Chapter 198 Alert! Nighttime Attack!
Having inexplicably led the girl to a morgue, Andrei found it difficult to maintain his composure.

But when he actually stepped inside, his expression unconsciously became serious, and his eyes grew increasingly solemn.

It can be said that in his entire life, including both before and after his transmigration, Andrei had never seen so many dead people placed together.

Looking around, the huge factory was almost completely filled with corpses, with bodies dressed in gray military uniforms everywhere, covered with large patches of blood that had turned blackish-brown.

Some elderly women were busy covering the corpses with black cloths, while several nuns rang bells and sang requiems for the bodies.

The nuns here are not medical nuns like Yelena; they are just ordinary nuns with faith but little power.

In fact, among the clergy of the Cambrian Empire, those with special powers were ultimately only a very small minority; the vast majority were just ordinary people with no special powers whatsoever.

They have various reasons for believing in gods: some want to find spiritual sustenance, some hope that their piety will move the gods and gain them power, and some simply worship the gods.

Besides these people, Andrei saw his soldiers in a corner to the side.

The vast majority of soldiers, witnessing this solemn and heavy scene, took off their hats and stood there with solemn expressions. Some even closed their eyes and prayed quietly, seemingly hoping that the gods would bless the souls of their fallen comrades so that they could rest in peace.

However, there were also some people who appeared equally solemn, even placing flowers they had found from who-knows-where on the chests of these corpses.

In reality, these guys were already chatting away enthusiastically in a chat channel whose logic was unclear.

Rice Noodle Roll Cat: [Hey, look at the dog tag on this corpse, it looks like an identity I used before!]

Xin Liezhi: [Not bad, not bad, and the tag on this corpse is also an identity I used before!]

The Celestial Being Who Knows Me: [Huh? I didn't expect my corpse to be dragged back. I thought it had been blown to pieces by the cannon fire!]

Andrei: ...

He had to admit that watching these players stand there, discussing which of the corpses on the ground belonged to them, gave him a chilling feeling.

While it's normal for this kind of thing to happen to players, from his perspective, it seems quite supernatural.

Looking at the corpse before her, Yelena joined the chanting of the requiem, her eyes filled with sorrow.

Many of the corpses on the ground were ones she had treated, but unfortunately, even a medical nun can't save everyone from every kind of injury.

Some people who have already lost too much blood and are on their deathbed will still die even if their wounds are sealed.

Some of the bodies were already dead when they were brought to Yelena's side, but their comrades insisted that these people were still alive and strongly demanded that they continue to be treated.

Yelena never argued with the soldiers about such matters, because she knew how they felt.

She would usually just have the soldiers put the body aside first, and then have others carry the body out after the soldiers left.

According to the final statistics, Andrei's entire infantry regiment lost more than 900 men in this war, a casualty rate that was extremely high.

The other friendly units were all shocked when they saw so many corpses belonging to the Andrei Infantry Regiment, and even some who couldn't even afford to piece the bodies together and could only bring back the dog tags.

Before this, they only saw Andrei's success in the war and the series of brilliant victories he achieved, but they did not see the sacrifices made by Andrei's men.

The thought that Andrei had almost wiped out his entire infantry regiment before achieving such a result filled many people with awe.

If it were their troops, after suffering such heavy casualties, they would probably have collapsed long ago, and would not have been able to continue fighting the enemy.
Many officers rushed over to comfort Andrei, but faced with the corpses before them, they didn't know what to say for a moment, and could only pat Andrei on the shoulder.

Andrei did not respond to the comfort offered by these people; he simply stared at the corpses before him for a long time.

He knew that most of these corpses were actually the corpses of players, and the number of ordinary soldiers who actually belonged to him was less than 200.

Even so, his entire infantry regiment was wiped out by about a third of its men, because in addition to the corpses, many soldiers were seriously wounded or even disabled, and many of them were no longer able to return to the battlefield.

Recalling the seriously injured people he had seen in the hospital, he didn't know whether they were lucky or unlucky.

From a fortunate perspective, they will never have to fight on the battlefield again, and they will never have to fight their way out of such a living hell again.

However, at the same time, they often suffer from lifelong disabilities that can trouble them for the rest of their lives, and many even lose the ability to take care of themselves.

Therefore, it's really hard for him to say who is the luckier one.

He didn't recognize most of the corpses in front of him.

Unfortunately, Andrei didn't have a particularly strong ability to recognize people to begin with. In addition, after transmigrating here, surrounded by a group of white faces and their long names, he really had a hard time remembering them.

Moreover, he only spent a few days with these soldiers in total, and many of them were just acquaintances with him, without even exchanging a few words. Naturally, he couldn't possibly remember all of them in such a short time.

Even so, he still felt sorrow for the corpses before him.

These people in front of me are different from the players who are independent in the world. They are not players, but rather they have been randomly assigned an identity. In reality, they are orphans.

They have their own relatives, their own friends and family, and their own lives and dreams.

