Forty-nine rules of the end times

Chapter 185 "Declaration of Humanity's Unity"

Chapter 185 "Declaration of Humanity's Unity"

According to the hidden rules, Guan Tong had previously thought that if she could complete the puzzle, she would receive an extra reward.

But he never expected it to be a title.

He opened the terminal panel, switched to the title selection, and saw the effect of the new title.

[Civilization Observer]: Wearing this title grants the passive ability "Eye of True Sight".

[True Sight]: When your mental power is higher than the target's, you can see through the abilities or item effects they use.
[Note]: The history of the universe and lost civilizations gain meaning through your gaze. Note: This title can be upgraded; please explore the upgrade methods yourself.

"!"

Guan Tong was shocked when she saw the passive ability effect brought by the title.

If one's mental strength is higher than the target's, can one see through the opponent's abilities and items? Wouldn't that mean...?

His current mental power cap of 322 points is probably only surpassed by those Ascended who reached the maximum cap of 500 points during the period of the Eighth Rule.

But those people are a tiny minority, and some of them are still troubled by the mental lock, having made no progress for two consecutive months.

Guan Tong is confident that, with his current rapid growth rate, it won't be long before he catches up and surpasses those who have reached the maximum limit.

By then, when facing the vast majority of Ascended Beings, as long as he wears the title of "Civilization Observer," he will be able to perceive their abilities and item effects through the passive "Eye of True Sight."

This gives him a significant advantage in the event of a conflict. Enemies attempting to ambush him with special abilities or items will be greatly less effective against True Sight.

And he also noticed something...

"Titles can be upgraded, and the upgrade method must be explored by the user." Guan Tong guessed in his heart, "Judging from the title name, the upgrade method should be related to the theme of 'civilization'... Perhaps it involves collecting more relics of destroyed civilizations?"

Guan Tong couldn't be sure for the time being, and even so, he didn't have the means to collect the information.

Of the ten rules he can think of, besides the alien beasts of Yamo Star, there are the "Mother Transformer" that appeared in the fifth rule [Night of the Living Dead] and the "Sound Hunter" that appeared in the seventh rule [Silent Hour].

Both of these creatures are undoubtedly alien.

"If we encounter similar alien creatures again in the future, wearing this title to deal with them might be effective."

Guan Tong pondered for a moment, then focused her attention back on "The Chronicles of Yahoo!" itself.

He felt it was necessary to share the story of Yamo Star.

If only a few fragment holders and the forces behind them know a little, it doesn't mean much to humanity as a whole.

Human emotions are universal. Guan Tong's worries and reflections after seeing the murals are something that others will also have and ponder after seeing them.

That might encourage people to stop fighting and work together to overcome the rules—instead of focusing on "selection" and competing with each other for qualifications.

If, in the end, like on Yahoo!, even if a few individuals succeed in the competition and survive, is the outcome good?

Guan Tong didn't believe that the few strange beasts guarding the Fog Gate would think they were happy.

"As a human being, I will do my part for my species. Even if the final result is not satisfactory, at least I tried my best."

With this mindset, he logged into the Ascendant's Home and posted a thread in the [Webmaster Domain] section.

This section had only posted two posts about selling rule information before, and now that the third post has been published, it has quickly caused a sensation.

Some Past Events Related to the Ninth Rule of the End Times: Chronicles of Yahoo!

The post contained Guan Tong's own interpretation of the mural. He didn't know if his interpretation was entirely correct, but he couldn't share the mural props with everyone, so this was the only way.

Within an hour of the post being published, the number of replies exceeded ten thousand and was still increasing at an alarming rate. "My God! So the Ninth Rule contains so much information! I always thought it was just about fog and monsters!"

"No wonder the rules mentioned 'exploring the depths of the mist,' so that's what it meant..."

"So there really were civilizations destroyed by the fire-stealers... and more than one..."

"Won't our Tianshui Star become like Qimo Star in the future?!"

"Those beasts are so pitiful. They died without understanding anything. The Fire Stealers are so inhumane. Why don't they just issue rules to those with intelligence?"

"If human civilization is to survive, we must unite! We absolutely cannot afford to fight amongst ourselves anymore!"

People responded enthusiastically, each with their own feelings about this past event.

Some people felt horrified, some felt sorry for the situation, and others learned from the experience and considered countermeasures.

Like the general public, officials in various countries received the information immediately. After reading it, policymakers were both shocked and terrified.

If humanity is destined for a similar fate in the future, what is the point of the current open and covert struggles between nations? It's just a waste of human and material resources; the resources would be better used to fight against the rules and against those who steal fire.

Furthermore, the demise of numerous states during the period covered by Rule Ten has resulted in a massive number of refugees from exiled nations. Ignoring this situation would cause a tremendous humanitarian catastrophe. Human beings are so precious now; wouldn't letting them die be a tremendous loss?

In addition, the remaining countries also felt a sense of impending doom, fearing that they would be the next to collapse and disintegrate, so they were all eager to do something.

Thus, triggered by Guan Tong's post, high-ranking officials from various countries began frequently calling the offices of high-ranking officials in other countries.

Discussion, research, consultation, and coordination.

Until the end of April, on the 29th, two days before the release of the eleventh doomsday rule, a joint declaration signed by all the remaining thirty-four countries in the world was released on live television.

The declaration, titled "Declaration of the Union of Mankind," was read live by the heads of state of people around the world.

"A full year has passed since the first Doomsday Rule was issued. At this historic moment, we humans are undoubtedly facing a clear and imminent threat. This threat transcends all national borders, races, beliefs, and ideologies, directly challenging the survival of human civilization and the future of life on Tianshui."

At this critical juncture, we realize that old conflicts have lost their meaning, and that the fate of the individual is closely linked to the fate of the collective, and they are inseparable.

Based on our shared appreciation for life and our shared desire for survival, we have decided to set aside all disputes and pool the strength, wisdom, and resources of all humankind to issue this joint declaration:

Humanity is a unified whole; the diversity of nations, ethnicities, and cultures is a source of our strength, not a boundary of division. Under the threat of apocalyptic rules, we pledge to act as a unified whole—a community with a shared future for mankind.

Tianshui is our shared home, and we have an undeniable responsibility to protect it. We will defend our home, safeguard every life, and ensure the continuation of human civilization with the utmost determination and perseverance.

To this end, our 34 nations pledge to break down formidable knowledge barriers. Scientific discoveries, technological advancements, medical knowledge, and strategic resources will all be shared to serve the conditions of an apocalyptic world and to protect humanity.

We solemnly declare that, from the date this declaration takes effect, all military confrontations and hostilities between nations shall immediately cease. Our weapons and armed forces will be used to resist rule-breaking, carry out humanitarian aid and engineering projects.

To effectively implement this declaration, the thirty-four countries jointly established the 'Committee of Human Rights' upon its issuance, and established the following mechanisms:
First, we will establish a cross-national joint command center to coordinate all global post-apocalyptic rule-based response actions, share rule-based intelligence, and ensure high decision-making efficiency and rapid implementation.

Second, we will establish a global resource coordination center. This center will coordinate and allocate global resources, including food, water, and energy, as well as industrial materials, to ensure a balance between resource supply and waste reduction to the greatest extent possible.

Third, we will launch the 'Library of Civilization' project, which will preserve all of humanity's language, history, art, knowledge, and cultural achievements in both digital and physical forms.

Finally, with this declaration as our witness, we, the entire human race, pledge:

All of humanity will stand together through thick and thin, sharing life and death.

For those who live today, for those yet to be born, we will fight to the last. Until dawn breaks, or our story is etched into the stars.
