Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 241 Tarot and the Corpse

Chapter 241 Tarot and the Corpse

"Whoosh whoosh!"

A sharp whooshing sound rang out behind him, but Leonard didn't turn around and immediately dodged to the side. After landing, he quickly turned around to face the direction from which the attack had come.

Where he had been standing, there were now several tarot cards. They were ordinary tarot cards, some with the back facing up, and some with the image on top.

"who is it?"

Leonard looked in the direction from which the card had been shot, his expression slightly puzzled.

In the darkness of the street stood a man with an flamboyant magician style. His face was painted with white greasepaint, his eyes were turned into exaggerated black stars, and tarot cards were held between his fingers.

This person is naturally Klein.

At that time, he and Luze witnessed Lanluus's escape. The two had come specifically to eliminate him, so naturally they wouldn't let him get away so easily. However, Lanluus was corrupted by the gods; Luze could resist it, but Lanluus was in grave danger. Furthermore, given the significant difference in their order of power, Luze arranged for Lanluus to observe the situation from a distance while he went first.

He waited on the ground until the sewers collapsed, exposing the two figures to the sky above Backlund. When Luzer was wrapped in Lanius's body, Klein even considered going to rescue him despite the mental pollution.

However, before he could rush over, Luze easily dealt with Laneus.

From Klein's perspective, Luzer muttered something, and Lanius suddenly became extremely panicked, dropping him and screaming. Then, something invisible was taken away from him, causing his body to collapse and die.

What did Lu Ze do?
Klein was confused and uneasy, but he saw the other person fall into pain and madness. At the same time, a red glove came rushing over. This red glove was none other than his former colleague, Leonard!

"who are you?"

Although seeing old colleagues was nice, he couldn't reminisce now. Hearing Leonard's question, he didn't answer, but instead threw out tarot cards again, forcing Leonard to distance himself once more.

A few matches were mixed in with the tarot cards, which he skillfully tossed into the gap with the "magician's" technique, landing next to Lu Ze.

"Damn it, this guy keeps throwing cards, preventing me from pulling him into the dream. He seems to be very familiar with the abilities of 'Nightmare'."

Leonard dodged the attack, thinking to himself. He had only recently advanced to the Nightmare realm and was not yet proficient enough in pulling people into his dream world, so it was difficult for him to do so immediately.

"boom!"

Since he couldn't enter the dream, he simply pulled out his gun and fired. However, after the bullet from the revolver hit the other person, the other person's body suddenly turned into a ball of flame and disappeared without a trace.

"boom!"

Beside Luze, whose expression was pained, the scattered matches on the ground suddenly ignited, and Klein's figure leaped out from the suddenly expanding flames.

"Control your spirit!"

He was struck by Lu Ze's wildly overflowing spirituality and took a few steps back, shouting, "Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get close to you!"

Of course, because Leonard was on top, his voice was deliberately altered.

Klein?
In a moment of madness, Lu Ze heard the latter's voice, looked up, and saw his magician-like attire. He then tried to suppress his spirituality, eliminating any mental shocks around him.

“I possess some of my extraordinary items.”

He tried to speak to Klein.

"understood!"

Klein rushed to the body and saw a piece of white bone lying among the flesh, its surface gleaming with a warm, shimmering light in the scattered firelight. From its shape, it resembled a human rib.

Is this what it is? It looks a bit strange.
"Ok?"

He took a step toward Lanius's corpse, then suddenly felt something was off. The sewer environment had become somewhat pale, as if something was missing, or perhaps it was a blurry illusion.

"It's Leonard, he pulled us into the dream!" Klein thought to himself.

An ordinary extraordinary person might not be aware of dreams, but he possessed a peculiar ability to remain conscious within them. Just as he was about to attempt to break free from the dream, he felt Lu Ze's aura surge suddenly behind him, and everything before him emitted a phantom shattering sound, as if invisible glass were being destroyed.

The dream was shattered.

"Well!"

Above his head, Leonard let out a muffled cry of pain, as if he had suffered a severe mental shock.

"hurry up!"

Lu Ze shouted with difficulty.

Leonard, good luck to you.
Klein thought to himself as he rushed to Lanius and picked up the white rib. The object itself emitted a strong stimulating sensation; just touching the white rib sent a knife-like pain through his body, making him feel extremely uncomfortable.

"What the hell is this?"

He first jerked his hand away as if he had been electrocuted, then took out a piece of white paper from his pocket and wrapped the white rib with it to avoid the intense pain.

After the ribs were put back in place, Klein hurriedly ran back to Luzer's side. Looking around, he noticed a large amount of blood scattered on the ground, including some of Lanius's blood and some of Luzer's own.

We must clean up the scene, otherwise they might find us through these things!

Klein thought for a moment, then subtly moved his glove, instantly filling his fingers with over a dozen tarot cards. This was a standard deck of cards, but it could be roughly used as "paper dolls" left at the scene to interfere with the divination.

"Swipe!"

He flung countless playing cards from his hand, which landed on the sewer floor and on Lanius's decaying, decomposing corpse. Many of the tarot cards began to burn upon impact, scattering shimmering sparks that obscured the scene. However, some landed on Lanius, obscuring his unseeing, lifeless face.

On it are depictions of pictures and numbers: a man hanging upside down from a tree, lost in thought; a fool, full of hope, carrying a backpack and embarking on a journey; and a goddess wielding the sword of judgment to punish evil.

Klein quickly finished all this and grabbed Luzer.

"Bang bang bang!"

Above the gap, Leonard, his nose bleeding, tried to block with his pistol, but he immediately saw the two figures engulfed in crimson flames and disappear.

"boom!"

The next moment they appeared on the road, and the next moment they appeared in a more distant block, jumping around like this, disappearing from Leonard's sight before he could react.

"hateful."

Leonard lowered his arm holding the revolver and stared blankly down the sewer. He saw Lannüs's body buried among a large number of tarot cards.

Just then, he suddenly heard the sound of wings flapping overhead.

Looking up, I saw Mr. A, now demonized, flying in through the night sky with bat wings spread. His body was scarred, and a large group of night watchmen were chasing after him, but his gaze was fixed only on the sewers.

"Ahhhh!"

When he saw the state of Lanius's death, he let out a desperate howl!
"Damn bastard!"

Mr. A roared in anguish and fury in the direction Lu Ze had gone, his voice filled with madness and rage.

"I'm going to kill you, I'm going to make you wish you were dead!"
