Doomsday America

Chapter 72 Brainless Scoundrels

Chapter 72 Brainless Scoundrels
As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin patted Eugene on the shoulder.

He then released Eugene and spoke to Madison.

"Old Mike, you stay here with Eugene and pack up the guns and accessories. I'm going to change my clothes."

"Now that I'm home, I should naturally change back into the Texas cowboy look, and besides, I haven't worn my cowboy hat in a long time!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin slung a Tactical Master PV pistol over his left hip and a Black Eagle Collector's Edition Colt Python over his right hip, and strode out of the gun room.

Seeing Gavin leave, Madison sighed and leaned closer to Eugene.

"The boss is still worried about the people. After all, although zombies are dangerous, they won't hide and shoot you."

"Yes, of course."

Upon hearing this, Eugene simply nodded.

"Today, there are only three moments that I fear most. One is when I'm hiding on a billboard and watching thousands of zombies walk under me."

"The other one was when I saw that damned zombie cow on the farm."

"As for the last one, damn it, that really gave me the creeps. I watched the bullet fly over my head and hit the passenger seat!"

"Damn it, a madman who's on drugs and has incredible marksmanship is more dangerous than zombies or zombie cows!"

"Even before the end of the world, America had no shortage of crazy people who would shoot indiscriminately."

"As the apocalypse drags on, I can guess with my own ass what kind of outrageous lunatics and cultists will spring up from the ground!"

At this point, Eugene tightened the silencer on the HK in his hand, then picked it up and gestured with it.

Seeing Eugene's serious movements, Madison grinned and said to him with a simple and honest expression.

"If you hadn't met us, I think you would have become that kind of madman too. Of course, I might have gone mad too, right?"

"Yes."

Eugene nodded emphatically and gave Madison a sly grin.

"Of course people would go crazy if they had no choice, but if they did have a choice, who wouldn't want to live a better life? And now we have a choice, don't we?"

"So, I'm fucking grateful to the quarterback. He's better than God to me, really, haha~"

Hearing the laughter coming from the gun room, Gavin smiled and quickened his pace, crossing the corridor to the third floor.

He did not rush to his dressing room immediately, but went to the control center and monitoring center.

After arriving here, Gavin studied the system for a while before figuring out how to turn off the part of the control system for all the door locks in the entire house.

From now on, no door in this house will need to be opened with Gavin's fingerprint or pupil scan.

This could lead to team members opening doors randomly or accidentally.

But Gavin preferred to trust his own methods of controlling his team members rather than an overly intelligent door lock system that would automatically unlock the garage door at any moment.

After resetting the door-locking process to manual, Gavin walked through the bedroom to the bathroom and took off all his clothes.

He'd been wanting to take a shower for ages, really!
Ever since he remembered that Gigi, whom he had just talked to, had turned into a zombie, he had wanted to take a good shower!
Gavin quickly turned on the shower and rushed into the water, scrubbing his body thoroughly, especially the parts where he had interacted with Gigi.

After a quick wash, Gavin leaned against the waterproof showerhead mirror, looking at his reflection in the water.

He suddenly wanted to ask himself a question.

How far can you get in the apocalypse?

The question came suddenly, and after a brief moment of confusion, Gavin shook his head, trying to banish it from his mind.

Turning off the shower, the heating system quickly dried Gavin's body. Gavin let the warm air dry his body, then went to the dressing room and picked out a regular denim outfit.

The sturdy and durable work pants and the tight-fitting, durable pullover are both made of puncture-resistant material.

In America, every wealthy person is prepared to protect themselves in countless situations, and Gavin was no exception.

Aside from brand-name items, most of the clothes in his home have basic stab protection, and he also owns dozens of bulletproof vests.

After choosing his clothes, Gavin picked out a brown leather jacket and casually put it on.

At this point, a set of cowboy gear has been almost completely selected.

There's only one left.

hat!

