Chapter 65 Making friends out of nowhere

Chapter 65 Making friends out of nowhere
Because Steve was wearing a hat, Peter didn't realize that his idol was right in front of him.

They didn't even notice that their idol was looking at them with an expression that seemed to want to expel them from the fandom.

Peter snapped over a dozen photos of the magazine before turning to Du Mu again: "By the way, what are you doing here? Are you also a Captain America fan?"

"No, I just brought this Mr. Rogers here for a look around."

Du Mu shook his head and pointed to Steve beside him: "As for whether he's a fan of Captain America, that depends on how narcissistic he is."

Peter: "?"

He still couldn't understand Du Mu's words, just like always.

"By the way, how are things going between you and that red-haired girl?" Du Mu asked gossipily.

Last time Peter transformed into Spider-Man to save Mary Jane, her eyes were practically drooling with admiration when she looked at him.

According to normal procedure, the two should have already finished discussing the practical applications of friction and the Pythagorean theorem by now.

Upon hearing this, Peter's expression became somewhat complicated: "Mary Jane has broken up with Lightning. I heard it's because during the last incident, Lightning ran too fast and left her alone."

"Isn't this a good thing? Why do you look like that?"

"But she recently started dating another guy, and he's my best friend."

Du Mu raised an eyebrow.

No wonder Peter looked so miserable; his goddess and his best friend were dating, which was indeed hard to accept.

Du Mu patted Peter on the shoulder: "Don't be discouraged, maybe you still have a chance. What are your friend's conditions like?"

Peter honestly replied, "He's the heir to the Osborne Group, tall and handsome, with a cheerful personality, and incredibly knowledgeable."

Du Mu nodded: "Very good, now you have absolutely no chance."

Peter: "."

Peter hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice and asked, "Du Mu, I have a question for you."

"what is the problem?"

"Here's the thing, I have a friend who likes a girl, but that girl likes his other identity."

As we all know, everyone has a special friend who only appears when it's time to take the blame.

Peter continued his fabricated story: "So my friend had no choice but to use that identity to get close to the girl, and their relationship actually got better and better. But the problem is, the girl has no idea about my friend's real identity at all. Now he's really conflicted and doesn't know whether he should tell the girl the truth."

Du Mu immediately understood that Peter was referring to Spider-Man.

Clearly, Peter has succeeded, albeit under the guise of Spider-Man.

But Peter Parker remains a single man.

Mary Jane really knows how to play the game. She's dating the heir to the Osborn Group on one hand, and getting hot and fuzzy with Spider-Man on the other. She might as well just change her name to Mary Sue.

Du Mu thought for a moment and then earnestly advised, "I advise you to be honest."

“It wasn’t me, it was my friend,” Peter corrected.

"Oh right, your friend, after all, he can't live under another identity forever."

Upon hearing this, Peter's heart stirred, as if he had made up his mind.

He no longer wanted to approach Mary Jane simply as Spider-Man.

He wanted Mary Jane to like Peter Parker, not Spider-Man.

Even if he fails, he will have no regrets!
At worst, I'll just have to live my life in a Spider-Man costume from now on!
Peter said gratefully, “I understand, oh no, I mean my friend will understand, thank you, Mu.”

"You're welcome. If you ever have any more fun like this, feel free to come to me anytime."

Du Mu waved his hand and offered his contact information. Such a complex web of emotions was truly rare, and he was very curious about how Peter's story would unfold.

Peter got Du Mu's contact information, chatted for a few minutes, and then left to continue collecting materials for his report, such as the tear-jerking love story between Captain America and his friend Bucky.

Are kids these days all so complicated about relationships?

After Peter left, Steve, who had remained silent for fear of revealing his identity, finally couldn't help but speak up.

Although he didn't know Peter's Spider-Man identity, he understood the general meaning.

Compared to Peter's complicated feelings, Steve suddenly realized that it wasn't such a big deal that his first love had become a married woman.

Du Mu shrugged: "This is just an isolated case. Peter is probably cursed, because he's surrounded by all sorts of awful people."

"No wonder."

Steve nodded in deep agreement.

Indeed, isn't this person the absolute best of the best?

Then, the two saw Steve's embarrassing past in the exhibition area.

After being injected with the Super Soldier Serum, Steve became an arts soldier, spending his days carrying a shield, wearing a tight-fitting suit, and performing with a group of scantily clad girls to promote government bonds.

Back then, many rich girls, ladies, and even wealthy men were after Steve's butt.

The costume designer even made Steve's uniform more form-fitting, which led to tickets for the dance troupe being resold at exorbitant prices, setting a sales record for the year.

The past is too painful to recall, and Steve vows never to sell his ass for money again!

Finally, Steve couldn't take it anymore and urged Du Mu to leave quickly and head to the next place.

This isn't a Captain America memorial; it's clearly an archive of Captain America's dark history!
He even suspected that this place might have been created by one of his little grudges.

After leaving the Captain America Memorial, Du Mu took Steve on a long drive around New York.

The endless stream of novelties in this new century truly broadened the horizons of Steve, this old-fashioned man.

While driving, they even witnessed a street gunfight, in which several armed robbers were engaged in a fierce firefight with more than a dozen New York police officers.

Seeing this, Steve was about to get out of the car to help.

Suddenly, a red and blue figure descended from the sky, swinging on spider silk, and cleanly and efficiently dealt with the armed bandits.

"I'm your friendly neighbor, Spider-Man!"

Spider-Man leaps into the air, does a split in mid-air, and then swings on a swing to head to the next film set.

Steve was stunned. He turned to look at Du Mu, who didn't even bother to lift his eyelids.

"You don't seem surprised at all?"

Du Mu said matter-of-factly, "Come on, this is New York. We've seen all sorts of strange and wonderful things here. Compared to the battles between steel mechs, giants over three meters tall fighting bare-knuckle, and all those weird vampires and aliens, this little scene is nothing."

Steve was speechless.

Are New York City residents really living such a miserable life these days?
Du Mu originally wanted to show Steve some of New York's nightlife, but Steve refused outright.

He was really shocked today; he needs time to process it.

Du Mu couldn't help but feel a little regretful. He had originally wanted to take the opportunity to have the game system capture the precious scene of Captain America with two women on his left and right, and then post it in the Hydra internal group later.

Having no other choice, he had to arrange a new place for Steve to stay.

Of course, it was all SHIELD's public funds used.
