Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 235 Long Time No See, Lanius

Chapter 235 Long Time No See, Lanius

Rewind to a dozen seconds ago.

At that moment, Leonard was marveling at the power of the Goddess's Wings when, in the next instant, he suddenly tilted his head back slightly, as if he had heard something, and looked up with a tense expression.

Above them, the black airship that had been hovering silently suddenly moved. This powerful vessel, hovering in the air as a show of force and supposed to protect them, actually turned its guns around.

"Your Excellency Isabella! Upstairs..."

Leonard watched as the airship's cannons moved above them and finally aimed at them, and he couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

"boom!"

His words were drowned out by the deafening noise.

At first, Leonard only saw the flash of light from the cannon muzzle, which disappeared in a flash, leaving only a few wisps of smoke. But soon a muffled sound rang out from the ground, accompanied by a towering wave of fire and a shocking impact that swept away everything around them!
As the flames rushed toward him in an instant, Leonard had no time to react. He instinctively crossed his arms in front of him as a meager form of protection.

However, the expected impact did not occur. A tall figure appeared in the middle of the crowd, and a large area outside of her was isolated. The parts of the flames and impact that had spread from her seemed to be cut off, isolated, and disappeared into some unknown place by invisible blades.

The impact of the shell lasted only a short time, and the scene was filled with smoke.

Isabella looked up at the airship. The crimson moonlight illuminated the porthole, and she saw figures inside moving stiffly and slowly, seemingly busy reloading. Many fresh, bright red handprints appeared on the glass.

She pursed her lips slightly, her face cold, and raised her revolver with its astonishing caliber, pulling the trigger.

"boom!"

A powerful bullet struck the airship's air tank, instantly tearing a huge gash in the hull. The gas inside immediately leaked out, and the medium-sized vessel capsized in mid-air.

"Boom boom boom!"

Isabella fired repeatedly, hitting various parts of the airship. The airship quickly lost its altitude, spiraled downwards, and crashed into the Tasok River.

"Wow—"

The murky river water pounded against the banks, surging and gushing like a downpour on the street. People near the neighborhood bars screamed and fled as if just realizing what was happening.

"Cough cough."

Meanwhile, as the fire and smoke were being extinguished by the river, Lanius's body, which had been mostly obliterated, suddenly solidified again. He awoke as if from a dream, his eyes snapping open. He scanned his surroundings, his bloodshot eyes quickly locking onto Isabella in the crowd. He glanced at her with terror and resentment, then turned and ran away without hesitation!
"Sir, he's trying to escape!"

"Daly shouted."

"Ah."

Isabella waved her hand, ready to lead her team in pursuit. But a shadow suddenly flew out from the crashed airship, quickly appearing in front of them and blocking their way.

The shadow rose higher, transforming into a handsome man who was almost feminine.

His face was etched with a manic smile.

"Blasphemers, what do you intend to do to the offspring of my Lord?"

Mr. A asked softly.

"Huff, huff"

Lanius is running.

As a pregnant woman about to give birth, with a large belly, his speed was already fast enough.

He ran for a while, weaving through the panicked crowd, then quietly turned and slipped into a dark alley. Having lived here for some time, he had thoroughly familiarized himself with the area and planned several escape routes; this was one of them. He ran a few steps into the alley, then suddenly dropped to the ground, lifted a manhole cover, and nimbly slipped into the sewer. The sewer was dark and filthy, but Lanius didn't care. After his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he resumed his run.

After running for a while and feeling that he was out of danger, a genuine smile appeared on his face.

"Heh heh, child, your father truly loves you; he even had His servant hold off those fellows."

"I think to myself," Lanius thought to himself.

But soon, his smile froze, and he stopped abruptly.

"boom!"

Several crimson flames landed and exploded on the ground in front of him, illuminating the dark sewers. A few rats, startled by the light, squeaked and scurried into the deeper darkness.

"Long time no see, Lanius."

On the other side of the firelight, someone was greeting him, slowly approaching. It was a handsome young man with black hair and blue eyes, deep within which seemed to lie an unyielding madness. In one hand he held a crimson dagger, and in the other a silver revolver.

Lanius felt the other person looked vaguely familiar. He examined him closely with his bloodshot eyes, and his expression immediately turned extremely angry, even gritting his teeth:

"It's you!"

"Yes, it's me."

Lu Ze sneered, "Were you happy during your time as a pregnant woman?"

"You bastard, it's all because of you!"

Lanius roared, his voice echoing through the narrow sewers, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be in this state!"

Luze originally wanted to argue that the other party had brought it upon himself, but Lanluus could no longer tolerate it and roared as he charged towards Luze without regard for anything else.

"Hey!"

White bone spurs sprouted from the tips of his fingers, like sharp claws, and pierced straight towards Lu Ze's eyes.

Luze tilted his head back to dodge, and was about to retaliate when he saw Lanluus suddenly pull back his arm, lower his body, and actually slip past Luze's side, escaping deeper into the sewer!
His anger and aggression were all feigned, designed to create a false impression and allow him to escape!

"He can even let go of such deep-seated hatred, this guy must be too desperate to survive," Lu Ze thought to himself. "Or is it that the child in his belly has twisted his will?"

"boom!"

He raised his hand, a fireball forming in his palm, and hurled it in the direction Lanruus had gone. The fireball seemed to have a life of its own, swiftly catching up to Lanruus and exploding. Within the crimson flames, Luze's figure suddenly appeared.

As soon as he landed, he immediately swung his right hand, and the crimson "Pain" dagger slashed a long, bloody gash on Lanluus's thigh. Lanluus screamed in agony and immediately lost his balance and fell to the ground.

When he fell, Lanius twisted his body so that his stomach was facing up, and his back took the main impact.

"Why are you still hunting me down?"

Blood was flowing from his thigh, but he still struggled to back away, his eyes pleading, "I don't even plan to get revenge on you, just let me go!"

Lu Ze, carrying a dagger and a revolver, approached step by step.

Seeing that the two were close enough, a cruel glint flashed in Lanius's eyes. He suddenly straightened up and swelled his belly towards Luze.
