Chapter 15 Fix bayonets and deal with these gray beasts!
"By the cold-blooded lady, who is that fighting so fiercely over there? Are they our allies?"
In one trench, a group of Cambrian Empire soldiers were pinned down by the artillery fire raining down from the sky, barely able to lift their heads. But just then, they noticed the commotion on the flank.
Although the other side was shrouded in smoke and dust, with white mist everywhere, they couldn't see what was happening there.
However, the continuous gunfire and the occasional screams of the enemy provided them with ample room for imagination.
"Brothers, let's move over there and join them, then charge out together!"
"Use smoke grenades for cover, and we'll fight those damned Black Hawk devils in close combat. The children of the polar bear are never afraid of a fight!"
Upon seeing this, an officer shouted to the soldiers around him and then quickly ran towards a nearby mortar.
There were smoke grenades in the ammunition box next to the mortar. In previous battles, they had always used smoke to cover the position, but they never thought of using the smoke as cover to rush up and fight the enemy with bayonets.
Braving enemy fire, after firing several smoke grenades with the mortar, a group of soldiers in gray uniforms roared and charged forward before the Black Hawk soldiers, who were mixed in with the smoke, could retreat.
Battles like this were breaking out in many places across the entire position. Trapped on this position and without rear support, the Cambrian soldiers all chose to fight to the death in this way.
Despite the lack of unified command, they all rushed towards Andrei's location, perhaps because Andrei's charge was the most powerful and his group was at the forefront.
Because of the presence of other players, Andrei's charge was incredibly fierce.
Although the other soldiers were also brave and fearless, charging forward with bayonets in hand, they found themselves inexplicably becoming easy targets.
Those players have insane stamina, and they all run around everywhere, making them very good at weaving in and out of situations.
Their automatic weapons fired continuously, taking down multiple enemies in the blink of an eye, leaving them no chance to retaliate.
Even if they encounter a small number of enemies hiding in craters, they will throw a bunch of grenades first, blowing all the enemies hiding in blind spots into the air.
Logically speaking, at this rate of fire, a normal soldier would have run out of bullets long ago.
However, putting aside the question of how much ammunition a player with insane stamina can carry, the sheer amount of ammunition supplied by support soldiers is enough to make players a perpetual ammunition machine.
Andrei even went to see it for himself and studied what the ammunition pack actually did.
He discovered that the ammunition inside the ammunition box that the player had just thrown away was exactly the same type of ammunition as the bullets for his pistol.
But before that, he clearly saw a player passing by the ammunition box take out a bundle of grenades and several long magazines, none of which matched his pistol bullets.
"Damn! The physics engine in the game is insane when applied to real life!"
Andrei exclaimed, somewhat astonished, that the more he spent time with these players, the more outrageous they seemed.
But there was no time to think about that. He had to keep up with the players and keep rushing forward, occasionally blowing a whistle to signal the players to gather in his direction.
These players, relying on their unlimited stamina, could keep running indefinitely, and they all went crazy with energy!
The problem is, these guys get all worked up when they fight, and they run around like headless flies.
If Andrei hadn't been reminding them to regroup every now and then, these guys would probably have already run into the enemy command post! No, at their current rate of charge, they really would be heading straight for the enemy command post!
Meanwhile, on the Black Hawk Empire's positions, the officers were completely bewildered by the Cambrian soldiers who were mixed in with the attacking troops and launching a counter-charge towards them.
"For the sake of the Emperor, these idiots are going too far! What are those stupid Yankees thinking?"
A group of Black Hawk officers, fresh out of military academy and ready to make their mark on the battlefield, were momentarily stunned as they watched the billowing smoke approaching from afar.
"Captain, fire with our machine guns! Otherwise they'll charge!"
A Black Hawk officer spoke to a captain wearing a peaked cap, but the captain shook his head.
"That's enough. It's not time for that yet. Our comrades are all mixed up with the enemy right now. Are you trying to kill everyone by using a machine gun?"
Immediately afterwards, holding a pistol in one hand and drawing his saber in the other, he shouted to the other soldiers:
"Men, fix bayonets! Charge and kill them! For the glory of the Teutons, attack!"
Despite the enemy's fierce offensive, the captain had great confidence in his soldiers.
Long-term training, coupled with ample food, has given them both excellent hand-to-hand combat skills and strong stamina.
Therefore, he did not believe for a second that his soldiers could lose to a group of serfs' sons in hand-to-hand combat.
Although the Cambrian Empire had long since liberated its serfs, in the eyes of the Black Hawk Empire, they were no different from serfs, still nothing more than a bunch of gray livestock.
A large number of Black Hawk soldiers leaped out of the trenches, confidently charging into the smoke, only to be met with an embarrassing moment.
Their numerical advantage was completely useless against the players who charged at them like madmen, firing wildly at them.
Before the soldiers who had just stepped out of the trenches could figure out what was happening, a series of smoke grenades were thrown at them, and then they couldn't figure out where the enemy had come from.
The player wielding a spiked club, known as the Smoke Demon, attacks fiercely and deadly; a single blow can shatter the head of a Black Hawk soldier.
Normal Cambrian soldiers could never kill as swiftly and decisively as this player, taking down an enemy in a second—this hand speed is simply outrageous!
What terrified the Black Hawk soldiers even more was that after they had finally managed to kill one enemy, the next enemy, right in front of them, took a small needle and pricked the corpse on the ground.
Immediately afterwards, in full view of everyone, the player whose heart he had stabbed with a bayonet suddenly sprang back to life!
"...Necromantic magic, this must be necromancy!"
"Damn it, the despicable Cambrian Empire is hypocritical. They accuse us on one hand, but use necromancy on the other. How despicable!"
As Andrei listened to the shouts and yells coming from the smoke, he subconsciously frowned. He could understand what the guys on the other side were saying.
However, the word "necromancy" made him think of something ominous.
