Chapter 82 Dragon Taming Tribe
The distance is too great for the dice to detect, but the dragons all have distinct features, making them difficult to mistake.

For example, the green dragon has a long, thin tail that makes up more than half of its body size, making it look like a large flying lizard.

'It looks like a fully grown dragon. I can't afford to mess with it.' Anser silently flew back to the ship.

The adult green dragon has a challenge level of 15, is extremely fast, and has almost no weaknesses except for its lack of agility.

Poor agility is not a weakness; large creatures all have similar drawbacks, and all dragons are no exception.

"What's wrong?" Salian noticed Anser's unusual expression and rushed over, looking anxious.

“It’s nothing.” Anser took a deep breath. “I saw an adult green dragon.”

"Ah..." The group was shocked.

Dragons also exist in Faerûn, but as human power has grown stronger, scenes of dragons wreaking havoc in cities have become rare, and many ordinary people have never seen a dragon in their entire lives.

“They went east; perhaps they also want to figure out what happened.” Anser stroked his chin thoughtfully.

Abel's dragon faction is divided according to the types of dragons. Metal dragons and colored dragons are irreconcilable and fight on sight, with no possibility of forming an alliance.

In other words, the surrounding area belongs to the territory of the Color Dragon.

This is not good news, because the chromatic dragons belong to the evil alignment, the green and blue dragons are more lawful, and the rest are chaotic evil. You can never guess what they are thinking.

"Can we get out of here? Is it feasible to turn back?" Salian had doubts. "If all else fails, we can abandon ship."

Let alone an adult dragon, they couldn't handle even a young one. After a few breaths of venomous breath, everyone on the ship was on the verge of collapsing and vomiting.

“There are plains ahead, about thirty or forty miles away,” Anser replied.

"Then let's see how it goes." Salian knew that heading north wasn't realistic. "I wonder how Silverscale Bay is doing?"

“I suspect that the Underdark was the first to undergo a fusion of realms, with those subterranean creatures forming an alliance. I’m afraid the Baldur’s Gate won’t be able to hold…” Anser could only speculate based on the available information, but the possibility was very high.

Moreover, he suspected that these disasters were just the tip of the iceberg, and that there might be even greater unrest taking place throughout Toril, though it had not yet spread.

“Everything’s in chaos…” Salian turned to look at the jungle and remained silent for a long time.

Anser, on the contrary, had gotten used to it. When he transmigrated, disaster was always with him. Now that he had escaped the calamity of Silverscale Bay, he had finally gotten ahead of the disaster. It was a cause for celebration.

The Quesser continued its voyage, its speed barely reaching two or three knots, as it was surrounded by trees and couldn't go any faster.

As they walked, the waterway gradually shifted southwest.

To the left of the waterway are sea cliffs, with relatively low cloak forests on top. To the right is an ancient jungle, where dinosaurs are constantly trying to escape from the ancient jungle into the cloak forest, afraid of missing out on the buffet.

It's not that Abel is stronger than Toril. The Cloak Forest is closer to human civilization, so there are fewer ferocious beasts and monsters, while Abel has no human civilization and most of the area is very primitive, with countless monsters and wild beasts.

Anser didn't go off on a wild spree just because his strength had increased. He stayed on the boat and, besides challenging the Tyrannosaurus Rex at level 8, there were several other colossal dinosaurs, such as the Pteranodon, the Horned Dragon, and the Indra, whose strength was no less than that of many giant dragons.

Even while on the ship, he never had a moment of peace. The various dinosaurs in the forest were too rampant and didn't take the "weak" humanoid creatures seriously at all, and sporadic attacks never stopped.

Anser accepted all comers, even a Deinonychus could be dealt with with two freezing rays, and he gained several hundred more experience points in half a day.

Most Deinonychus have less than 30 health points, making them fragile assassins; even at their fastest speed, they can't outrun a ray.

During this time, he also captured two four-winged Microraptors, which are about the size of chickens, are skilled hunters in the forest, and are very agile.

However, when faced with two tiny dinosaurs that were not very intelligent or had low attributes, his attempts to make friends with them failed one after another.

It wasn't a matter of strength, but rather that the Microraptor had just been captured and was still in a state of combat, so it was very hostile and wouldn't fall for his "charm".

Anser wasn't in a hurry. He'd lock him up and let him go hungry for a couple of meals first. This thing was like training a hawk; it needed a little time.

In the evening, the QUESTER docked at a towering tree.

The jungle was extremely dangerous at night, so Salian ordered the boats to stop early and found a relatively wide waterway to rest.

