Chapter 249 Bodhidharma Relics, Reigning Supreme - Yi Jin Jing
"You owe me a favor."
A smile flashed in Li Shengnan's eyes.
A smile of triumph.
"What do you mean?"
Blue Phoenix launched a "confused" offensive.
I come from Miao territory.
I don't understand the rules of the Central Plains martial arts world.
It's impossible to owe someone a favor.
Not a single penny of favor!
"If I hadn't killed Ximen Muye, where would your Golden Silkworm Gu have found such nourishing ingredients?"
“Ximen Muye indiscriminately kills innocent people. Li Lang has long issued a kill order against him. A piece of trash like Ximen Muye can only last three moves against Li Lang’s sword at most.”
"I don't deny that Li Zhaoting will win, but most of the people killed by Li Zhaoting will be reduced to ashes. Can the Golden Silkworm absorb the poison essence from a cloud of blood mist?"
"you……"
"Remember this, you owe me a favor!"
“I asked Li Lang to help me pay off my debts.”
Why should he help you pay off your debts?
"As long as I whisper in your ear, whether you choose a virtuous wife or a concubine is Sister Feng's business. As for concubines, I am just a concubine who tries to win your favor. Paying off debts is naturally the master's responsibility. I am only responsible for enjoying your affection."
Blue Phoenix launched a shameless offensive.
If Lan Fenghuang pretends to be stupid, Li Shengnan has a hundred ways to make Lan Fenghuang admit her mistake. Lan Fenghuang takes the initiative to admit her mistake and says that Li Zhaoting should repay it. All of Li Shengnan's plans are blocked by Lan Fenghuang.
Rules can only restrain those who are easily embarrassed.
Lan Fenghuang: Me! A concubine! A vixen! All I do is seduce the master! As for paying off the debt, go talk to my master and mistress! I'm not the first wife!
What else could Li Shengnan say?
"What if Li Zhaoting doesn't help you pay it back?"
"You can take him back to pay off his debts. You can release him whenever you feel he's paid off his debts. I don't care. If you have any problems, go find Sister Feng."
"You really are a vixen!"
"Thank you for the compliment, sister!"
Lan Fenghuang licked the bag with a big smile.
Medicine is divided into different disciplines, and so is toxicology. There are too many branches, too many fields, and too many complexities. Human energy is limited, and it is impossible to be proficient in everything.
Trying to do everything at once results in being a jack of all trades and master of none.
The Miao region is mainly inhabited by animals and Gu insects.
Simon Muye primarily studies plant toxins, is skilled at cultivating poisonous flowers, and carries highly toxic flower seeds with him at all times.
All these benefits went into Blue Phoenix's pocket.
Lan Fenghuang has collected all the poison essence he has painstakingly cultivated throughout his life, the poisonous flowers and herbs he has painstakingly nurtured, and the research notes he has studied throughout his life. Li Shengnan has no interest in poison arts and lets Lan Fenghuang collect his spoils.
Li Zhaoting blasted away Tieshui, and Li Shengnan killed Ximen Muye with her sword. The two events happened simultaneously. Just as the two were about to return to the inn to review the events, a sword beam that reached the sky and the earth rose from Tiger Hill, scattering into sword energy and sword beams.
The light of Buddha rose along with the sword's edge.
A gentle, long, warm, and domineering Buddhist light rose up, transforming into a colossal palm that slammed into tens of thousands of solidified sword beams. Accompanied by a deafening explosion that shook the surrounding area for dozens of miles, a mushroom cloud shot into the sky.
Li Zhaoting instantly understood what this meant!
The true secret of Tiger Hill Sword Pool!
The real purpose of the June leading stock!
Li Zhaoting rushed to Tiger Hill Sword Pool, as did Li Shengnan. Duan Yu knew he couldn't get involved, so he didn't try to take advantage of the situation. Instead, he quietly settled the people, rummaged through Gu Daoren's tavern for silver, and distributed it to the people whose houses had been destroyed, so they could settle down as soon as possible.
Hua Huafeng originally wanted to watch the excitement, but seeing Duan Yu's actions in helping the people, she suppressed her desire to watch for the first time in her life and helped Duan Yu distribute gold, silver and rice.
