Chapter 203 Oh my god, Rain Father, how did you die?
Chapter 203 Oh my god, Rain Father, how did you die?
Under Rain Father's "purification," the Tyranid swarm was swept away in large swaths. After this scene continued for several tens of minutes, the players riding on the backs of the Nurgle beasts gradually became somewhat listless.
This is partly because the viruses and bacteria in the air are causing the negative effects in their status bars to accumulate, and partly because the same scene has been going on for too long. Just watching a big tree sweep up trash as a bystander is already quite boring.
Finally, one player couldn't help but speak up.
"Father Rain, do you... have any new tasks?"
"Yes, yes, it's a bit monotonous to just watch you sweep away bugs with a twig."
Upon hearing the request from its "family," Rain Father seemed to realize that its fighting methods were somewhat simplistic. After a moment's thought, it said kindly, "Alright, watch closely. I will now use a new method to bring these blasphemers into the cycle of life and death that I cherish."
The players' eyes lit up immediately, and they all perked up.
The Rain Father opened its abyss-like maw, and a shimmering green light began to gather deep within its throat, accompanied by a terrifying energy surge. Just as the green light was about to reach its peak, seemingly about to burst forth, it suddenly and rapidly dissipated for some unknown reason.
"Huh?" The players were all taken aback. "What's wrong? Are you constipated?"
The Rain Father himself found it strange, but it patiently explained, "The strange shadows in the highest heavens have suddenly become even thicker, weakening my power. Please wait a moment, I will gather it again..."
Before he finished speaking, Yu's father's massive body suddenly vanished from the spot!
The deafening explosion that tore through the air shattered the players' eardrums, causing them to suffer temporary deafness. The ensuing hurricane nearly swept them off the back of the Nurgle beast; had they not instinctively clung tightly to the flesh beneath them, they would likely have been sent flying.
After a struggle to regain their footing and react, everyone turned around and gasped in shock. What had once been a relatively flat ground now bore an extremely long and deep trench, which at first glance resembled a dried-up riverbed. At the end of this trench, Rain Father was staggering to his feet, roaring angrily at whatever had suddenly attacked him.
Opposite it stood a terrifying Tyrannosaurus creature. From the players' angle, they could see a massive amount of proliferating brain tissue on its back, resembling an external cheat device, almost covering its entire spine. The eerie blue arcs of psionic energy flickering on it revealed the immense power contained within its body. Its entire body was covered in bulging muscles, and its thick carapace reflected a metallic luster in the eerie light, powerful enough to deflect shells capable of destroying tanks.
Upon seeing this creature, the players showed no fear, but rather displayed expressions of extreme excitement.
"Holy crap! The Norn Messenger! Tyrion is serious now!"
"Now we're in for a good watch! Everyone, start recording! First-person perspective, high definition, uncensored!"
"To witness such a battle of power, even dying would be worth the price of admission!"
The battle between the Norn Messenger and the Rain Father erupted instantly, a true clash of titans began. The Rain Father wielded the thick stems and branches in his hands, each strike creating a green storm, and within a few breaths, the entire battlefield transformed into a vibrant yet utterly malevolent garden.
From the soil of the garden, countless tiny, exquisite Nurgle Splinters, resembling the Rain Father, emerged with smiles. Like joyful children, they rushed towards the Norn Messenger in droves, trying to hold back this enormous enemy with their insignificant yet filthy bodies.
Faced with this world-altering power, the Norn messenger remained silent. It merely emitted a silent psychic shriek—a pure psychic shockwave emanating from it in a ring. All the Nurgle spirits that rushed towards it evaporated instantly like bubbles under the scorching sun, leaving not a trace. The aftershocks of each collision were enough to wipe out an entire mortal army.
However, as the battle progressed, Rainfather gradually fell into a disadvantageous position, and began to falter in the face of the Norn messenger's attacks. Even the Nurgle beasts ridden by the players noticed this, anxiously twisting their fat bodies and emitting mournful whimpers from their throats.