There were no lights on the ship, and even the windows of the first-floor restaurant were covered with black cloth to prevent any light from shining out.

Salian deliberately assigned crew members with night vision to be on duty, so that they wouldn't be caught off guard by monsters sneaking up on them.

In a corner of the dining hall, the crew members who had finished dinner were asked to go down and rest, and not to go up on deck unless absolutely necessary. Anser, Salian, and Careno sat together, discussing tomorrow's arrangements.

The three of them are the ship's main fighters, and they're also quite intelligent; you can't help but worry about them.

As for spellcasters like First Mate Colin and Kafka, they couldn't cast a single spell and had to do logistical work.

"We can leave the forest tomorrow morning. The waterway flows into a river, which connects to a lake and a swamp. The eastern side of the lake is the edge of the Cloak Forest. The terrain hasn't changed."

"There are tribes living around the river and swamp, and I saw smoke rising from their chimneys..." Anser explained what he had discovered during the day.

"Is the lake Abel's lake, or the original Sword Sea?" Salian asked.

“Abel,” Anser said with certainty.

“Abandon ship if necessary.” Salian gritted his teeth.

He was reluctant to part with the Quesser, but he also knew that his responsibility was to bring everyone home.

“Yes, let’s head north along the coastal highway,” Carreno suggested.

He was the last person who wanted to go south, his mind was entirely on his sister whose fate was unknown.

“We have a responsibility to all the crew members. Why don’t we head south to Candlekeep, settle things down, and then think of another way?” Salian understood his feelings, but the area around Baldur’s Gate was a den of monsters, and they couldn’t go there at all.

"It's too early to think about these things now." Seeing that Kaleno still wanted to say something, Anser quickly spoke up, "I'm going to meditate. Stay on high alert and call me if anything happens."

“Okay, Kaleno will take the first half of the night shift, and I’ll take the second half.” Salian nodded.

Throughout the day, he harbored a deep hatred for species like dinosaurs, and was either fighting or on his way to fight.

Anser hummed in agreement, drank the tea in his cup, and got up to go downstairs.

The ancient jungle wasn't just home to dinosaurs; all sorts of creatures could have appeared there. Perhaps to those creatures skilled at hunting at night, humanoids' lack of awareness was quite poor, so it's not surprising that they were included in their diet.

Fortunately, the hull of the elf ship is essentially a mobile castle. It can't withstand artillery fire, but it's sufficient to defend against attacks from ordinary creatures.
-
At dawn, Anser noticed the ship shake and began to slowly accelerate, hearing the splashing sound of the ship breaking through the water.

"Finally, some peace and quiet." He turned over, closed his eyes to rest for a while, and then sat up.

Last night, the deck was quite lively, with small to medium-sized nocturnal hunters constantly sneaking up by the scent. Fortunately, the crew was cautious, and with Nornos's help, no one was injured.

The smell of blood attracted more predators, who then surrounded the waterways, only to become prey for others. The surrounding jungle descended into chaos as fighting and chasing continued throughout the night. Everyone was on edge, and many did not sleep a wink.

The most energetic one was Nornos, who was still full of energy after fighting all night and had earned more than 200 experience points. If Anser hadn't prevented it from leaving the ship, it might have joined the melee.

Salian stood at the bow of the ship, looking at Nornos who had just come ashore after being washed in the water, and was filled with emotion.

Like master, like mount.

Anser ate a simple breakfast and went to the bow of the ship to relieve Salian.

"Let's go eat. We'll be out of the forest in a few miles. I'll ride ahead and take a look."

"Be careful." Salian nodded.

There are several primitive tribes ahead, so it's good to scout them out beforehand. If Anser can't communicate with them, it'll be a waste for anyone else to go.

Anser mounted Nornos, leaped off the deck, and rode along the waterway.

Animals are noticeably fewer at the edge of the forest, and the waterways are wider, with numerous footprints and traces of primitive civilization visible on both sides.

The sound of water gradually grew louder, and after rounding a giant tree, the view suddenly opened up dramatically.

A river, twenty or thirty meters wide, meanders into the distance. On the west bank of the river, there is a tribe living in rough wooden houses and animal skin tents. Many figures are busy at work. They are tall and strong, about two meters tall, with thick hair, large ears, and strange dark green or bronze skin.

'They don't seem to be of the Faerûn race.' Anser couldn't find a race in his memory that matched the physical characteristics of these people.

What's most surprising is that the tribe also has a considerable number of dinosaurs, of various kinds, mainly small and medium-sized carnivorous dinosaurs, with a few large dinosaurs even wearing simple saddles.

'They actually managed to tame dinosaurs!'
