Mystery: The Last Shepherd
Chapter 485 Letter 2
Chapter 485 The Second Letter
After a friendly negotiation, Bill Brando readily paid a total of £9500 in cash and provided the esteemed Lady Luna with all the materials for the Sequence 8 "Clown" potion free of charge—which had recently fully digested the "Seer's" potion and could be considered for promotion.
Luze put away the money and materials, rejected Billt's overtures, and left the bar alone, preparing to return to the hotel.
Walking down the street, his spirit was suddenly stirred. Looking up, he noticed that the crimson moon in the sky had somehow turned into an eerie blood red.
Blood moon!
This seemingly random natural phenomenon remains unexplained in mysticism. However, as Luze's sequence advanced, he gradually sensed danger; the blood-red moon appeared to symbolize something ominous.
"Meow."
Luna's azure eyes reflected the crimson moon as she called out softly, alerting him that something was amiss.
Lu Ze withdrew his gaze and felt a whistling wind in the void in front of him. Then, a figure passed through the membrane and "squeezed" into the real world. It was a tall woman wearing a black court dress. Her headless body was backlit by the blood-red moon. She held four identical golden heads in her hands. Her face was bright and majestic, yet also eerily terrifying.
Klein's messenger!
To be honest, seeing such a scene late at night is quite impactful.
"You have" "your" "letter".
The messenger looked at Lu Ze, and her three heads spoke in turn. Unfortunately, her fourth head missed the chance to speak because it was holding an envelope in its mouth.
"OK, thanks."
Klein sent another letter, probably with news about "Red-Haired Elaine." And surprisingly, it came quickly.
Lu Ze took the envelope and thanked him.
After the messenger handed over the letter, all four heads turned at the same time, looking at Luna in Luze's arms.
"what!"
Stared at like that, Luna's fur stood on end. Being intelligent, it could naturally see the messenger, but it seemed somewhat unable to accept her appearance. It huddled in Luze's arms and hissed loudly at her.
"."
The messenger silently turned back, his expression seemingly somewhat regretful.
Who told you to be in this state?
Lu Ze gently stroked Luna's back to comfort her. Then, looking at the messenger, he spoke seriously:
"Madam, what do you sense from me?"
Other beings in the spirit world were unwilling to communicate with him, and the "red light" spoke ambiguously and evasively. Perhaps he could obtain valuable information from this being with whom he could communicate.
"Your...your...smells...weird."
The tall lady was about to leave, but after hearing Lu Ze's words, she turned back, left those words, and disappeared.
Why are you making it sound like I don't like taking showers when you talk about astral energy?
Lu Ze thought to himself, but seeing that the other party had already left, he had no choice but to put the letter away.
He carried the now-calmed Luna and continued towards the hotel.
Behind him, the blood moon hung high.

A secret room inside a church of the Church of Storms in Bayam, the "City of Generosity".
"The storm is above."
Alger bowed to the elderly man in a dark blue priest's robe opposite him, "Your Excellency, did you want to see me?"
"Praise be to the storm." The old man returned the greeting, then looked Alger up and down before asking in a deep voice, "How many days have you been back?"
“Your Excellency, my crew and I returned to Bayam the day before yesterday after completing our cruise.”
Alger spoke in a deep voice, his mind racing as he pondered the meaning behind the other's words. Could it be that he was to be given a new mission, or had the plan to cooperate with [The World] to attack "Steel" been leaked?
"The situation in the Navy has been a bit unusual lately."
The bishop's words cleared up his confusion: "Some church members have reported that there seem to be extra people on several naval ships that have set sail. Judging from their characteristics and behavior, they seem to be related to MI9."
MI9?
Alger's expression turned serious. The great smog in Backlund had not been clear for long, and the Church's investigation into the royal family was still continuing in secret. At this time, the appearance of the royal family's forces at sea was bound to arouse their suspicion.
"Your next task is to track a naval ship, record its movements, and see if there are any anomalies."
The bishop said, “Our church cannot operate openly, so we rely on forces like yours to carry out such operations. Of course, if you are caught, do not say that you are related to the church.”
You mean, you want me to use a sailboat to track a warship? Are you kidding me?
Even though his ship was a ghost ship, it couldn't withstand the bombardment of the ship's cannons!
"Yes."
Alger remained expressionless and bowed deeply to the bishop, saying, "I will certainly live up to my mission."
This is the Church of Storms, where the authority of those in power is absolute and inviolable. No matter how difficult the task, they have no choice but to carry it out, unleashing their fury and rage—just like this majestic sea.
Alger suddenly felt a bit tired. The church was full of unreasonable people, and it was inevitable to feel exhausted from dealing with such people every day.
There are still a few days left before my vacation ends and I leave Bayam. If something happens during this time and the warship sinks, that would be ideal, so I won't have to take the risk.
The usually composed Mr. Hanged Man, unusually, detached himself from reality and fantasized about a miracle happening.

After returning to his room, Lu Ze opened the second letter he had received that day.
The letter was brief. First, Klein had obtained information through some means and discovered the whereabouts of "Red-Haired Elaine"—
"!"
Lu Ze's body suddenly trembled when he saw what was behind him.
The letter clearly stated that "Red-haired Elaine" was currently located inside the Governor's Mansion in Bayam.
The Governor's Mansion of Bayam!
The place where Roy King is imprisoned!
The words of Senator Rachaud of the School of Life suddenly came to mind—if he needed to enter the Governor's mansion in Bayam for some reason, he could rescue Roy King while he was there.
He actually guessed right!
Lu Ze thought to himself in surprise.
No, even though Rijd guessed this, it was still too extreme. He said I would attack the Governor's Mansion in Bayam. That wouldn't warrant such a method. Both Klein and I have the ability of "Faceless Men"; we could just disguise ourselves, infiltrate, and rescue them.
He thought so.
If that's the case, perhaps I really can accept the mission from the School of Life, since, as they said, it really is just a side matter.
In that case, what kind of reward should I ask them for? Right, I happen to need some better extraordinary items, and such a large organization should be able to provide something that satisfies me.
Luze pondered this, unsure whether to accept the mission, and simply looked at what Klein had written below.
The second part of the letter was even shorter, in which Klein asked him if there was any way to cleanse the spiritual pollution of the True Creator within the Extraordinary Attribute.
