Chapter 255 You are innocent
Chapter 255 You are innocent
Set sail for Macragge. The Emperor's decree has spread throughout the fleet.
The Royal Majesty tore through the real universe, plunged into the warp, and set off for Macragge.
The Imperial Dream and the Thirteenth Legion fleet followed, heading to the Primarch's homeland to witness the Primarch's return.
Guilliman was somewhat dazed as he entered the warp for the first time, marveling at the magnificent scenery before him.
At one point, he even sensed that something deep within the subspace was calling to him.
The feeling was fleeting, indistinguishable from reality.
Our ancestors used subspace travel to traverse the galaxy and establish a glorious golden age.
“It’s so peaceful here.” He sat cross-legged on the lush green lawn, enjoying the fine wine and food served by his servants, and exclaimed at the subspace outside the porthole.
Guilliman was well-versed in history and knew that the end of the Golden Age was related to the turbulent subspace.
When the AI rebellion ended, humanity should have been able to shine again, but the turbulent warp extinguished all hope.
Without prolonged communication and replenishment of supplies, human colonies gradually declined in isolation.
"Peaceful?" The emperor sipped the fine wine from his lips, savoring the rare tribute, and said to his son, "There is never peace here."
He pointed to the distance, where Dum was chatting happily with Vulcan: "Only when he is here is the Warp peaceful."
Guilliman was puzzled, his brows furrowed, but he did not ask the Emperor for the reason.
The emperor said, “Here, will is absolute, and just so happens, someone’s will is absolute.”
With a curious look in his eyes, Guilliman looked at Doom and re-examined his brother.
Politicians always have a habit of labeling everyone.
For example, the emperor—powerful, glorious, and possessing lofty ideals and rationality.
Vulcan had little contact with the man, but his brother's honesty and kindness were evident from his reluctance to pick the flowers.
Guilliman had long ago labeled Doom with powerful tags such as "strong warrior" and "powerful".
He didn't hold back his praise. Only those who have experienced it firsthand know just how powerful Doom truly is.
Doom will bleed, but by the time the blood flows, his enemy has already fallen, defeated by the King of Warriors.
Analyzing the Emperor's words, Guilliman felt that he hadn't given his brother enough credit.
The Emperor seems to highly regard him; Doom's immense power seems to far exceed what we currently see.
The probing gaze was quickly withdrawn; Guilliman dared not delve deeper, for his brother sensed the gaze and turned to look at them.
“Let’s go,” Doom said to Vulcan. “They should have finished their talks by now.”
Vulcan nodded silently, raised his hand and sent the butterfly away. As he watched the smile gradually appear on his brother's face, he felt a chill run down his spine.
As the two were walking toward the Emperor and his entourage, a thousand blue-armored warriors appeared at the garden gate.
The 4th Company Commander of the 13th Legion, leading his comrades, came to meet the Emperor and the Primarch, representing the Legion to welcome the Father of Genes.
At this moment, the fourth company commander's face was ashen, and there was no joy on his resolute face.
Everything is clear now.
The Royal Majesty never left this universe. The Emperor himself arrived and was then notified to come and welcome the Father of Genes.
All these facts suggest that the "genetic slaves" whom the boarding party witnessed and fought against are the Legion's genetic father.
The sense of familiarity felt by the team was not due to Ran Dan's spiritual pollution, but rather a blood connection from the father of genes.
When the Astartes entered the garden and saw the blue-robed giant for the first time, they felt a blood connection.
At this moment, there was no room for further speculation or resistance.
They jogged forward, their power armor clashing on the cobblestone path, heading towards the Father of Genetics.
"Homage to the Lord of Mankind, the Primarch, the Father of the Gene..."
The Legionary warriors knelt on one knee, praising the Lord of Mankind and his glorious sons.
Seeing the Space Marines with their ashen faces and complex expressions that seemed to be both smiling and crying, the Emperor was puzzled.
He didn't quite understand why the scene that should have been a cause for celebration for the legion seemed so awkward and strange.
Driven by primal curiosity, the emperor secretly unleashed his power, reading the memories and thoughts of the legion's warriors.
After learning everything, the emperor's lips twitched, and a strange look appeared on his serious and rigid face.