On a Texas farm, you can be skinny and on drugs all day, or you can be fat and bloated with sugar and fat.

But you absolutely cannot be without a hat that belongs to you!
Some say pistol duels were the essence of the cowboy era, while revolvers and spurs were the symbols of the cowboy. Perhaps so; those things do indeed serve as symbols of the cowboy to some extent.

But for a real cowboy...

Only his cowboy hat is his true self!

Gavin walked to the center of the dressing room and pushed the wall in front of him aside.

The next moment, hundreds of hats of all kinds appeared in front of him.

Gavin picked up the dark blue cowboy hat on the top left.

The hat has dark red antler patterns sewn on its brim, and two pale gold fish-scale patterned leather cords tied in a simple knot around the brim.

Looking at the hat in front of him, Gavin took a deep breath and silently put the hat on his head.

This hat was made by his mother and given to him by hand.

It was also the first cowboy hat he received after becoming an adult.

As the leader of the team, Gavin was in pain, regardless of his own situation.

He must be the strongest and toughest one in the team!
The current team only has eight people, which hardly qualifies as a team. At best, it's like a small, temporarily formed family, with members of all ages and genders.

At the same time, the team members are all of good quality, so Gavin doesn't need to do anything extra to maintain control and management of the team for the time being.

But Gavin knew that as long as they survived longer in the apocalypse, the team would eventually expand.

Gavin is a cautious man, and he will never leave himself any flaws that could jeopardize his position and safety, as long as he deems it necessary!
For example, let Eugene, a former soldier, see any weakness in him!
Thinking of this, Gavin raised his right hand and flicked the brim of his hat with his finger.

Gavin chuckled softly, letting his gaze follow the brim of his hat to the mirror, and left the dressing room with his right hand on Colt's waist.

On his way back to the armory, he saw Eugene and Madison pretending to shoot at each other with two guns as soon as he entered.

While pretending to exchange fire, Eugene threw bullets at Madison, mimicking the sound of gunfire.

"Rat-a-tat-tat, haha, you black demon hunter, I have enough bullets here to kill you ten thousand times over!"

"You too, you red-haired vampire. I'm using a shotgun laced with holy water, so you're dead meat, hahaha... Haha... Boss, you're back?!"

Upon noticing Gavin's return, Madison, looking utterly astonished, holstered his gun, his eyes darting around awkwardly.

And Eugene...

Snapped!
He slapped his forehead, then quickly turned to Gavin to explain.

"You've got the wrong guy. We're not kidding around like this. That was all tactical drills!"

"You changed your clothes so quickly? Wow, that's really cool. Too bad I can't wear your clothes."

"After we burn those bodies tomorrow, do you want to come with me to the resort area to find some clothing stores? I'd like to get a couple of designer outfits to wear, preferably Baleno..."

At this point, Eugene himself felt embarrassed and simply shut his mouth, which he had been trying to explain.

Watching the two gradually fall into an awkward silence.

Then look at the various bullets scattered all over the ground...

Gavin took a deep breath, strode out of the armory, and slammed the door shut behind him.

"It's all an illusion, it's all an illusion..."

After trying to convince himself for a couple of minutes at the door, he finally couldn't help but laugh and curse.

"Damn it, these brainless bastards..."

After speaking, he waited a moment, then turned around and pounded heavily on the armory door.

Boom!

"Ahem, please come in~"

As the sound came from the armory, Gavin pushed open the door and saw that Eugene and Madison had already pushed the scattered bullets into the corner.

After dealing with the stray bullets, Madison straightened up and, as if nothing had happened, greeted Gavin with a smile.

"Boss, you're back? Yu Jingang has installed all the accessories on the guns we can use. We'll calibrate them together tomorrow."

"Oh, right, we've also picked out guns for everyone, and we even picked out a cute Glock 43 for Winnie."

"Maybe we can teach her how to fire a gun tomorrow!"
