Warhammer 40: Doom

Chapter 162: A fleeting moment

Chapter 162: A fleeting moment
Three cruisers carrying the last humans were deployed. Doom ordered the fleet to slowly depart, lowering the aliens' guard.

In the final moments, try to avoid any unexpected complications and steadily advance the plan to secure victory.

The human fleet started its engines, and Horanion breathed a sigh of relief; the sword hanging over their heads had finally been removed.

Humans may be domineering, but they also abide by treaties.

Horanion felt a huge weight lifted from his heart, unaware that the human fleet was calibrating the weapon coordinates.

They were fantasizing about how to acquire the jump engine in the coming days.

The last group of humans boarded the ship, and the enormous human warships began to ignite. Horanion cheered, celebrating the departure of the human fleet.

“Destroy them.” Doom stared intently at the hologram, anticipating the fireworks Victor had prepared.

Victor opened the communications channel and ordered the three cruisers: "Send our parting gifts."

Amid cheers, the three cruisers ascended to high orbit, their engine output steadily increasing.

"Are they in such a hurry?" Horanion looked around and asked his kin.

The human warships didn't look like they were setting sail normally; instead, they seemed to be escaping something terrifying.

"A tragic song is about to be sung in the alien world." Victor sighed, lamenting that a race born from a black hole would ultimately perish beneath it.

Doom's eyes lit up, his heart filled with curiosity.

He knew the tragic song was beyond saving.

In Nur's most dangerous moments, this weapon of annihilation is always ready, to be used to perish together with the enemy.

I'd heard of its infamous reputation before, and today I'll witness its terror firsthand.

Three Cyclone torpedoes were launched from the cruiser's belly, heading straight for the alien's artificial world.

By the time Horan realized what was happening and cursed humanity's depravity and condemned their treachery, it was too late.

There is no gravitational field deflection, and no shield to block it.

The whirlwind torpedo penetrated the planet's atmosphere without hesitation, piercing the ground with burning flames.

In pursuit of maximum power, the Cyclone Torpedo, carrying a mechanical sarcophagus, hurtled straight to the core of the alien man-made world.

"Humans! A faithless race, you have betrayed the covenant!"

Curses erupted through the communication channel, and a giant slug appeared on the screen, angrily shouting, "You have despicably deceived the Sons of the Abyss!"

“Look at your signatures, they are a symbol of shame.”

It manipulates gravity, lifts up a piece of parchment, and writes down vows and multiple signatures.

“This contract was signed between you and the military alliance, and I am a witness to it.” Doom also picked up the contract paper and pointed to the terms inside.

"There is no rule that witnesses cannot wage war against you."

Having said that, he revealed a disdainful expression and, while the alien was stunned, openly tore up the treaty: "The aliens have been poisoning humanity for a thousand years, yet they dare to ask for peace?"

"The aliens that threaten humanity will eventually be brought to justice!"

“Despicable and shameless!” Horanion screamed, knowing that its people had been deceived by the humans’ word games.

They lost; in this high-stakes gamble, Horanion lost miserably.

The price of losing the bet is annihilation!

As the "Unforgettable Tragedy" erupted, communications flickered, and Horanion disappeared into the holographic image.

snort!
Doom snorted coldly. The aliens' naivety and wishful thinking cost them their last chance to fight back.

hum~~~
As if with a low hum, the entire man-made world began to tremble.

Born from the edge of a black hole, the Horanion are very sensitive to gravity, and their instincts warn that the gravity inside the planet is soaring!

Humanity's weapon detonated at the center of the world, creating an artificial black hole!
Unable to escape, the gravity value skyrocketed, and Horanion used bio-energy to manipulate gravity in a last-ditch effort.

Unfortunately, all their efforts were in vain.

As gravity intensified, their gelatinous bodies collapsed downwards, becoming stuck to the keratinous ground. Their bodies, clinging to the floor, leaked copious amounts of fluid, their internal organs shifted, their spines collapsed, and their alien forms were torn apart in agony.

The ground tremors grew stronger, and from space, the artificial continental shelf appeared to fracture, peeling away layer by layer from its steel support.

Collapse, subsidence. Horanion, son of the abyss.

The aliens probably never imagined that the weapon that wiped them out was the very force that gave birth to their species.

When the laws of nature stand in opposition, their ferocity and power are a thousand times more terrifying than when they are docile.

