Chapter 73 Reencounter with Gwen
Chapter 73 Reencounter with Gwen
Several days have passed, and there is still no news of Loki from Asgard.
It is rumored that Loki has successfully escaped Asgard.
Since the Rainbow Bridge was initially built, many natural cosmic intersections were formed throughout Asgard, allowing for teleportation to other realms. Loki may very well have left Asgard through one of these intersections.
It's unclear what methods Loki used, but after leaving Asgard, he managed to block Heimdall's senses. Even Heimdall, with his All-Seeing Eye, didn't know Loki's exact location.
When Saul woke up and learned of the news, he was devastated and became depressed all day. His appetite even decreased, and he could only eat half a roasted lamb. No one could persuade him to eat it.
After all, Loki held a very high position in his heart, even Mjolnir could only be ranked second, not to mention Jane.
Unless it's Jane wielding Thor's hammer, there might be a slight chance of her fighting back.
Du Mu, lacking both the coldness of Thor's hammer and the warmth of Jane's pectoral muscles, was powerless to help.
So Du Mu activated the teleportation and returned to the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters on Earth.
He walked out of the headquarters, picked a lucky car, skillfully opened the door, connected the jumper cables, started the engine, and drove off.
The whole process took less than a few minutes!
However, to be fair, this teleportation landing point is really inconvenient.
Every time Du Mu returns to Earth from Asgard, his landing point is always the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. It's fine when he has a mission, but if he doesn't have a mission and wants to go somewhere else, he has to spend a lot of extra time traversing the map.
"It seems we really need to activate the other teleportation points as soon as possible. At this rate, S.H.I.E.L.D. won't have enough vehicles."
With that thought in mind, Du Mu immediately drove towards the Stark Tower.
This wasn't Du Mu's first time here; the last time he came was...
As soon as Du Mu entered the building, he went into the restroom with practiced ease, took out a Stanislavski mask, and put it on his head.
Du Stanislav Mu is back!
Incidentally, Du Mu usually wears the GANTZ enhanced suit, but he still wears other clothes and pants on top.
Although he has his own set of aesthetics, it's better to forget about someone like Matt the lawyer who just wears a tight-fitting outfit and runs around in the street with his balls sticking out.
After changing into a sharp suit, Du Mu walked out of the restroom and strolled leisurely around the Stark Tower.
He still had the access card Tony had given him earlier, which allowed him to move around almost freely throughout the entire building.
Good afternoon, Mr. Stanislav!
Several longtime Stark Industries employees recognized Stanislav's face and instinctively greeted him.
"Yes, keep up the good work and continue to contribute to the company. I'll be watching you."
Du Mu calmly nodded and continued exploring the Stark Tower map.
But soon, the veteran employees gradually realized that something was wrong. Hadn't Stanislavsky already passed away?
In an instant, a sense of panic spread rapidly throughout Stark Tower.
Du Mu was strolling around the building when his phone suddenly rang. It was Tony calling.
"crooked?"
Are you at Stark Tower?
"how do you know?"
"It's all because of your disguise. Now the whole Stark Industries is saying that Stanislavski's ghost has come back to life and is secretly urging the employees to work like crazy. They're even saying that a capitalist is still a capitalist even when he's dead."
Tony's tone was full of resentment.
He was having a great chat with Chili and was about to discuss the waterway excavation project further when Jarvis suddenly sent this urgent message, and the excavation equipment immediately shut down.
After seeing the surveillance footage from Jarvis, Tony immediately guessed that it was Du Mu who did it.
After all, this was how Du Mu infiltrated Stark Tower last time to steal Stanislav Steiner's hidden documents.
"What are you up to now?" Tony asked through gritted teeth.
"Nothing much, just browsing around," Du Mu replied honestly.
But Tony didn't believe it at all; he even suspected that it was that sallow-faced chief who had secretly instigated it again.
When he first met Nick Fury, he felt that the man was not a good person. How could a good person dress in all black all day and wear a pirate-like eye patch?
It has to be said that everyone's first impression of Nick Fury is surprisingly consistent.
"Get rid of your disguise right now. I'll have Pepper send someone to show you around Stark Tower," Tony said irritably. He didn't want any more bizarre rumors to circulate within the company.
I heard that the Osborn Group was also rumored to have the ghost of Stanislavsky resurrected a while ago, which must be related to this guy.
"also."
Shortly after removing his disguise, Du Mu met the guide sent by Little Chili.
"Huh? Gwen?"
Du Mu looked surprised.
The guide sent by Chili Pepper turned out to be Gwen Stacy, his assistant at the Osborne Group.
"Doom, how could it be you!?"
Gwen was equally surprised, never expecting to meet Du Mu here again.
Du Mu asked in surprise, "Weren't you always an intern at Osborn Corporation? What are you doing at Stark Industries?"
Gwen's expression was somewhat complicated as she explained, "When you suddenly disappeared from the Osborn Group, Mr. Osborn immediately contacted me, demanding to know your whereabouts, but I really didn't know anything. In a fit of anger, he fired me."
"Later, I heard that Stark Industries was advancing a new energy and clean energy project, so I submitted my resume and came here as an intern."
"Ah this."
Du Mu was somewhat embarrassed, not expecting that this was still his fault.
He waved his hand: "Don't worry, I know your boss Tony Stark very well. I'll give you a promotion and a raise soon. Also, from now on, you can call me Du Mu. Du Mu is just my code name."
"Uh ok."
Gwen didn't quite understand, but she nodded nonetheless.
Afterwards, she led Du Mu on a tour of Stark Industries.
Unlike the Osborn Group's supervillain training center, Du Mu didn't find many special NPCs worth noting after wandering around.
During the visit, Du Mu casually chatted with Gwen and learned from her that she was also a student at Midtown High School.
"What a coincidence!"
Du Mu's eyes lit up, and he said happily, "I'm going to visit Zhongcheng High School later, why don't you continue to be my guide!"
Gwen: "?"
I'm here as an intern, not as a tour guide!
However, after a phone call from Du Mu, Gwen immediately received ten times her daily salary and an internship opportunity to join a major research project at Stark Industries.
Her job was simply to be Du Mu's guide.
Evil capitalist!
Gwen muttered to herself and readily agreed!
It doesn't matter if it's money or not.
The main reason is that she really values the internship opportunity in that research project.
I want everything!