"What's going on?" one player asked incredulously. "Wasn't the Norn Messenger supposed to be a regular Greater Demon? How come even someone as well-known as Rain Father can't beat it?"
The captain thought for a moment, then pointed into the distance and suggested a possibility: "Because of the shadow of the subspace, also known as the Black Curtain. The Black Curtain has weakened the power of the Rain Father. Look at the place we came from; those plants that grew because of the Rain Father's power are already showing signs of withering."
The players craned their necks to look, and it was indeed true. The once vibrant, twisted plants were now rapidly turning dull, and the strange insects that had been fluttering around were falling to the ground, listless and lifeless.
"Hiss, that might actually be true." Everyone agreed that it made sense.
Just then, the Norn messenger seized an opening, its massive scythe-like forelimb piercing through Rainfather's shoulder once more, almost reaching its abdomen. Rainfather roared in fury. Although this injury was nothing to the Great Demon Nurgle, being stabbed dozens of times like this would completely change the situation.
“I think we have to find a way to help,” the captain said in a deep voice, “at least to help Rain Father hold on a little longer and kill more bugs.”
The team members were puzzled: "How can we help? Is this level of battle something we can get involved in?"
“Yeah, if we get too close, we’ll probably be blown to bits by the aftershocks of the battle between the two sides.” The captain, however, confidently pulled a small, red plastic building block from his pocket.
"use this!"
[Name: Lego]
[Type: Other]
[Quality: perfect]
[Attribute: None]
[Special Effect 1: It can be assembled into all sorts of cool gadgets]
[Special Effect 2: If you step on it, it will hurt a lot (it really hurts)]
[Note: As the first plastic building block toy launched by a Danish toy manufacturer in 1949, it has been extremely popular with children and parents all over the world; no one can resist its charm.]
The captain patted the Nurgle beast beneath him and urged, "Quick, come closer, let's help it!"
In its anxiety, Nurgle was incredibly obedient, immediately moving towards the center of the battle. When it was close enough, the captain shouted at the top of his lungs, "Father Rain! We're here to help you!"
At the same time, he hurled the Lego brick in his hand with all his might. For some reason, the small brick was not destroyed or blown away by the terrifying aftershocks of the battle, but instead traced a perfect parabola and landed steadily in the very center of the battle between the two behemoths.
However, things backfired.
The first to step on the Lego brick was not the Norn Messenger, but... the Rain Father. Its huge, flesh-covered right foot landed steadily and firmly on the small Lego brick.
The next second, an earth-shattering scene unfolded.
Suddenly, Rain Father raised his right foot, completely disregarding his life-or-death struggle with the Norn messenger. He dropped the thick stems and branches, grabbed the sole of his right foot, and let out a heart-wrenching, agonizing roar:
"Ow—!"
The Norn messenger, of course, wouldn't let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip by. Its two scythe-like limbs shot out instantly, piercing deeply into Rain Father's body without any resistance. Rain Father finally put his hands down from his feet, hurriedly trying to grasp the sharp blades embedded in his body, but it was too late.
The Norn messenger let out a sharp roar, and with a sudden burst of strength, tore Rain Father's massive body in two!
The Rain Father could no longer rise; its torn corpse gradually began to dissolve, turning into green specks of light. The Norn Messenger, meanwhile, raised its head high, letting out a triumphant roar to the heavens.
The players riding on Nurgle all cried out in alarm that something was wrong.
"We're doomed! We've messed things up! We've made things worse!"
"Holy crap, Rain Father, how could you be dead!"
"Father Yu, don't die! How are we supposed to live if you die!"
The last player was right. After its roar, the Norn Messenger turned its cold compound eyes toward them. The next moment, it vanished from its spot, smashing the still-wailing Nurgle, all the players on its back, and everything in its path into a cloud of blood mist with a speed no one could see.
