Warhammer 40: Doom
Chapter 136 He will make his brothers despise him!
Chapter 136 He will make his brothers despise him!
"Doom Warrior, proceed to the landing craft to support the ground battle." He gave Horus a deep look, said nothing more, and turned to leave with his offspring.
Horus remained expressionless, nodded in acquiescence to his brother's departure, and continued to focus on the battlefield before him.
He knew the source of Doom's wrath—the sacrifices of the Space Marines.
However, Horus had reason to persuade his "naive" brother after the war.
Victory in war comes at a price; sacrifice is the foundation for victory.
Rus glanced at Horus, then turned to look at the departing Doom, his gaze shifting back and forth.
His beastly eyes darted around quickly, and after some deliberation, he chose to follow Doom.
"Wolves, follow the Doomsday Warrior!" he howled, striding toward the bridge exit.
"Are you sure you want to go down?" Horus didn't look up, staring at the holographic image, his brows furrowed slightly. "You're not even wearing power armor."
“They can’t do anything to me.” Ruth lifted his robe and tied it around his waist.
He grinned and followed Doom without hesitation, shouting to the Space Marine at the door, "Bring me a greatsword, or an iron rod if you can't find one."
Horus looked up and watched his two brothers leave, his expression changing slightly, revealing a hint of displeasure.
In his mind, Ruth had already chosen sides and sided with Doom.
From the moment Horus saw Doom, he secretly resolved to regard this great brother as a rival.
He felt similar to Doom, both being favored by their fathers and inspiring his expectations.
Although the Emperor's indulgent attitude towards Doom made him very uncomfortable, he also felt a strange envy.
As the firstborn son, Horus believed he should be magnanimous and happy to share his father's love.
He raised his hand to his chest, where a pocket was sewn inside his magnificent robe, containing a gold ring.
"You are my Sagittarius." Horus clearly remembered his father's hopeful eyes and loving smile.
He placed a gold ring in his palm, symbolizing protection.
Horus sighed. Now, the two brothers, who were so alike, had a slight disagreement on the front lines of the battlefield.
It's time to talk...
He watched his brother leave the bridge, knowing that after the war, they would need to talk about their differences.
“He really went a bit too far…” Ruth shrank back, speaking cautiously as he walked alongside his brother.
He knew perfectly well where Doom's anger came from.
“You shouldn’t get involved in this mess.” Doom didn’t answer, his clear eyes looking at Ruth, his rational gaze reflecting Ruth’s wild face.
Ruth, having followed him out, became involved in the conflict.
Disapproving of Horus's behavior, Doom decided to resolve the battle first before talking to him.
This was a vortex of clashes between the two, and Ruth could have stayed out of it, but she stepped right in and decisively stood on her side.
"It's impossible to stay out of it."
Ruth shrugged and quietly stated his reasoning: "We have twenty brothers, and their personalities are bound to be completely different."
"Do you think we'll all be together by then?"
"Is it a harmonious and respectful relationship between brothers, or is it a fierce confrontation where they can't stand each other?"
Doom didn't say anything more, turned his head and strode forward. His silence proved that Ruth was right.
Twenty brothers, bound by blood, tolerate each other, but they will never be truly happy together.
“Compared to Horus, I feel you are a normal person.”
Russ's eyes gleamed with wisdom. After a moment of serious thought, he nodded slightly and said with absolute certainty, "At least more normal than Horus."
Doom nodded without saying anything more, walked through the corridor to the tarmac, and boarded a landing ship.
Ruth, with his guards, followed closely behind his brother and received the greatsword and boarding shield from Shadowmoon Wolf.
"It'll do." He weighed it in his hand and nodded with some satisfaction.
The landing craft descended rapidly, carrying two Primarchs and their guards, and quickly arrived at the battlefield.
With a calm expression, Doom led the Gene Spawn out of the cockpit to quickly assess the battlefield situation.
The battlefield was filled with smoke and flames, and various energy beams made the battlefield extremely hot.
The legion continued its fierce attack, and the heavy firepower was ineffective against the shielded hive.
The gates of the capital were heavily fortified with fire, and the corpses of the 19th Army Corps piled up, paving the way forward with their lives.
“He’ll be despised by his brothers!” Ruth stepped out of the cabin and spat out disdainfully: “He treats orphans like this.”
After experiencing it firsthand, Russ grew increasingly displeased with Horus, and his gaze toward the Shadowmoon Wolf carried a hint of disdain.
The honor of the Sixteenth Army Corps is built on the sacrifices of its brother corps.
“Let’s go,” Doom said, raising his hand to summon a shield from the alternate dimension. He called out to Russ, “Let’s break down the city gates and end this battle.”
"I've been looking forward to fighting alongside you for so long!"
Ruth raised his boarding shield, ignited the force field of his greatsword, and his eyes were extremely fierce.
The group quickly moved towards the gate of the Nest City.
The news that the Primarchs have joined the battle is exhilarating, and the Space Marines are honored to fight alongside them.
"The 19th Army Corps is retreating."
A voice came through the communication array; the Primarch's command came quickly, without passion or encouragement, his voice as cold as frost.
The soldiers of the 19th Army Corps were stunned.
