Chapter 105 The dragon falls
The black arrow failed to kill Smaug and was even melted by his dragon fire.

This result disappointed everyone who had expected it.

"Bard, there's still a chance!" Dui looked at the discouraged Bard and shouted loudly.

Bard raised his head, smiled bitterly and shook his head: "But the only black arrow that can kill the dragon is gone! What else can we do?"

Dui pulled out a gorgeous spear that gleamed with silver light from the empty space bag.

"This is the divine spear, Aegros, the weapon of Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor. It once pierced the armor of the Dark Lord Sauron and wounded him. It possesses unbreakable penetrating power. It is almost as long as a black arrow. Use it to shoot the dragon again!"

Dui threw the silver spear to Bard and said.

Bard was very surprised when he got the spear. He still had some vision and could see that the spear was very powerful, far more precious and sharper than his own black arrow.

However, he added with some concern, "But the dragon is already on guard, and he's already patched up the gaps in his scales with molten lava. I'm afraid he won't give us a chance to hit his weak spot."

Dui shook his head, his face full of confidence.

"This time, we won't shoot at the gap in his chest where the scales are."

"Not shooting the gap?"

"Yes, don't shoot there, but aim at his wings. I need you to shoot off one of the dragon's wings, so that he will completely lose the ability to fly!"

Dui said with a very serious face:

"I'll give you a chance later. You only have one chance to shoot him down. Can you do it?"

"I can!" Bud nodded firmly.

Dui looked at Bud deeply, hoping that fate would favor him this time.

Then he turned his broom around and chased after the dragon Smaug.

At this time, Gandalf on the dragon's back was also very busy. He held the sword stuck in the dragon's back tightly with one hand, and used the other hand to hold the staff and release the holy light spell, which prevented the dragon from opening its eyes and could only fly around.

This also gave Dui the opportunity to catch up, and he cast another Cruciatus Curse, slowing down the dragon's speed and reaction.

Dui and Gandalf cooperated well, intentionally or unintentionally driving the dragon towards Bard again.

Seeing that the dragon had already entered Bard's range, Dui cast the spell with all his strength again:
"The soul is out of body!"

The power of the Imperius Curse struck the dragon Smaug.

For the first time, Dui clearly felt the power of the dragon's soul.

No wonder his Killing Curse couldn't kill Smaug. The Imperius Curse worked on the dragon's soul, and it was like he was trying to move a giant that was countless times heavier than him. It was very difficult.

But even so, it still succeeded in making the dragon lose consciousness and trance for a few seconds, and its movements became sluggish.

"Now! Bud!" Dui's veins popped out and he gritted his teeth and shouted loudly.

Bard placed the divine spear Aegros on the giant crossbow. As Dui's voice sounded, he had already aimed at the dragon and instantly shot out the divine spear.

As the divine spear turned into a silver light and made a rapid sound of breaking through the air, the divine spear instantly broke through the dragon scales and shot an arrow at the place where the dragon's wings and body were connected.

Accompanied by a giant dragon's howl, the dragon fell straight to the ground like a bird with broken wings, under the influence of gravity and acceleration, carrying Gandalf on its back.

With a deafening roar, the giant dragon crashed heavily into the long lake, creating towering waves. Its body was so enormous that even after falling into the lake, half of its torso remained above the surface.

As for Gandalf, he was still standing on the dragon's back, unharmed.

He waved his staff and kept hitting the dragon, releasing shock waves and holy light, smashing the dragon back into the lake.

Smaug tried to struggle and fly again, but his wings, which were shot by the divine spear Aegiros, were no longer able to support him to fly, and instead he fell into the lake again in a mess.

"No! It shouldn't be like this! I won't lose like this!" The dragon kept struggling and wailing.

"The ground is frozen and the sky is cold!" Dui released cold air towards the lake surrounding the dragon. The lake surface quickly froze, trying to freeze the dragon inside.

The dragon discovered Dui's intention and struggled even more fiercely: "Don't try to trap me! Destroy everything!"

Smaug roared madly, then spewed out scorching flames to burn the lake water, and even spewed flames at himself to prevent the lake water from freezing.

Smaug's crazy behavior forced Gandalf to jump off his back to prevent the flames from burning himself.

The flames spewed out by the dragon were extremely difficult to extinguish. Even in the lake, the flames continued to burn on the lake surface and spread to the surroundings, gradually threatening Changhu Town not far from here.

"Duir, we have to find a way to stop him from breathing fire, otherwise Lake Town will probably be burned down!" Gandalf reminded loudly.

Dui naturally knew the seriousness of the matter and immediately waved his wand.

"Water Prison Binding!"

As the magic power surged, a huge whirlpool appeared on the lake, forming a giant rotating water ball, trapping the dragon inside and causing it to spin continuously, and even the flames it spewed out were caught up in it.

This is the advanced water magic "Water Prison". When Harry Potter went to the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic in fifth grade, Dumbledore used this spell to trap Voldemort.

When Dui saw this spell in the book of spells, he was impressed and learned it.

It is not easy to build a water prison big enough to trap a dragon. Fortunately, we are in a favorable geographical location and there is an inexhaustible supply of lake water around us.

The giant dragon rolled left and right and up and down like in a washing machine. When it opened its mouth, the lake water poured directly into its throat, leaving it no chance to spit fire.

Dui was fully focused and kept mobilizing his magic power. He didn't know whether a creature like the dragon would drown, so he could only keep persevering, and sweat gradually appeared on his forehead.

Although he did not run out of magic power, it was still mentally exhausting to mobilize magic power and he would feel tired.

Just when Dui's mental strength was gradually failing, a warm energy was injected into his body, which instantly dissipated his fatigue and filled him with energy.

It was Gandalf who took action. The Fire Ring Naya in his hand flashed with brilliant light, continuously injecting the energy in it into Dui's body.

With the blessing of the power of the Ring of Fire, Dui's spell became more powerful. More and more lake water gathered together to wrap the dragon tightly, leaving him no chance to escape.

As time passed, after an unknown amount of time, Smaug in the water ball stopped struggling and remained motionless as if he were dead.

But Dewi and Gandalf still did not dare to be careless.

Dragons have great vitality. If they could be drowned so easily, they would not become the embodiment of disaster that the people of Middle-earth fear.

Sure enough, seeing that Dui and Gandalf were not fooled, the giant dragon Smaug in the water ball opened his cunning eyes again, his eyes full of unwillingness and anger.