Wu Xiang leaped towards Tiger Hill.
Iron Shoulders and Reluctance stayed to help.
Tie Jian had been a constable for over twenty years and was quite experienced in settling people. He was also a Buddhist with profound knowledge and wanted to enhance Duan Yu's reputation, so he took the initiative to play a minor supporting role.
……
Let's rewind a little.
A strange man wearing a blue dragon mask and a black and gold robe entered the Tiger Hill Sword Pool step by step.
Although he wore a dragon mask and had obvious signs of disguise, the strong sandalwood scent that permeated his body proved that he was a monk, a monk with high martial arts skills.
How can one enter the Tiger Hill Sword Pool if their martial arts skills are not high?
More than a thousand years have passed since Helü was buried. The more than two thousand sword blanks that were buried with him have been sharpening, fighting, and devouring each other's sword intent. Today, less than one-tenth of them remain, and every corner is filled with sword intent.
Outsiders who enter the sword pool will be attacked.
Many swordsmen come from far and wide, hoping to find a sword that suits them from the Sword Pool. However, most of them lose their sword spirit due to the sword intent, become disheartened, and are unable to hold the sword. Only a very few swordsmen are capable of taking away a sword.
In the past decade or so, only Xin Huqiu and Qu Jianchi have succeeded; the rest have all failed.
This makes some people curious.
Yongcui Villa is located in Tiger Hill. With Li Guanyu's unparalleled swordsmanship, how could he not take the sword?
Didn't the famous swordsmen of the previous generation, such as Xue Yiren and Ziyi Hou, try it?
Are the chosen ones of this generation, such as Ximen Chuixue, Ye Gucheng, Xie Xiaofeng, Yan Shisan, Yan Nantian, and Li Zhaoting, really incapable of taking the sword?
It's not that we lack the ability, but rather that we don't need to.
Swordsmen like Li Guanyu, Ziyi Hou, and Xie Xiaofeng came from prestigious families. Some were equipped with divine weapons from a young age, while others had family heirloom swords, so they didn't need to go out to find swords.
Xue Yiren's family has dozens of precious swords.
Ximen Chuixue's sword was custom-made.
Yan Shisan used the pearl on his sword to exchange for wine money.
Yan Nantian could turn a piece of iron into a sword.
Before his debut, Li Zhaoting used bamboo and wooden pieces. Not long after his debut, he obtained the Ziwei Soft Sword. When he first arrived in Suzhou, he had already become one with the sword and did not need to explore the Sword Pool.
There's a rather arrogant saying: the Tiger Hill Sword Search is just about building reputation. The top swordsmen in the martial arts world don't need to build reputation; they all have their own swords.
There is a somewhat idealistic view: divine weapons possess spirits and choose their masters based on their sword intent. The Shuyu Divine Sword, with its noble and pure heart, chose the righteous and awe-inspiring Qujian Pool.
A more realistic viewpoint is that the sword-making techniques of the Spring and Autumn Period were too primitive. From a purely technical perspective, the modern techniques are definitely better.
When Li Zhaoting exposed Jin Jiuling's true colors, he obtained Jin Jiuling's treasured Jingni Sword, one of the Eight Swords of Yue, which was famous in the martial arts world.
and then?
No one in Li Zhaoting's family needs it.
As for things like the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, those are all old rumors. Technology is advancing; if you take a piece of rebar and travel back to the Tang Dynasty, it will become the Kanglong Mace.
In the world of martial arts, due to the "martial arts way," there are some rare materials, the most famous of which is black iron.
There's no need to favor the past over the present; times are progressing.
There is no need to look down on the ancients; they were pioneers in exploring martial arts. Modern people stand on the shoulders of the ancients, step by step reaching higher levels, so that martial arts can flourish in all its forms.
The leader in June thought the same way. He disdained even the most powerful weapons.
They treated the sword energy and sword light as nothing.
A faint Buddhist light enveloped his body, and any sword energy or sword light that came close would be neutralized by the Buddhist light.
In June, the dragon head continued forward and soon found a relic at the core of the Tiger Hill Sword Pool.
Bodhidharma Relics!
