Chapter 60 Frost and Thunder
After a long wait, the little guy on the right finally broke through the eggshell and crawled out.

Similarly, after it hatches, it pounces on the eggshell and begins to feast.

Rod stood to the side, waiting quietly, his breathing very soft.

"It hatched?!"

Durant walked in, his eyes filled with surprise.

"Shh!"

Rod gestured to Durant, pointing to the first two-winged dragon that was still sleeping next to him.

Newborn dragons need plenty of food and sleep to absorb nutrients so that their bodies can develop rapidly.

Durant quickly shut up and whispered an apology.

"I never imagined that wyverns looked so cute when they were young, not nearly as scary as they are as adults," Durant commented.

"But it only looks cute, you see."

Rod extended his hand to Durant.

Several tiny wounds appeared on her fair skin, with faint traces of blood visible in the light.

"I was rubbed by the first little guy just now."

The tiny wound was nothing to Rhodes; it didn't hurt at all. But it was enough to show that the little guy wasn't as small and harmless as he had imagined.

"It really is a magical beast."

Durant looked at the sleeping little ones with some surprise and asked, "Have you named them?"

"No."

Rhodes thought about it and decided that he should give it a name.

"It's very simple, just call them Big Dragon and Little Dragon."

"..."

Durant sighed; those two names suddenly made him feel powerless.

With a wry smile, he advised, "My lord, these two magical beasts may very well become symbols of our territory and aids in your wars of expansion."

I believe you should give them a more solemn name, thus adding luster to your noble honor.

Rod nodded; Durant's words did indeed make sense.

The two imposing and fierce bipedal dragons were originally able to intimidate enemies, but the mere mention of their names, Big Dragon and Little Dragon, instantly evoked a sense of deflation.

Rod accepted Durant's advice and began to rack his brains.

"Then let's call them Frost and Thunder."

Rhodes pointed to the sleeping little creature, "It's Frost."

The little guy munching on the eggshell is Thunder.

Durant nodded, then said helplessly, "Sir, it turns out you're good at coming up with nice names."

"I just thought it wasn't important, but after you reminded me, I'll naturally take it more seriously."

Looking at the two bipedal dragons, Rhodes sighed, "It's a pity they don't have the powerful breath control of the legendary five-colored dragons. I can only hope that they will have the opportunity to control magic like true dragons in the future."

"Who knows, those Dawn Society spellcasters might have a way to evolve the wyvern," Durant cautioned.

"Maybe, but even if it exists, it's not something that can be easily achieved."

Rhodes recalled the two books about magical beasts, which described the five-colored dragons as powerful beings capable of destroying cities.

After stuffing the eggshell into its mouth, the newly hatched two-legged wyvern Thunder stared at Rhodes standing before it, then flapped its wings, bared its sharp teeth, and roared.

"Ow!"

Thunder's voice was deeper and more resonant, youthful yet revealing a more ferocious beastly aura.

The frost beside it was awakened by its roar, opened its deep blue vertical pupils, and suddenly turned around and pounced on it!
The newborn Thunder was clearly weaker than Frost, and was instantly pinned down by Frost!

Immediately afterwards, Frost opened its mouth and bit down on Thunder's neck!

"Eh!"

Rod realized what was happening and quickly grabbed Frost by the neck and pulled it away.

"Calm down, don't fight, we're all on the same side."

Frost let out a low growl, but seemed to understand Rhodes' words and did not make a move.

Thunder, having rolled over, lowered its head, took two steps back in fear, dared not howl again, and kept its tail close to the ground.

Seeing Thunder's aggrieved expression, Rod threw it a piece of jerky.

Before Thunder could even take a bite, Frost rushed over and pushed it aside, swallowing the jerky whole.

Thunder, standing nearby, let out a mournful cry and tried to resist, but took two steps back as Frost turned its head.

"I thought you were a well-behaved dragon, but I didn't expect you to be so domineering."

Left with no other choice, Rhodes could only feed the domineering Frost first.

Frost and Thunder were just vying for a place in the nest, and the winner would have the right to eat first.

This is normal for Warcraft, and Rhodes did not interfere.

After Frost had eaten its fill, Rhodes began feeding Thunder.

However, this time, after eating, Frost did not fall asleep. Instead, it kept sniffing the iron ore beneath it, as if searching for something.

"How could I have forgotten about it?"

Rhodes tossed the jerky to Thunder, then reached over the iron ore and pulled out the Spirit Gem from the bottom.

Frost lunged forward to snatch the Spirit Gem the moment it appeared, but Rhodes swiftly dodged it. "Hmm? You've gotten used to stealing it already?"

