Mystery: The Last Shepherd
Chapter 417 Medici's Remembrance
Chapter 417 Medici's Remembrance
"Sleep? Here? Now?"
Lu Ze frowned.
"That's right!"
Anderson set an example by immediately lying down on the beach. "This is the rule in this sea. If you don't fall asleep quickly, something terrible will happen!"
"whats the matter?"
Lu Ze was somewhat skeptical, but he still sat down with the cat in his arms.
"You know nothing?"
Anderson was somewhat shocked. "Don't look directly at the midday sun, don't try to challenge the storm, and don't stay awake at night. These three are the most basic rules in this sea area!"
Little did I know, before the Mysterious Queen could even tell me all this, she ran into the King of the Black Seat.
Lu Ze thought to himself, "I'm disgusted."
He felt that Anderson was not lying to him, and his spiritual instincts seemed to be giving him similar hints, so he also lay down on the beach. He found that the sky above him was pitch black, like a pure black cloth covering the sky, and he could not see a single star.
It was somewhat similar to the scene he saw in his hallucination.
"You go to sleep right now, understand?"
Luze said to Luna.
"Meow."
The latter jumped off his chest, ran to his neck, curled up, and covered its face with its tail.
"good."
Lu Ze smiled and touched it, then closed his eyes as well.
Suddenly, an unexpected thought popped into his head:
What should someone with insomnia do in this situation? Hmm, wouldn't they feel anxious, then unable to sleep, which would only increase their anxiety, until they were swallowed by the darkness?
Of course, as an extraordinary being, there's no need to worry about this. Lu Ze relaxed his mind through meditation and quickly drifted into a deep dream.
In the gray, hazy world, Lu Ze suddenly woke up.
Am I dreaming?
He immediately understood his situation. A strange sense of nostalgia washed over him; the last time he experienced this kind of "lucid dream" was in Tingen, when Captain Dunn came into his dream to play a nightmare.
Lu Ze looked around and found himself on a cliff.
Behind the cliffs are rows of black buildings, resembling the structure of a monastery.
Below the cliff is a bottomless ravine that stretches endlessly to both sides.
On the opposite side of the cliff was an extremely magnificent mountain peak, upon which sat a splendid royal city, composed of high city walls, towering towers, and countless magnificent palaces.
The city was unbelievably large, completely unsuitable for a human of normal size to live in; it seemed more like a city designed for giants. The sun hung low on the horizon, bathing the royal city in golden light.
This city has an indescribable epic feel, as if it will exist forever.
"Ha, I never thought I'd see this godforsaken place again."
Someone sneered.
Lu Ze turned his head sharply and was surprised to see an unexpected figure.
Medici, clad in black iron armor splattered with blood, crossed his arms and gazed into the distance at the magnificent royal city. A mocking smile played on his lips, his face riddled with rotting wounds, and his red eyes reflected the golden glow of the royal city.
Although He spoke sarcastic words, a look of longing still welled up in His eyes.
"Why are you here?"
Lu Ze said coldly.
This guy invaded my dreams?
“Because I dream too.” Medici turned to look at Luze. “Don’t think I’ve invaded your space. This is a dream created by all the creatures of the entire sea.”
He seemed to have guessed what Luze was thinking and said coldly.
Unlike her usual sarcastic remarks, the "Red Angel" seems to be in a bad mood now. A shared dream?
Lu Ze heard a peculiar word.
The dreams of all living beings are connected. Anderson previously said that terrible things would happen if people didn't sleep. Does this mean that this dream world is protecting people's spirits?
If that's the case, he might meet the Queen in his dreams.
You can try.
But first, you need to stay away from that "red angel".
Lu Ze carefully took a step back, observing Medici as he did so.
He showed no intention of paying him any further attention, but instead turned his face back to the mountain peak, gazing silently at the eternal royal city.
Gone, gone, those glorious days, that god bathed in holy light. Only this illusory, empty city remains, pretentiously appearing in people's dreams.
Luze was unaware of the other's sadness; he simply retreated cautiously, moving away from Medici on the cliff.
He didn't turn around until his back was pressed against the black monastery gate.
The monastery gate appeared to be at least ten meters high, its doors tightly shut and seemingly impossible to push open. Instead of attempting to open it, Luze activated his herding technique, passing through the wall in spirit form.
—Apart from Medici, the souls of the other lambs did not leave his body; they came here with him in his slumber.
Behind the gate is a wide square, and beyond that, there are towers, covered bridges, and layers of buildings, making it difficult to see them all clearly.
Lu Ze passed through the doorway and arrived at the nearby square.
The square was lit by bonfires and torches, presenting a scene of desolation.
"Meow~"
Just then, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"Luna?"
Lu Ze looked in the direction of the sound and saw a small black cat running swiftly from one end of the square and jumping into his arms.
Sure enough, there were creatures from this sea area in my dream!
Lu Ze, carrying the cat, headed towards the square.
He soon spotted Anderson, who was busy chopping down a huge log with an axe.
So far, all three beings I've encountered have been relatively close to me.
He walked up to Anderson, thinking to himself.
"Is this the canoe you're planning to make?"
He asked Anderson.
"Yes."
Anderson stood up, hands wearily on his hips. "It's too tiring to do this alone, and the progress is very slow. It might be much better if someone could help."
As he spoke, he kept glancing at Lu Ze's reaction.
Lu Ze chuckled to himself.
"Then you should work harder."
He decisively refused to help and continued walking deeper into the monastery.
"I don't recommend you go any further."
Seeing this, Anderson advised, "Some of the hunters who went on this expedition with me went deep into the dream world and never came back. Their bodies in reality turned into terrifying monsters, causing us a lot of trouble and killing several people."
Is there danger lurking deep within my dreams?
I'm also planning to go find the mysterious queen.
Lu Ze thought to himself.
Just as he was about to question Anderson in detail, the scene around him suddenly blurred, and when it came back to clear, he was already in a room.
The feeling of the dream hadn't dissipated; he must have been transported.
Luze cautiously surveyed his surroundings, and on a spiral staircase descending from it, he saw the mysterious queen.