They were preparing for the next assault, drawing enemy fire to buy time for their allies to attack.
"Didn't you little brats hear me?" Another wild roar rang out, undoubtedly the command of another Primarch. A sudden pressure arose, and the Legion warriors looked in that direction; two giants were rapidly approaching.
Doom's expression grew even more displeased at the warrior's hesitation; they had even become accustomed to the "Grey Claw" tactics.
He now feels that Gray Claw doesn't sound very good; it's a bit too embellished.
This despicable tactic of sending people to their deaths should be called a suicide squad!
The Nineteenth Legion knelt on one knee, not daring to defy the Primarch's authority, and remained silent amidst the imposing aura.
They moved as close as possible to the city walls, gathering inside the massive crater, where the Mechanicus erected shields as a temporary forward position.
"Get out of here!" Ruth shouted angrily. "The King of Warriors and the Great Wolf have taken over this place now."
“But…” The legion commander knelt, hesitating over the Primarch’s command.
On the battlefield, to avoid confusion in orders, there is always only one commander.
Horus is now in command, and although he respects the Primarch, the commander of the Nineteenth Legion still raises questions.
"The Nineteenth Army Corps is under the command of my brother."
Horus's voice came through the sonic communication system, announcing a change of command on the battlefield and the transfer of command of the Nineteenth Army Corps.
Horus was also curious about how his brother would take over and complete the mission of the Nineteenth Legion.
"Get out of here!" Ruth glared and shooed the Nineteenth Army soldiers away.
He was by no means rude in his heart, but he used rudeness in his actions to keep these Space Marines at a distance.
Because he didn't know what would happen next.
Doom, shield in his left hand, smiled slightly at Russ: "Shall we charge straight in?"
Ruth bared her fangs, slapped her sword against her shield, and retorted defiantly, "Should I charge ahead?"
"Doom!"
"Wild wolf!"
The two Primarchs whispered, "Stay close!"
Doom took the lead, activating his shield field to block the attack and charging forward.
The artifact of the Space Necromancer, its shield field spreads out like a circular wall, protecting everyone behind it.
Without tactics or planning, the group charged straight toward the city gate under heavy fire.
Ruth followed behind his brother, shield in hand and greatsword in hand, charging forward. He knew Doom's abilities.
The Doomsday Warriors brandished their weapons, relentlessly bombarding the enemy troops atop the city walls. Their towering figures stood in front, their golden armor protecting the wolves behind them.
"For the Great Wolf! For the King of Warriors!"
They ran with all their might, afraid of holding others back, and charged forward without regard for anything else.
The two Primarchs' insane actions deeply shocked the Shadowmoon Wolves, who wanted to leave their bunkers and charge towards the city.
"Charge!" Horus's order came quickly; he had to give it.
Doom's actions were impulsive; he was worried that his brothers might get hurt if they couldn't break through the city gates.
The Shadow Moon Wolf's advance can draw some of the firepower and cover the brothers' actions.
"For Horus!"
Unable to hold back any longer, Shadow Moon Wolf burst out from its cover and charged rapidly toward the city gate.
At this moment, Horus looked solemn on the Soul of Vengeance, worried about Doom and Ruth.
No matter how different their personalities and beliefs may be, they are always blood relatives and the closest brothers.
"Prepare to withstand the attack!"
Doom let out a low growl, bracing himself against his shield as he accelerated, gathering all his strength as he charged straight toward the steel gate.
"Prepare to withstand the attack!"
Ruth roared, raising his boarding shield in front of him as he stood at the front of the group.
Doom suddenly accelerated, so fast that the Space Marines couldn't even see him. His speed didn't decrease at all; on the contrary, it continued to increase.
Directly in front of him was a steel gate, tens of meters high, several meters thick, and weighing about 10,000 tons.
Does the Primarch intend to smash it open?
The question popped into everyone's mind; they simply couldn't believe that flesh and blood could rival refined steel.
Horus, too, felt that his brother was somewhat presumptuous, even overestimating his abilities.
However, the next second, the shocking scene transmitted from the battlefield stunned the composed Horus. He jumped up from his throne and stared in disbelief at the holographic image.
Boom! ! !
A deafening roar shook the heavens and the earth, and a shockwave rippled outwards visible to the naked eye.
The Space Marines gritted their teeth, enduring the shockwave from the sonic boom. They were stunned and even forgot to activate Lyman's Ear.
At the massive city gate of the city, the gates were wide open, and the steel gate had vanished without a trace.
Do not!
It was blasted away by the Primarch's power, crashing into the city, leaving a trail of blood in its wake, crushing those blocking its way behind the gate before collapsing to the ground with a thud.
"Wow!" Ruth felt the impact so close at hand. He raised his shield and swung his sword, following Doom as they charged into the city.
"Follow in the footsteps of the Primarch!"
The usually silent Doomsday Warriors roared, brandishing their weapons as they followed the Father of Genetics into the city.
(Brothers, I've caught a cold. Sorry, that's all for today. Special thanks to everyone for your support, and thank you for the tips and monthly tickets.)
The Nurgle virus arrived with overwhelming force, infecting the youth of the Empire.