After Bodhidharma passed away, he left nine relics to his disciples, one of which was hidden in Tiger Hill.
First, it was to suppress the golden energy of Tiger Hill to prevent the sword energy from erupting and harming the people. Second, Bodhidharma spent seven days in Tiger Hill to comprehend the Dao when he created the Bodhidharma Sword Technique.
Time flies, and all eight relics left in the outside world have been used up, leaving only one at Tiger Hill. This relic suppresses the evil energy of the Sword Pool and is intertwined with the sword intent. After hundreds of years of evolution, it has become a Buddha sword pellet with brilliant Buddhist light, containing pure Buddhist sword intent.
The Dragon Head of June devised so many schemes and plots, even sacrificing molten iron and Ximen Muye, to lure away Li Zhaoting and Li Shengnan, all in order to obtain the Bodhidharma Relic.
Of course, the original target was Lu Xiaofeng.
If Murong Fu hadn't invited Li Zhaoting, allowing the June Dragon Head to find a more suitable target, he would have slaughtered many eminent monks and asked Tie Jian to invite Lu Xiaofeng to investigate the case.
There's a problem here.
Did Bodhidharma fail to shatter the void?
Zhang Sanfeng explained this issue in detail once when he was preaching to Li Zhaoting at Wudang Mountain. Breaking through the void is a martial artist's lifelong pursuit, but not the only pursuit. It is not that if you can break through the void, you must break through the void.
One should not let one's mind be enslaved by one's physical form.
My pursuit of breaking through the void stems from a genuine desire to escape the well and see a wider world; it is my own heartfelt wish.
It is neither an obsession nor a demon in one's heart.
This is the true self, the pursuit of truth, and the pursuit of reality.
The philosophies of Buddhism and Taoism are different.
Those obscure and difficult-to-understand principles are not within the scope of this discussion; we will only talk about the most basic impressions.
Taoists pursue immortality and longevity, hoping to ascend to heaven in this lifetime.
Monks pursue the afterlife, Nirvana, and reincarnation, hoping to see their true nature and become Buddhas.
Most of the Taoist masters throughout history ascended to heaven before their lifespan ended. Once the Wudang Sect had a new pillar, Zhang Sanfeng would leave.
Most Buddhist masters attain the Vajra of Shattering, leaving behind an immortal Dharma body, allowing their Yang spirit to shatter the void, completely freeing themselves from the constraints of the physical body, and pursuing great freedom and liberation.
Very few people leave this world with their bodies intact.
Bodhidharma was in this situation.
He passed down the Zen Buddhist tradition during his lifetime, aiming to save all sentient beings. Before his lifespan ended, he summoned his disciples and told them that his lifespan was coming to an end and that he would personally distribute his inheritance to them.
After giving his last words, the next morning, the disciple went to deliver breakfast to Bodhidharma, only to find his immortal body sitting cross-legged, his body no longer showing any signs of life.
It is possible that he or she passed away peacefully after his lifespan had expired.
It could be the Shattered Vajra, ascending to immortality.
For Bodhidharma, breaking through the void was not an unattainable or insurmountable peak; he had already stood on the summit. However, if Bodhidharma left, what would happen to his lineage? What would happen to his successors?
Without Bodhidharma spreading Buddhism, without Bodhidharma building the basic framework, where would the pinnacle of martial arts be?
In this respect, the Demonic Sect holds an absolute advantage.
Disciples of the Demonic Sect are detached from emotions and selfish; once they have a chance to leave, they will seize it firmly.
What does the tradition of Taoism have to do with me?
Whether the disciples are dead or alive, who cares?
Xiang Yutian was relatively conscientious; by training a few scoundrel disciples, he at least preserved the lineage.
Those more ruthless demon emperors and evil emperors treat their disciples as blood packs, elixirs, and pills.
The most obvious example is the "Demon Seed in the Heart of the Dao" technique.
The essence is to use "people" as alchemical furnaces and alchemical materials, sacrificing others to fulfill oneself.
Establishing a school of thought is no simple matter.
The stronger the sect, the more the founder has to sacrifice.
