Super Magician: The Magic Network Collapsed Again at the Start
Chapter 2 Character Cards
Chapter 2 Character Cards
This item has no name and its origin is unknown. The dice are just the surface; its essence is a transcendent manifestation of some kind of rule.
The basic function is character cards; other abilities can only be activated by lighting up symbols on the dice.
"How do I activate it?" Anser pressed.
The dice did not respond, so they do not seem to have any intelligence.
View character cards.
The dice trembled slightly, projecting a screen of light filled with various data into his mind.

After quickly flipping through the character cards, Anser understood that this was a data panel based on DND rules.
'Silver-browed subspecies?'
It took Anser a while to remember that this silver-browed subspecies should be a dragon-blooded subspecies, from the metal dragons that love to roam the human world - the silver dragons.
One of the more common physical characteristics is the silver streaks or sheen in their hair, hence the name "silver forehead tribe".
The original owner was unaware of this information and had no magical abilities, probably because his bloodline was ancient and diluted.
This is quite common. The world of Toril is home to many races, and they live together in various forms. Some races have such strong reproductive abilities that they can break through species boundaries. Over the long course of history, countless strange hybrids have been born.
Aside from race, the original owner's attributes... were truly terrible!
In the D&D setting, a commoner's life points are 4, and their six major attributes are around 10.
A mage with an intelligence level below 10 will lose the ability to cast spells; below 8... is almost equivalent to being mentally challenged. In most cases, a character's attributes will not be lower than 8.
The original owner's attributes were only slightly better than those of an ordinary person. With only 12 points of intelligence, becoming a mage was extremely difficult.
Masters are a highly intelligent group, and it is extremely difficult for them to obtain the job. Ordinary people cannot obtain the job by simply studying hard.
The 14 points of charm are likely related to one's race.
Fortunately, the original owner was not entirely useless. Through diligent study, she mastered two additional languages and gained some basic knowledge of mysticism and history.
At this moment, the character card flickered. Anser gently touched it, and the character editing page popped up. From top to bottom, they were Origin (background, race), Class, and Attributes.
However, both the origin and attributes are grayed out.
'It seems the background, race, and attributes were inherited from the original owner and cannot be changed.' Anser was somewhat disappointed.
He clicked on the background section, and a prompt appeared on the character card:
"We have detected that you have a noble or wise background. You can choose one as your character's origin. This will increase your attribute values, feats, and skill proficiency."
'Hmm... choosing one of the two isn't so bad.'
He checked them one by one and found that the background information was rather far-fetched.
Nobility likely comes from surnames; Anser himself did not hold any title and was a commoner through and through.
The wise man was somewhat reliable; after all, he spent countless days and nights studying books and volumes, and reading about diverse worlds, so he could barely be considered a scholar. His heart yearned for more, but alas, he was a poor student.
Nobles gain increased strength, intelligence, and charisma, and the "Familiarity" specialization. Wise men gain increased constitution, intelligence, and perception, and the "Magic Apprentice" specialization.
Anser didn't rush to choose, and continued to check the races.
Race: Human
"Biological type": Humanoid
Body type: Medium
"Trait":
Attribute bonus: Add 1 to each of the two selected different attributes.
Skill: You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice.
Versatile: You gain an origin specialty of your choice.
"Two attributes, one specialty, and three skills." Anser raised an eyebrow, his heart filled with excitement.
After taking the job, his background and race will grant him five attribute points and two specializations, which is quite good. Finally, opening the job options will bring up 13 icons.
Barbarian (Strength), Warrior (Strength or Agility), Paladin (Strength or Charisma)
Priest (Perception), Druid (Perception), Monk (Agility or Perception)
Ranger (Agility or Perception), Wanderer (Agility)
Warlock (Charisma), Spellcaster (Charisma), Bard (Charisma)
Mage (Intelligence), Mechanic (Intelligence)
These are all primary occupations, and after taking up a job, one can choose from a large number of sub-occupations.
Each profession has a different primary attribute, and most of them have spellcasting abilities, but only mages, warlocks, priests, druids, and bards can be called full spellcasters, as they can master 9th-level spells at level 17.
