I summoned the Fourth Scourge in Warhammer
Chapter 94 [Textbook Level]
Chapter 94 [Textbook Level]
Ruan Wenbo held a piece of parchment in his hand, on which was written the plan for the large-scale restoration of Nest City production given to him by Redito.
It was called a plan, but it was actually incredibly concise, consisting of only two lines.
The first line reads, "[Relocate the Lower Nest Population]". Given the significant population loss in the current Nest City, relocating the Lower Nest population to the Middle Nest will facilitate management and fill labor shortages.
The second line reads, "Strengthen labor discipline." How to strengthen it? Naturally, through whips, bayonets, and gallows.
Seeing Ruan Wenbo holding the project proposal in silence for a long time, Redito bluntly asked, "Do you think it's too cruel?"
Ruan Wenbo didn't try to hide anything: "Yes."
"We must restore the production capacity of the hive city as quickly and to the maximum extent possible. We must have enough artillery, tanks, and aircraft to defend against the green tide that may come at any time..." Redito repeated Nguyen Van Bo's words verbatim. "If I remember correctly, these are your exact words."
Redito continued, "If you want to imitate your so-called military council and establish a workers' council among the workers of the hive, I can't say what the final result will be. At the beginning, this workers' council will definitely evolve into workers' gangs. They will use it to resist the production tasks assigned by their superiors. The only members who can be elected will be those who are willing to protect these workers and not let them work."
"In this situation, the hope of restoring production as quickly as possible has undoubtedly failed. The only way to correct this is most likely to be to have the military suppress the riots."
“To be honest, I originally thought your military council would turn into something similar,” Redito admitted. “The soldiers were unwilling to train, had no morale, used it to resist the officers, and were only thinking about being discharged. They would drop their weapons and run away when the enemy came… But since the army was under your jurisdiction, I didn’t interfere. I didn’t expect it to succeed in the end.”
Redito said, “But the factory is different. This is my jurisdiction, and the workers of the Hive City are very different from your army. If you intend to cause trouble, I will definitely stop you… My words may be a bit harsh, but I hope you can understand.”
“It’s more than just unpleasant to hear,” Ruan Wenbo sighed. “Let’s do it your way.”
"Oh?"
“You seem surprised?” Ruan Wenbo raised an eyebrow.
“Yes,” Redito said without hiding anything, “After all, those who achieve great success at a young age want to replicate their success in every situation and often regard those who try to stop them as stubborn and conservative opponents.”
"Hehe," Ruan Wenbo chuckled dryly, "I know the principle of analyzing specific problems in specific ways, okay?"
Just then, a beeping sound of a communication request reached their ears. Ruan Wenbo looked at Redito, who answered the call and projected Li Yongsi's holographic image in front of them.
Li Yongsi began, "Master Redito, uh... and Battalion Commander Ruan Wenbo?"
Redito didn't waste any words and said directly, "Just tell me."
“Yes,” Li Yongsi nodded, his expression serious, “I think you two need to know about this… Just now, an Imperial warship landed.” “What type?” “Whose warship is it?”
Redito and Nguyen Van Bo spoke almost simultaneously, asking questions that appeared different on the surface but were essentially the same.
“It seems to be a combat barge,” Li Yongsi said on the other end of the communication. “Although I only glanced at it briefly, I didn’t see any long-range weapons like light spears. They were all close-combat, boarding-ready modified combat barges, such as side-mounted cannons, bombardment cannons, hangars, and launch platforms. They are textbook-level combat barges.”
Perhaps only medical students can truly understand the immense hardship contained within Li Yongsi's description of "textbook-level"...
Redito and Ruan Wenbo exchanged a glance, and Redito spoke first: "I'll go. The nest needs someone to stay behind."
Ruan Wenbo nodded and said, "Okay."
Meanwhile, inside the bridge of the combat barge.
After Assimilation placed the data pad back in Hobbs's arms, he began to worry: "Speaking of which, how am I supposed to find my teammates? It would take at least several hours to drive back to the nest from here, not to mention that after that life-or-death escape, that Chimera is almost out of fuel and probably won't go very far..."
He looked around; the ruins seemed to offer nothing but deathly silence.
Just then, the sound of a door creaking open came from behind. Assimilation turned around and saw Redito pushing the door open and entering, followed by a group of servants filing in.
Before Assimilation could even react, he was shoved aside by Raditto. Raditto didn't even glance at him, walking straight to Hobbs, who was lying on the ground. He bent down and conducted a quick and precise examination of Hobbs. His cold voice echoed in the quiet bridge: "This one isn't dead yet."
Assimilation complete: "???"
As soon as Redito finished speaking, the servants, like precise machines receiving orders, orderly gathered around. They carefully placed Hobbes into something that might have been a stretcher, but to Assimilation it looked more like a cold, metallic coffin, then skillfully lifted him up and silently walked out. From beginning to end, these servants, and even Redito himself, acted as if Assimilation didn't exist.
“Uh,” Assimilation was a little confused. He looked in the direction where Hobbs had been carried away and muttered to himself in confusion, “He’s not dead yet? But he has no pulse or breathing, and his chest is completely hollowed out…”
“The Space Marines’ feigned death must be very well concealed,” Assimilation noticed that four other players had also entered with the Reditor’s servants. The one who spoke was Li Yongsi. He was explaining in a serious tone, “At least it can’t be distinguished by ordinary people, otherwise it’s not feigned death, it’s just unconsciousness.”
Assimilation pondered for a moment: "That seems to make sense... Speaking of which, how did you get here so quickly? I haven't even reported the situation here yet."
“Because we saw it,” the giant unicorn shrugged, spreading its arms wide. “It would be strange if we didn’t see such a big warship. We were about three kilometers away from here when it crashed, and we watched it fall from the sky smoking.”
“Oh, I see,” Assimilation said with sudden realization, but in reality, he was thinking... This God’s Dice is so powerful that it can even calculate the player’s whereabouts? Unfortunately, the duration is almost over, and it is impossible for [42] to roll every time.
