Chapter 15 Wyvern
Leaving the golden wasteland bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun, the Silver Dove caravan crossed the boundary of shadow and slowly entered the gloomy darkness concealed by the mountains.

"The Blackrock Mountains are just ahead. After passing through the valley, it will take another hour or so to reach Blackrock Village."

Manshu looked at Durant beside him; this was the fifth time Durant had spoken up.

This knight was exceptionally skilled; he constantly observed his surroundings as he moved forward, and occasionally even went out to scout the area, appearing very vigilant.

If all the caravan guards I hired were as responsible as this knight, then Manshu would be willing to pay double the fee.

The only downside is that he's too quiet.

"Ah."

Durant nodded slightly in response.

This was how he responded to Menshuu the whole way.

Menshu was not surprised at all.

The group entered the valley and continued along the winding mountain path.

The road was narrow, like a dried-up riverbed covered with pebbles, making it difficult for the carriages to move and slowing the procession down.

Durant finds it hard to imagine how Mansh found this place in the first place.

Just as he was wondering, a sharp whistling sound came from the sky!

"Enemy attack!"

As soon as Durant finished speaking, the guards immediately raised their shields and assumed a defensive stance.

However, the arrow did not hit anyone; instead, it stuck in a tree directly in front of the caravan.

"take it easy."

Manshu smiled reassuringly, then shouted into the valley, "I am Manshu Silver Dove, your old friend!"

The sound echoed in the valley, and after a moment it returned to calm.

As night fell, Durant vaguely saw a figure jumping down the hillside ahead.

"Our people have arrived."

Manshau smiled and walked forward, but Durant grabbed his arm.

He whispered, "Mr. Manshu, if the Blackrock Mountain people ask about my identity, please say that I am a guard of your caravan."

"Why?" Manshu asked, puzzled.

Durant explained, "These people may not know about the lord, and I don't know their attitude towards the lord. This answer can avoid some unnecessary trouble."

I don't want any other risks; I just want to complete the escort mission back to Frostleaf as soon as possible.

Manxiu remained silent for a moment, vaguely sensing that something was amiss.

But having come this far, and seeing Durant's sincere expression, Mansh finally nodded in agreement.

"Thank you for your understanding," Durant replied politely.

Manshu then turned around to meet the approaching figure.

"It is a pleasure to see you again, Renn, my friend. May the light of the Lord of Dawn shine upon you."

"I've been waiting for you all winter, my handsome friend."

The man called Rein stepped forward and gave Manshu a firm hug, instantly making him blush.

However, Manshu was not angry at Renn's unrestrained and rude behavior; he just smiled awkwardly and pushed him away.

After a warm exchange of pleasantries, Ryan's gaze fell upon Durant.
"You reacted quickly; you sensed my arrow before it even reached you."

Durant remained silent, observing Ryan in quiet contemplation.

This was a man of similar age to him, as strong as Gunther, wearing a roughly made leather armor, with a leather coat draped over his back, carrying a bow and arrows, and a short knife at his waist, exuding a dangerous aura.

He had a feeling that this Raine was one of the most skilled hunters.

Durant unconsciously wanted to draw his sword and kill the hunter in front of him.

However, reason prevailed and Durant held back.

"Of course, I spent a lot of money to protect this caravan."

Finally, Manxiu took the initiative to break the silence.

"I can tell."

Renn nodded, then looked away and said to Mansh, "Let's go, or we'll miss dinner. We just hunted three deer today, so we need to hurry back and have them roast them to treat you properly."

Ryan took the initiative to lead the way, and the convoy continued up the valley.

However, after traveling a short distance, the road in the valley suddenly turned into a gap more than two meters wide, making it impossible for the carriage to pass.

Manshu had anticipated this scene, so he had the servants unload the goods, leaving some to camp on the spot while the rest were responsible for moving the goods.

Before Mansh could make any arrangements, Durant took the initiative to have the guards take the goods and walk through the narrow valley path.

After walking about ten meters, the view suddenly opened up, and Durant saw the village nestled in the forest in the mountain valley.

Similar to Frostleaf Town, it was surrounded by a fence more than two meters high, and several wooden houses could be vaguely seen in the dim light of the fire.

The most conspicuous thing, five meters high, is a double-layered watchtower. Durant roughly counted the other wooden houses; there were thirteen in total.

There were eleven places nearby where smoke was emanating from cooking fires.

Led by Ryan, Durant and his guards entered the village without any hindrance, carrying the goods.

Under the simple shack, a woman wearing a fur coat was stirring a pot of soup over a fire, while several men dressed similarly were butchering what looked like wild deer.

The people here seem to live a tribal-like life, even more primitive than Frostleaf Town.

Just as Durant was looking around the village, a tall and slender figure came up to him.

“My daughter, Aleia, you should still remember her,” Renn introduced to Menshu.

The girl had delicate features and exuded a natural, pure aura, showing no sign of any connection to Raine.

Manshu bowed and spoke first: "Of course, it's a pleasure to see you again, beautiful Miss Alea. May the light of the Lord of Dawn shine upon you."

"Welcome back. We have prepared a lot of goods to exchange with you."

Aleya looked very happy and whispered mysteriously, "And you've come at the perfect time! I got two good things today!"

"Oh?"

"What good stuff?"

Manshu's interest was instantly piqued.

Ryan, standing to the side, looked puzzled, wondering what his daughter meant by "good stuff".

"You two come with me!"

Aleya didn't say anything, and led the two into the village.

Since Durant wasn't invited, he naturally couldn't go.

This was exactly what he wanted to do, so he stayed and observed his surroundings, trying his best to remember them.

Durant wasn't interested in the good stuff Aleja mentioned either.

What interested him was whether he and his men could take over the village on their own.

the other side.

Aleya led Manshu and Raine into a wooden hut in the corner, which was filled with food and had dried mushrooms and cured meat hanging on the walls.

"Is this your grain warehouse?"

Manshu looked around curiously, thinking that Aleya wanted him to eat some fresh fruit.

"The good stuff is here!"

Aleya walked to the nearby haystack, suddenly lifted it up, and two oval-shaped objects, slightly larger than watermelons and covered with dark blue scales, appeared in front of the three of them.

"This is……"

Manshu's eyes widened as he cautiously bent down. "The legendary dragon egg?!"

"What are you thinking? How could it be a legendary dragon egg?"

Aleya rolled her eyes, somewhat speechless, and explained with a hint of loss of interest, "A wyvern's egg."

“Excellent. Wyverns are still dragons, this is indeed a good thing.”

Manshu was completely captivated by the dragon egg, staring intently at it.

Only Renn stood to the side, frowning, and loudly questioned, "Is this the dragon egg of the wyvern that occupied the mine?!"
