Chapter 59 Rescue Expedition
Chapter 59 Rescue Expedition
After doing all this, Dui sealed and hid the treasure with magic and would collect it when he came back.
Then they went on to find the next troll cave.
However, this time, because they had the Crystal of True Knowledge, it was actually easier for the two to search.
"Let me see, where is the next ogre?" Dui held the crystal of true knowledge and tried to concentrate his mind and stare at it.
Gandalf also came over and looked at the light mist in the crystal ball expectantly.
In an instant, a picture appeared in the crystal ball.
However, the scene that appeared surprised the two of them.
Because the picture showed Thorin and others, who were tied to a tree trunk by three ogres and put on the fire to be roasted.
Among them, Bilbo remained calm in the face of danger and showed enough composure and wisdom. He used words to distract the attention of the three trolls, saying that the dwarves were sick and would get sick if they ate it. He also took advantage of the conflicts between the three trolls and provoked them to quarrel with each other by using uneven distribution, constantly delaying time.
Seeing the crystal ball showing that Thorin and the others were trapped, Gandalf did not show any anxiety. Instead, he commented happily: "It seems that my choice was right. Bilbo is indeed the best choice for the Snitch. Putting him with the dwarves, his shining points are becoming more and more apparent."
Due was not as calm as Gandalf. He did not expect that even with this variable, they would still encounter three trolls.
While lamenting the inertia of fate, he hurriedly urged, "Bilbo and the others don't look like they can hold on for much longer. Gandalf, we should hurry and rescue them!"
The situation was urgent, so Gandalf and Duey rushed towards Thorin and the others without stopping. With the monitoring of the Palantir, they could see what was happening with Bilbo and the others at any time.
Soon, the two of them arrived near Bilbo and his friends.
Looking at the fire in the distance and the three huge ogre figures, the two men became slower and carefully hid behind the boulders.
"What to do? Should we go up and deal with them directly?" Dui asked in a low voice, tilting his head.
"Bilbo's provocation is very effective. Perhaps we don't need to do anything. They can delay until dawn." Gandalf said approvingly as he looked at the three ogres who were arguing and about to fight not far away.
"Of course, if you still have those potions from before, you can use them again to deal with them."
"I've run out of potions, and I don't have any left to deal with them." Dui shook his head and looked at the dwarves tied to the wood with a gloating look. "It seems I can only let them suffer for a while longer. Let's wait until dawn."
Although he said this, he did not stop his actions. He quickly cast a Disillusionment Spell on himself and Gandalf, and then the two of them became invisible and slowly approached the fire.
The three ogres were still arguing fiercely about how to divide the number of people, and they didn't notice that someone was quietly approaching behind them.
"Confuse the audience~" A subtle voice sounded, barely audible in the wind.
The three ogres suddenly became dazed, and their not-so-bright heads were only obsessed with food. They only wanted to get the largest number of dwarves, so they were full of hostility towards their other two companions.
There was a voice in his head constantly tempting him that as long as he killed the other party, all the dwarves would be his.
It was unknown who started the fight first, but soon the three ogres were fighting each other in front of the astonished gazes of the dwarves. They were like sworn enemies, trying their best to kill each other.
In an instant, the surrounding trees and boulders became weapons in their hands. The place where they fought was in a mess and the trees were destroyed.
Only the place where Thorin and others were was protected by an invisible barrier, blocking the impact of the rubble.
The dwarves who saw this scene were immediately delighted.
Bilbo turned his head in surprise, searching around, and whispered to the air, "Duir, is that you?" The trolls fought more and more fiercely, and finally stopped fighting almost with all three of them severely injured.
One ogre was hit on the head by a huge rock and fell to the ground with blood all over his body; another had one hand and one foot broken and lost his ability to move; the remaining one, who was the final winner, also won at the cost of being seriously injured.
"Hehe, mine, these are all my food!" said the ogre happily after winning the tragic victory.
But before it could finish being happy, a flaming sword pierced through its chest, releasing a scorching golden flame that burned its heart to ashes.
And the man holding the sword was Gandalf.
Seeing this sudden scene, the other ogre with broken hands and feet was terrified and quickly stood up on one foot to run away.
But the next second, two sharp daggers instantly pierced into its most vulnerable eyes, turning the disabled ogre blind again.
The ogre screamed in pain and, having lost its eyes, ran around like a headless fly.
"Dui'ir, take it!" Gandalf threw the sword over.
Dui caught the flaming sword and stabbed it into the ogre's back, releasing a raging fire.
The ogre's screams stopped abruptly and he fell to the ground.
Dui drew his sword, came to the last unconscious ogre, and easily defeated it.
In this way, all three trolls were dealt with by Due and Gandalf.
As Due struggled to pull his two daggers out of the ogre's eyes and wiped off the black blood on them with disgust, Gandalf had already untied Bilbo and the dwarves.
Bilbo and the dwarves were very excited and grateful to see Due and Gandalf kill the three trolls so easily and rescue them.
Even the most stubborn Thorin solemnly expressed his gratitude to Dewi and Gandalf.
"Dui'er, what is this?" Bilbo asked in surprise and curiosity when he saw Dui bringing a huge black crystal ball.
"Is this the Crystal of True Knowledge?!" Thorin Oakenshield was very surprised. As the heir of Durin's clan, he had extraordinary knowledge and recognized it immediately.
Seeing that Thorin recognized it, Dewi didn't hide it and nodded with a smile, "We found it in a troll cave. We happened to see you trapped from it, so Gandalf and I rushed here without stopping."
Hearing this, Thorin was very envious.
If the Du Lin clan also had a crystal of true knowledge, they would have been able to discover the dragon's presence in advance and would not have lost Lonely Mountain and been forced into exile.
He rescued everyone and brought back the horses that were captured by the trolls, including Duy's pony Xiaodai and the carriage.
The carriage was protected by Dui's magic, so it was not damaged and the things inside were not lost, including the pot of mature mandrake.
A mature mandrake is a powerful weapon, but unfortunately Dui has not learned the spell to block hearing, so he can only cast a petrification spell on it regularly to prevent it from killing itself without killing the enemy first.
After putting the Crystal of True Knowledge into the carriage, Dui suggested that everyone go to explore the cave of the three ogres.
He remembered that Gandalf's smiter and Bilbo's Sting were both found there.
