Chapter 2 Dark and windy night
"Don't worry, it's not that easy for those Japanese devils to take my life," Chen Ming said.

His courage to lead his team to seek revenge was not merely driven by passion.

With a three-dimensional combat map, Chen Ming could clearly know the whereabouts of every Japanese soldier, and all of their deployments and actions could not escape his eyes.

Under the cover of night, Chen Ming was extremely confident that he could inflict casualties on the Japanese while preserving as much of his own strength as possible.

The team consisted of twelve people, including Chen Ming, and six of them were still able to move.

However, Li Zhu had to stay behind to take care of the wounded, so only five people were on this mission.

"Captain, I want to go too! I want revenge!"

The youngest soldier in the group ran up to Chen Ming, wanting to go with him.

His name is Wang Xiaohu, and he is only thirteen years old.

Wang Xiaohu's parents were killed by the Japanese, so he chose to join the district militia to avenge them.

Looking at the boy's innocent face, Chen Ming thought, "What a good kid."

In later generations, children of this age would still be nestled in their parents' arms, acting like spoiled children.

Despite the national and personal grievances, they resolutely took up arms to fight against the Japanese invaders.

Chen Ming patted Wang Xiaohu on the shoulder: "I need you to stay here. You are shrewd and resourceful, so you need to stay here and keep watch. Your Uncle Zhu needs to take care of the wounded. The lives of the remaining seven men in the squad depend on you."

Chen Ming's words silenced Wang Xiaohu, who felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders and hesitated between protecting his comrades and seeking revenge.

Finally, he gritted his teeth and nodded heavily.

"Don't worry, Captain. With me here, the Japanese devils won't be able to find us."

"Okay." Chen Ming nodded, and with four team members who were still able to move, disappeared into the night before the remaining seven.

He took two of the three guns and thirteen of the seventeen bullets.

Leave a gun and four bullets for the remaining team members to use for self-defense.

Chen Ming also carried with him the three bullets that Erdan had risked his life for.

He was going to use those three bullets to send three Japanese devils to their deaths!

The village where the Japanese soldiers were resting was only two kilometers away. Under the moonlight, the five-man squad reached the vicinity of the village in about fifty minutes.

Just as Chen Ming opened the three-dimensional combat map to check the situation of the Japanese and puppet troops in the village, he saw a scene that made his eyes widen in horror.

The village paths were littered with the corpses of villagers, men, women, children, and even a pregnant woman whose belly had been cut open!

"You damn Japanese devils, I'll fuck your ancestors!"

Chen Ming was filled with rage.

However, he still did not act impulsively, and tried his best to suppress his anger, and began to check the enemy's situation.

This enemy force consisted of a small detachment of thirteen Japanese soldiers and a puppet army platoon of thirty-eight men, totaling fifty-one men.

The Japanese soldiers were highly skilled in combat; even when facing a militia squad of only a dozen men, they remained vigilant.

In addition to visible sentries, hidden sentries were also set up.

If it weren't for the red dot on Chen Ming's map, he might not have been able to find the hidden sentries.

The puppet army's sentry post was very rudimentary, with only one sentry at the gate of the courtyard, who was even dozing off against the wall.

Having learned about the enemy's early warning system, Chen Ming had a plan in mind.

"Dafei, you and Tiesheng go around to the back of the village and lie in ambush in the woods behind the mountain to meet us. The other two will follow me."

Chen Ming issued the combat order.

The rugged woods behind the village provided a good hiding place for small groups of people to evacuate.

If their actions are discovered by the Japanese, the chances of a successful retreat are greatest from there.

Moreover, their direction is opposite to Li Zhu's, so even if the Japanese pursue them, it won't affect them.

"Yes."

Dafei and Tiesheng answered in hushed tones. Chen Ming was a veteran of the Red Army. After recovering from his injuries last year, he was assigned by his superiors to their district squad to guide their combat operations and help them standardize their operations and improve their combat effectiveness.

The two trusted their captain, who had extensive combat experience, unconditionally.

After the five men separated, Chen Ming led the remaining two soldiers to begin their operation.

The enemy is strong and we are weak, so we can only win by surprise.

Chen Ming and his two companions quietly crept up to within about 100 meters of the Japanese sentry post.

Through the three-dimensional combat map, Chen Ming saw that in addition to the visible sentries standing guard ahead, there was also a hidden sentry lying behind the old millstone.

"You guys stay here with your guns and provide backup. I'll sneak over and take care of the Japanese sentries. Once the Japanese fire, you fire to draw their attention, then immediately retreat to the back of the village," Chen Ming said in a low voice.

"Captain, let me go. It's too dangerous for you to go alone."

"Excuting an order!"

"Yes."

Chen Ming dared to do this because he had excellent combat skills and experience, and he had a map that allowed him to check the Japanese situation at any time.

If it were any other soldier, the risk would be too great.

Taking advantage of the darkness, Chen Ming cautiously crept towards the Japanese sentries, his steps light and careful not to make a sound.

At the same time, he used the map to observe the Japanese soldiers, and if anything seemed amiss, he would temporarily stop his actions.

However, perhaps because it was late at night and unlike the visible sentries who were under surveillance, this Japanese sentry was not very vigilant and had already begun to doze off.

It took Chen Ming more than ten minutes to walk a hundred meters before he finally crept up to three meters behind the Japanese sentry.

After checking the map again and confirming that there was nothing unusual, Chen Ming rushed forward and plunged his knife into the waist and abdomen of the Japanese sentry.

The Japanese soldier, severely wounded, stared wide-eyed. Muscle spasms prevented him from making a sound; he could only open his mouth wide.

Chen Ming gave the other man no chance, drew his knife, and slit the Japanese soldier's throat, sending him to his death.

Looking at the lifeless corpse, Chen Ming's hands trembled uncontrollably.

After stripping the enemy of all its weapons and ammunition, Chen Ming dragged its body into hiding.

After eliminating the hidden sentries without a sound, dealing with the visible sentries became simple.

Chen Ming used the same method again, taking advantage of the moment when the Japanese soldier in the sentry post yawned to eliminate him.

The task of getting the puppet troops to doze off was even simpler, requiring almost no effort at all.

At this point, the Japanese and puppet troops lost all their early warning arrangements and became completely blind.

This is the advantage of a full map reveal; no enemy action can escape detection, and the attacker can accurately pinpoint the enemy's weaknesses.

After dealing with the enemy sentries, Chen Ming dared not delay. To avoid any unforeseen complications, he had to end the battle as soon as possible.

After carefully infiltrating the Japanese camp, Chen Ming used a 3D map to observe that everyone on the enemy side was asleep.

Chen Ming was overjoyed; this was simply a godsend.

Without hesitation, he took out the four Japanese Type 91 grenades he had just captured. These were grenades that could be fired in conjunction with a grenade launcher, and Chen Ming had been knocked unconscious by them earlier.

After removing the safety pin, they slammed them together forcefully.

After throwing him into the house where the Japanese soldiers were sleeping, Chen Ming turned and ran.

The clattering sound was clearly audible in the silent night, and a Japanese soldier who was not yet fast asleep groggily opened his eyes.

Upon seeing the four smoking grenades, he was terrified and screamed in panic.

"Avoid lightning!"

However, it was too late!

A huge explosion rang out, and the Japanese soldier was instantly reduced to a ghost.