He straightened up and cast a deep gaze upon the legionary warriors. These warriors were incredibly brave, resisting their innate sense of obedience and kinship, and without any hesitation raised their blades against the Father of Genetics.
As the creator of the Space Marines, no one understood better than the Emperor their innate obedience to the Father of Genesis.
That was the instinct implanted along with the gene seed, engraved into the body, making the warriors trust and obey the gene prototype.
Because the Legion needs no questioning, it is free from weakness and thought, and obeys the Primarch's will to conquer and destroy.
Those who can resist this instinct to obey their nature and defy their original self are all people with great wisdom and perseverance.
The four-man jumping gang did it; they overcame their instincts and charged towards the Primarch, wielding their weapons.
Even though it happened without their knowledge, this courage and perseverance are still commendable.
As the Thirteenth Army approached, Guilliman immediately rose, straightened his robes, and tidied his appearance.
He is the King of Macurag, and he needs to give his sons respect, and in turn, he needs to earn their respect.
As he stood up, Guilliman's meaningful gaze swept over Doom's expressionless face.
A politician's intuition is extremely sharp, and he had a preliminary understanding of his brother's intentions.
Doom used a clever trick to put himself on the moral high ground; the method was simple yet very effective.
"Father of Genetics!" The fourth company commander's eyes were filled with tears. These tough men, who would never shed a tear even when bleeding, were now choked with emotion.
That cry was heartbreaking, and even the kind-hearted Vulcan couldn't help but turn his head to look at it.
He didn't understand why, on their first meeting, the legionary soldiers showed not joy, but deep sorrow.
Is this some kind of special ceremony?
Unaware of the key to the matter, Vulcan decided to continue watching to see what was causing the soldiers to burst into tears.
Doom remained impassive, responding to Guilliman with a glance and a smile.
This was a test of Guilliman's magnanimity, and also Doom's way of saving the Fourth Company soldiers.
Guilliman rose, walked to the front of the Legion warriors, and looked down at the Gene Progenitors kneeling on the ground.
He had already witnessed the Space Marines' bravery and formidable fighting prowess on the battlefield.
When they were face to face, Guilliman felt the connection of blood, the subtle feeling between father and son.
The offspring of these genes are caught in a complex mix of guilt and expectation, their eyes darting around, unable to look directly at themselves.
“Raise your heads,” Guilliman said, his voice booming with authority yet gentleness, calm yet undeniable: “My proud offspring.”
With his opening remarks, Guilliman set the tone for the meeting, dispelling any unpleasant atmosphere.
The Legion warriors all looked up, their gazes burning as they looked at the Primarch.
The Emperor, Doom, and Vulcan all turned to Guilliman, awaiting his next words.
Guilliman bent down, reached out to help the company commander up, and looked up at the resolute, war-ravaged faces of his sons.
He also saw the edge of the group, where his offspring were attacking him, their expressions filled with unease.
"Everyone stand up."
Wow~
The sound of armor rubbing together rang out, the blue ocean rippled, and the Legion warriors, following the Primarch's will, rose orderly from the ground.
"There is no need for guilt or shame. I am honored to hear about all the actions you have taken."
Guilliman slightly raised his chin, displaying immense confidence; his demeanor and speech captivated everyone present.
"You responded boldly to the friendly forces' requests for assistance without hesitation, demonstrating a willingness to take responsibility; you faced any enemy without fear, attacking bravely and fearlessly; you executed orders faithfully without doubt, achieving the objectives of the war."
Guilliman took the company commander's hand, walked to the boarding team, and helped the soldier who was about to kneel down, saying in a highly infectious voice:
"Don't feel guilty, you are my pride, I am proud of you."
He then smiled generously and said to his offspring, "Even I attacked you in our hasty encounter, didn't I?"
"Although there was a slight hesitation in taking action, an attack is an attack, and that is an indisputable fact."
“You did a better job than I did, never letting your guard down in the face of a suspicious enemy. I might lose my life because of suspicion, but you relied on vigilance to give your all in the war.”
"It's not the same..." the fourth company commander argued guiltily.
“Nothing is different, my children.” Guilliman raised his hand, gently interrupting him: “I declare you innocent, and I declare myself innocent.”
"It was a beautiful misunderstanding, and it helped us understand each other better, didn't it?"