'Why are these professions covered by varying shades of black and red?' Anser frowned slightly, a sense of foreboding creeping into his heart.
He gently touched the dark red mage class with his mind, and two notifications immediately popped up:
"The magic network is in disarray, and uncontrolled primal magic is surging. Please cast spells with caution!"
"The character's innate intelligence level is too low. Please choose carefully!"
He had anticipated the first point; the word 'disorder' was probably more accurate. The magic network had likely not completely collapsed, as the distant battlefield was still flickering with magical light and shadow.
The second one is a bit hurtful.
His low intelligence is a major weakness. If he could freely allocate his attributes like in a game, he could raise his main attribute to over 16 at level 1. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any extra attribute points.
In DND, you can only choose one feat or two attribute points every four levels. If your initial attributes are too low, you have to give up your precious feat, which will greatly reduce your potential strength.
'It seems the magic network has the greatest impact on mages,' Anser thought to himself.
The turmoil in the magic network can't stop those mages with exceptional intelligence, but ordinary mages are in a terrible situation and can only make a living by using magic tricks.
Since we can't choose the mage class, let's switch to another one.
He needs a level 1 job that can help him escape this abyss, without worrying about the future. DND allows for unlimited part-time jobs; as long as the stats meet the requirements, he can always take on another job at level 2.
'We have to climb up!' He looked up at the cliff face and waterfall, tens of meters high, a sense of urgency rising in his heart. 'Before it collapses here.'
If you fall into the dark underworld, even if you don't die from the fall, you will be overwhelmed by the swarms of underground creatures.
Professionals have strong athletic abilities, but relying solely on physical strength is extremely dangerous. It's best to use magic to save their lives, such as Mage's Hand, Feather Fall, or Jumping.
"The spellcaster should take priority, and it would be best to treat the injury on my leg as well," Anser said, looking at his numb right leg.
He first touched upon the grayish-brown profession of priesthood:
"Plain believers cannot become pastors!"
Anser was helpless; it was too late to send a letter now. The priest's magic came from the god he believed in, and the consequences of being discovered would be severe.
He looked around and saw that all the spellcasting professions were shrouded in an ominous red glow, with bards and druids glowing intensely, while spellcasters and warlocks glowed relatively faintly.
A sorcerer, also known as a magician, borrows power from a sovereign (angel, high fairy, demon, etc.) through a contract. It sounds unsettling, so let's put that aside for now.
Clicking on the Warlock class will immediately display relevant information:
"A dragon's blessing, a treant present at the birth of a baby, or being struck by lightning on a clear day can all activate a warlock's talents."
"Gifts from the gods, exposure to the strange magic of other planes, or a glimpse into the principles of reality can turn ordinary people into sorcerers..."
"Warlocks don't study magic; their surging primal magic is something they are born with..."
To Anser's surprise, warlocks can choose the [Spell Origins] subclass at level one:
Distorted Mind, Time-Modification, Dragon Magic, Wild Magic, Divine Soul, Shadow Magic, Storm Magic.
However, five out of the seven sub-positions are grayed out!
supplement:
1. The D&D character cards are quite complex, and listing them all might confuse readers who are not familiar with this type of rule. Therefore, the character cards have been simplified and only the core data has been listed.
2. Attribute Description:
Strength: Muscle strength, exercise training, and the physical potential that can be realized.
Agility: flexibility, responsiveness, and balance.
Physical condition: health, endurance, and vitality.
Intelligence: thinking ability, memory ability, and logical ability.
Perception: intuition, observation, insight, and mental resilience.
Charisma: The manifestation of the light of the soul, possessing tangible magical power, influencing magic, spellcasting, and social interaction, manifesting as temperament, demeanor, affability, and attractiveness.
High charm doesn't necessarily mean being handsome; it's a magical inner attraction.
3. Absolute neutrality: The initial state of most ordinary people, with survival as their primary goal and avoiding factional conflicts.
Alignment is not static.
4. Techniques of Time: "Guiding the power of order in the universe." Requires alignment with the Lawful faction.
Divine Soul: "A spark of divine power shining within the soul." Anser has absolutely no connection to any divine being.
5. Choose the variant human race from 5E.
