Chapter 117 Hall Ray Pattern
In the early morning, bright sunlight streamed through the glass, filling the room.

Anser sat up, glanced around the cozy room, and then lay back down.

"Was that a dream? That's a bit strange."

Since becoming a professional, he has basically stopped dreaming, and his sleep quality has improved significantly.

He rolled out of bed. Everything in the room was normal, and there was nothing wrong with his body. On the contrary, he was full of energy and magic, and was in a very good state.

'Is he thinking about women?'

He pursed his lips, thinking that he must have been under too much pressure lately.

'I wonder how the Ammun are doing? Are they sleeping well?'

Thinking of this, he couldn't wait any longer. He chuckled and immediately got dressed, washed up, and went out.

A waiter was waiting outside. When he came out, the waiter bowed and led him directly to the restaurant.

Breakfast was prepared long ago, but he was the only one there; the others were not there.

The old butler said that Elise went out early in the morning, and if nothing unexpected happened, she should have gone to the city.

Anser ate breakfast alone, with the old butler and waiters attending to him, giving him the illusion that he was the master of the castle.

'No wonder everyone wants to be a nobleman; it feels really good.'

After finishing his meal, he flew to the city wall and set up his telescope to observe the Amm camp.

But the place was deserted; all the tents were gone, and there wasn't a soul in sight, only a mess left.

'They seem to have left in a hurry.'

The Ammunition must have sensed the problem, but they didn't know where the problem lay, so out of caution, they temporarily withdrew.

This retreat was exactly what Anser wanted.

To the south of Drag lies an important city called Naskel, which is adjacent to the Cloud Mist Mountains and serves as a vital gateway to the Kingdom of Amn.

This area also belongs to Am and has extremely high strategic value, serving as a bridgehead for Am's northward expansion.

Once those cursed treasures enter Nathkel, or even circulate, they will likely cause even greater panic and chaos, leaving Amn preoccupied with its own problems.

The Vault Curse is not fatal, but it is very torturous.

Anser was in a great mood. The Emerald Kingdom was troublesome enough, and Amn was still causing trouble. It was good to give them something to do.

'I'm going to stick the label of traitor on them again.' He decided to give Am a good talking-to.

At that moment, a black dot flew quickly from a distance. As it got closer, it was discovered to be a flying carpet with a figure sitting on it, a purple cloak fluttering in the wind.

The flying carpet suddenly changed direction, heading straight for Anser, and then hovered in front of him.

Elise looked at Anser with a worried expression, remaining silent for a long time.

"What's wrong?" Anser felt a little uneasy under her gaze.

“Baldur’s Gate is broken!” Elise said softly, as if afraid of startling him.

Anser frowned: "The upper city, or the whole area?"

“Except for Livington on the south bank, all the other districts have fallen into the hands of underground creatures. It is said that… the three dukes perished.” Elise raised her hand to tidy her wind-blown hair, but her gaze remained fixed on Anser.

"What a pity." Anser breathed a sigh of relief.

Everyone he cared about was in Livington: Rand, Zahir, Thoradin...

The fall of Baldur's Gate was somewhat expected, after all, it was not an accident, but rather a premeditated act.

"Is there no one in Baldur's Gate that you care about?" Elise sensed that Anser's reaction was abnormal.

Anser looked into the distance, his expression calm: "My parents, mentors, and classmates are all dead. Magic is all I have left to accompany me for the rest of my life. What is there to lament?" Elise fell silent, suddenly realizing she shouldn't have asked.

Anser had no idea what she was thinking. He had just spoken casually from the perspective of the original owner and hadn't paid much attention to it.

When did the Ammun leave?

Elise snapped out of her daze and replied, "I asked, and they left just as dawn broke."

Do you think they'll come back?

“No!” Elise said firmly, pointing her wand toward Claw Bay. “Someone has spotted traces of green dragons along the Bluewater City and Candlehold line, along with a large number of dragon guards.”

Abel's Emerald Kingdom may retaliate, with Candlekeep, Belgost, and Nathkel bearing the brunt.

The Ammunition are too busy dealing with their own problems to bother us.

Although Naskel is located just southwest of Dulag, its location along the coastal highway makes it easily accessible and more vulnerable to attack.

In comparison, the western side of Dulago is blocked by the fanged forest, making it relatively safer.

“Sounds pretty good.” Anser chuckled. After traveling for so long, he had finally escaped the front lines of the war.

The constant fighting is indeed exhilarating, and the leveling up is rapid, but it can be a bit nerve-wracking. It would be nice to take a break in the back and check out Amn's strength.

Ammu is always causing trouble and acting all high and mighty. The fertile land of the Emerald Plains is right in front of them; let's see if they have the ability to take it.

"I posted a quest in the Watchers' Guild to find resurrection items. If you have any connections, please ask around." Elise's brows furrowed with urgency. "Also, try to avoid going out unnecessarily."

The Amm won't launch a large-scale attack, but they'll likely send elite troops to assassinate you.

“Yes, I know.” Anser considered himself to have always been quite cautious.

After giving her a few words of advice, Elise went to the restaurant for breakfast.

Anser, however, seemed to be going against Elise's wishes, flying out of the castle in a high-profile manner and then flying low into the town.

He did it on purpose; he wanted the people in Durag to know that he had come from Jacquelineburg, in order to gain their trust and make it easier for him to recruit people.

Every town has organizations similar to intermediaries, and many guilds also have this function, helping to recruit people, purchase supplies, etc., which can save a lot of time.

Anser asked around as he walked and eventually found the Stonemasons' Guild.

This guild feels a bit like a talent market from my previous life. It's not just for craftsmen; you can find all the manpower needed for city construction here, many of whom are farmers who have lost their land.

As for why they didn't directly approach the farmers, it's because they have land to cultivate and are unwilling to take risks easily.

Only someone who is desperate would believe in Anser, a stranger.

The stonemasons' guild building is small but unique, seemingly a fusion of various styles. Even the murals, sculptures, and railings used for decoration are all different, showcasing their skills as well as serving as their calling card.

As soon as Anser stepped through the gate, a halfling came to greet him.

"Distinguished guest, may I ask what you need?" The halfling, dressed in a custom-made tuxedo, spoke with a shaky, erratic manner, which was somewhat comical.

“I’m hiring. I have a lot of uncultivated land in my territory that’s absolutely safe. I’ll pay 40% tax.” Anser didn’t waste any words and stated his intentions directly.

A 40% tax rate is definitely not high. In most places, agricultural taxes exceed 50%, and there are also all sorts of other miscellaneous taxes. Many farmers work hard all year but can't even save enough seeds for the following year.

"Where is your territory?" the halfling asked cautiously.

“Holrevan is very far away, and it’s hard for them to come back.” Anser didn’t hide anything, lest someone find it hard to accept. “I can guarantee their safety. Ask around and see if anyone is willing.”

“Holleyi…” the halfling muttered, his eyes blank.

"Anser?!" A voice suddenly rang out from outside the door.