Bodhidharma lived until his lifespan was exhausted, and Zhang Sanfeng lived to be over a hundred years old. Even if the outside world is the celestial realm, can a body at forty years old be the same as a body at over a hundred years old?
Age is your greatest asset.
If you make a mistake at forty, you still have a chance to correct it.
If you make a mistake at the age of one hundred, you can only go down a dark path.
Some people can understand this, while others cannot understand it at all. The two sides have different pursuits. Bodhidharma and Zhang Sanfeng valued the lineage and stayed to protect it, shielding their disciples from the wind and rain, and bearing ninety percent of the sect's calamities.
The level of understanding is too high for ordinary people to comprehend.
It's okay if you don't understand.
They don't need everyone to understand.
Later generations need not fully understand these things.
For the Azure Dragon of June, the relics left by Bodhidharma are a stepping stone for him to advance further.
June Azure Dragon grasped the relic in one hand, pouring in the purest Buddhist true essence. June Azure Dragon's foundation was far superior to molten iron. As the true essence surged, a layer of black mist enveloped his body, and two golden battle patterns spread down from his forehead, through his eyes and cheeks to his chin. The Yi Jin Jing Black-level Floating Pagoda!
The Yi Jin Jing is the supreme martial arts manual of Shaolin. Its highest level is called "Black-level Pagoda". The Black-level Pagoda is divided into three levels, namely the three-level, two-level and one-level. It is said that there is the Wujian Yi Jin Jing above the one-level.
However, the Yi Jin Jing was too powerful and was sealed away by Bodhidharma. In addition, due to a series of frighteningly high entry requirements, later disciples could only cultivate it to one level at most, and no one could go any further.
In the last hundred years, only Master Fangzheng, the head of the Arhat Hall of Shaolin, has mastered the Yi Jin Jing, but he only reached the third level of the Black Rank. Who is the leader of the Sixth Month? How did he manage to cultivate the Yi Jin Jing to the second level of the Black Rank?
That wasn't all. As the June Dragon Head grasped the Bodhidharma Relic, a massive amount of true essence flowed through the eight extraordinary meridians, connecting the three channels and seven chakras. The two battle patterns on his face slowly converged, first forming a human-shaped pattern, and then merging into one, becoming a golden battle pattern that ran through the central axis.
The Yi Jin Jing (Muscle/Tendon Changing Classic) is a Black-level Floating Pagoda Realm!
As the June Dragon Head completed its breakthrough, the Buddha light within the Bodhidharma Relic was almost completely depleted. Sensing the aura of the outsider, the June Dragon Head sneered, put the relic back in its original position, and with a flash, left the Sword Pool.
Crossing the river on a single reed.
Great Shifting Body Technique.
Using the Yi Jin Jing to activate two peerless movement techniques, the effect was no less than the Illusionary Demon Movement Technique and the Shadow Clone Technique. In an instant, the aura was concealed, as if no one had ever been there.
……
"boom!"
Li Zhaoting pointed his fingers into a sword shape and blasted open the door.
The sword intent, accumulated over a thousand years, was released and rushed straight towards Li Zhaoting. Li Zhaoting spread his hands, and the phantom images of eight precious swords gathered around him and solidified into reality.
The Gentle Sword Technique, also known as the Green Bamboo Swordplay.
Yin and Yang, Tai Chi Swordplay;
Buddha's sword, Tathagata's divine light;
Qi Sword, Six Meridian Divine Sword;
Righteousness, the Purple Soft Sword;
Haoran, the Holy King Sword Technique;
Flying sword, a hundred-step flying sword;
Drunken Sword, the Drunken Eight Immortals Sword Technique;
"Qiang!"
The Purple Rose Soft Sword popped out from the waist.
Divine weapons possess spirits; how can they be subservient to others?
Eight swords, formed from condensed energy, rapidly converged towards the Purple Star Soft Sword. The Purple Star Soft Sword trembled and became restless, then unleashed a ferocious, purplish-red dragon.
Eight swords fly together!
The unique Eight Swords Flying Together, belonging solely to Li Zhaoting.
The dragon's body, claws, tail, whiskers, eyes, horns, and scales are all lifelike, shimmering with sword light, and composed entirely of sword energy.