Rhodes withdrew his strength and slapped Frost.

"I am not your compatriot. You can only eat if I give you food. You cannot take food from me if I don't give it to you."

Luo De's tone was calm, but the aura of a dragon slayer he exuded made Han Shuang's body tremble slightly.

It was still defiant, its neck stiff and growling, but now when Rod raised his hand again, it squinted its eyes, shrank its neck, and lay down on the ground.

Its expression is similar to that of a tabby cat caught rummaging through the cupboards.

Upon seeing its appearance, Rod immediately stopped and did not continue to torment it.

It's okay to discipline a disobedient child, but being too strict can easily make them lose courage.

"You can't eat this, at least not now."

Rhodes carefully put away the Spirit Gem.

It wasn't that Rod was reluctant to part with it.

But Frost was just a newborn wyvern, and no one knew what would happen if it ate it.

If nothing happens, that's fine. But if it causes irreparable damage, then it would be a loss.

Seeing Frost's fearful expression, Rod reached out and touched it, then tossed it a piece of meat.

After swallowing it whole, the little guy lay down beside me, closed his eyes, and soon began to snore contentedly.

At this moment, Thunder was completely different from its arrogant self when it was first born. It folded its wings and stayed to the side, obediently waiting for Rhode to feed it.

Rod brought out all the jerky and placed it in front of it, letting it eat as much as it wanted.

Thunder soon finished eating, lay down in the corner, and fell asleep with the iron ore as his pillow.

The two little ones were finally born safely.

Rhodes stretched and ordered the guards to keep a close watch on them and report any incidents immediately.

By the time Rhodes stepped out of the cabin where Frost and Thunder had been hatching, night had already fallen.

He was thinking about what to eat when he saw Millie leaning against the wall, sitting on the ground with her head down.

The maid, Lia, stood helplessly to one side, holding a torch.

Rod quickly stepped forward, frowning slightly. "Millie, what are you doing here?"

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Millie immediately looked up and rushed to Rod, hugging him tightly.

"Hungry……"

Millie let out a weak, soft gasp.

"Who told you to sit here and wait? Couldn't you have told Leah if you were hungry?"

Even so, Rod still picked her up.

Lia, who was in charge of looking after her, quickly followed and bowed apologetically.
"I'm sorry, sir, she's been staying here and won't leave, so I have no choice but to stay and keep her company..."

"It's alright, it's not your fault. Go and prepare some food for me."

Rod had already sensed that Millie seemed to have some mental issues and was unusually timid.

Perhaps they were frightened in the wild, or perhaps they were terrified by the continuous nightmares they had at night.

On the way back, Rod asked Millie what had happened, but she refused to say anything and seemed very scared.

Rhodes deduced that she must have encountered something terrible in the woods that Lady Rose had mentioned.

Children are easily frightened.

Rhodes planned to ask the herbalist Luna if she had any medicinal soup that could cure fright.

Lia quickly brought Rhodes his meal.

Herb-braised pork knuckle, chicken stew with chestnuts and carrots, pickled cucumbers and wild vegetables, roasted white fish, and roasted venison.

Having endured harsh weather and sleeping outdoors in the wilderness, Rod splurged a little on his first day back, enjoying a good meal.

Meanwhile, in order to quickly complete the hunting skill, he was eating meat as much as possible, and needed to eat wild vegetables to cut through the richness.

He has already eaten a total of 67 kilograms of meat, but he is still far from his goal.

Millie probably hadn't seen much of the world either, sitting next to Rod, she was gnawing on a pig's trotter with her mouth full of oil.

After finishing her meal, she picked out the bones from the plate and carefully sucked on them to make sure not a single piece of meat was left.

Seeing this, Durant placed the pig's trotters from his plate in front of Millie.

He then wiped his mouth and began to report to Rhodes on the affairs of the territory over the past few days.

"Just as you predicted, there have indeed been more refugees on the southeastern border, a total of thirteen scattered around, and I have already settled them all."

"There isn't much open space left in the town, so we might need to start planning ahead of time."

"Ok, I know."

Rhodes nodded.

The number of slaves continues to grow, and Frostleaf Town will inevitably need to expand sooner or later.

However, Rod hadn't yet gathered enough building materials, so the expansion project hadn't been put on the agenda.

"There is another matter that requires your personal decision."

Durant took a wax-sealed envelope from his pocket and personally handed it to Rod.

"Just before dinner, the lord of Icewind Valley sent this letter, it seems to be something very important."