Matter is stretched, squeezed, and compressed. A man-made black hole slowly expands from the artificial world.

Like a greedy cosmic behemoth, it opens its empty maw and swallows the material world whole.

During this stage, even the most tenacious survivors experience a halt in their consciousness, stretched by the infinite gravity. Individual consciousness begins to materialize, infinitely elongated at the edge of the black hole, unaware of their own existence and unable to grasp any reality.

"Brilliant!" Doom couldn't help but clap his hands in amazement; the scene before him was simply too stunning.

The song of sorrow is truly as its name suggests. It is a tragic tale, as magnificent as a poem, impossible to undo.

Three black holes devoured three worlds, and after they disappeared, the three worlds were completely erased.

There was nothing there, and it was spotless, without a speck of dust.

Three major worlds disappeared, the alien space station exploded, and hidden hovering torpedoes destroyed alien creations.

"Leave three cruisers behind to continue patrolling this void, ensuring no one escapes."

Doom's rationality was awe-inspiring; he diverted warships from the fleet to continuously eliminate any potential survivors of the aliens.

He was not an indecisive or sentimental person; once the seed of hatred was planted, he nipped it in the bud.

After completing all the necessary cleanup work, the fleet once again sailed into subspace and left the black hole cluster.

In the years that followed, apart from human war records, other races could hardly know that an intelligent life form had been born at the edge of the black hole.

The First Fleet returned to the real universe, arriving at the edge of the star graveyard galaxy, and resumed the normal flow of time.

"My lord, I do not know how to express my gratitude. The military alliance hereby submits to the stars of Nur!

At the moment of parting, Sergeant William knelt on one knee before Doom and swore an oath in the honor of a soldier.

“Nur will help you rebuild your homes.” Doum knelt down to help the old man up and said to him peacefully, “Uphold your duties and maintain your strong culture.”

"The universe is vast and boundless, and Nur needs warriors like you."

"I will certainly not fail your expectations!" William saluted again, his aged face extremely serious.

After saying goodbye, William left behind his fleet and personnel and prepared to depart.

In Doom's plan, a war academy will be built here, making it an excellent place to recruit ordinary soldiers.

"My lord, we have been gone for six years."

After the old sergeant left, Sophia immediately reported that she knew what her master cared about most.

"Six years?" Doom shook his head helplessly. The fleet had eliminated the alien race in five months with zero casualties.

After returning to the normal time flow, time quietly passed, and six years were gained.

"Your important message." Sofia was excellent; the arrangement of the tight and loose parts was impeccable.

She immediately obtained the information accumulated over the past six years from the ships responsible for the pick-up, filtered and summarized it, and then passed it on.

“Thank you so much, Sophia.” Doom thanked the digital advisor; she had done a perfect job.

"I dare not take credit." Sophia said this while standing up slightly, very proud.

A knowing smile appeared on Doum's handsome and dashing face as he began to read through the messages from the past six years.

The situation in Nur is steadily improving, with only regular reports being received and no major incidents reported.

Li Tang's second fleet achieved extraordinary feats, and the title "Heavenly Khan" spread widely throughout the Misty Starfield.

He led his fleet across the realms of control, conquering many worlds and expanding the territory of the Nur constellation.

Harlan's Third Fleet surprised Doom; the Champion Swordsmen abandoned their aggressive style and instead adopted a steady and methodical approach.

After conquering each world, he thoroughly purged the power structure, promoted young people to high positions, and ruled the conquered world.

He didn't go far, but patrolled the outer perimeter of the Nur core area, carefully searching for the lost world to ensure the stability of the territory under his control.

Sena led the Fourth Fleet, and his objective was clear: to fight between the domain of control and the domain of influence.

The racing master, displaying his personal style, dispatched a large scout fleet to search for the star system's transportation phase.

The world he conquered was mostly of great strategic value, rich in resources, and densely populated.

Most importantly, Sena has the most STC templates discovered and harvested among the three fleets.

Doom nodded repeatedly; the three fleet leaders on whom he had placed high hopes had indeed demonstrated their style and ideas.

Li Tang's advance was unstoppable, Harlan made steady progress, and Sena achieved a strategic conquest.

They have different styles, but they share a common understanding: never be greedy for quick success or act rashly; first, conquer and control the territory to ensure its stability.

Conquest is not the end, but rather the beginning of another.

A victory that has been won must be made to realize its true value; otherwise, the conquest is worthless.