However, none of these things mattered to them anymore, because all that lay there were cold corpses, regardless of their status in life; now they were all the same.

Just then, Andrei suddenly heard a quarrel coming from afar.

"Hey, old nun, what do you mean by this? Explain yourself!"

"Why? Why can't we bury our comrades? What do you mean they have to be gathered together and cremated?"

Andrei looked into the distance and saw that the argument was between soldiers in his own ranks, so he quickly ran over.

Meanwhile, the old nun, surrounded by several tall soldiers, spoke with some fear but still with unwavering resolve:
"I'm sorry, my fellow warriors. If we had the means, we would also like to give these heroes a proper burial, but the damned Black Hawk Empire has forced us to do so!"

"The enemy has used a lot of evil necromancy on the battlefield, awakening the bones of countless martyrs. If we do not want their bodies to be desecrated and played with by the enemy after death, we have no choice but to burn them to ashes!"

"But, but..."

Upon hearing this explanation, the soldiers who had been furious earlier were momentarily speechless.

Reason told them that the nun was right.

They couldn't guarantee they could stop the enemy on the other side of the river; no one could.

If the enemy attacks, the corpses of these comrades will turn around and become skeleton soldiers charging at their positions, forcing them to turn their swords against their fallen comrades.

But if the body were simply dragged out and burned, they would find it difficult to accept emotionally.

Because in their minds, the corpses that would be disposed of in this way were usually those who died of plague, or simply worthless death row inmates.

As warriors of the empire, they deserve to enjoy even greater treatment after death!

Just then, Andrei walked over, patted several soldiers on the shoulder, and said:

"Alright, soldiers, disperse! This old woman is right!"

"If we truly want to respect the bodies of our fallen comrades and do not wish for them to be desecrated by the enemy's evil sorcery, then this is the only way we can do it."

"I believe that if they were still alive, they would understand this approach. As true warriors, they would never want their corpses to become puppets for the enemy's evil deeds!"

"Or do you want your corpses to be manipulated by the enemy, forcing you to kill your comrades under their control?"

Upon hearing Andrei's words, the soldiers turned around and saw their commander.

"I'm sorry, Commander, we got a little too excited!"

Upon seeing Andrei, they quickly bowed and apologized cautiously.

"It's alright, I understand you. I don't want the warriors' bodies to end up in such a sorry state either, but the evil enemy has forced us to do this!"

"If you are angry about this, then unleash that anger on the enemy in the war to come!"

Upon hearing Andrei's words, the surrounding soldiers became excited again.

The leader is right. Why should they get angry with these nuns?

These nuns were doing it for their own good; they shouldn't take their anger out on their own people.

Ultimately, all of this is caused by the evil Black Hawk Empire. Since that's the case, let them slaughter more Black Hawk devils on the battlefield and pay for their comrades' blood debts!
In an instant, the soldiers' morale soared again, and more and more soldiers moved toward Andrei.

Seeing this, before the crowd could gather, Andrei quickly pulled Yelena along and left first.

He had already experienced the treatment of a "celebrity" in Pskov, and he didn't want to be surrounded by a bunch of soldiers all day, with a bunch of people wanting him to say something.

If one day the Tsar's special forces notice him again, and he happens to be surrounded in a beer hall, giving a speech to a group of cheering soldiers, that would be disastrous.

He didn't want to be a mustachioed man, and he had no interest in failing in his beer hall business and ending up in jail.

After leaving this place, Andrei glanced at the clear sky and felt as if his heavy mood had been swept away.

Just then, he suddenly remembered the martyrs' cemetery he and Yelena had seen earlier, and frowned as he asked:

"Yelena, speaking of which, what should we do with the martyrs' cemetery we visited earlier?"

"Besides this one, are there any other cemeteries in the city?"

Hearing Andrei's question, Yelena frowned as well.

"I don't know, no one has told me about this before, but I guess these cemeteries might have to be dug up and the remains inside burned together?"

"Otherwise, if the enemy army attacks again, or if a few necromancers infiltrate this city, wouldn't all the corpses here become accomplices of the enemy?"

Andrei frowned deeply; he didn't know what to do with these cemeteries either.

It's understandable that the bodies of these soldiers, who haven't been buried yet, are gathered together and burned.

If those bodies that have been buried for decades or even centuries are required to be exhumed and their remains destroyed in a centralized manner, what will their descendants think?
From Andrei's perspective, at least, he felt he could not accept having his ancestral graves dug up because of the war.

Even rationally speaking, he knew that if these people didn't dig up his ancestral graves, the enemy would, and they would even make his ancestors come out of the dead to kill people.

But emotionally, he felt he couldn't accept it.

Fortunately, not long after, the church received a unified order from the rear: the cemeteries of the major cathedrals should not be disturbed and should remain as they are.

Andrei was initially surprised, but then he seemed to understand the reasoning behind the order.

Indeed, if these cemeteries were excavated, they could prevent the enemy from converting all the corpses inside into undead units, thus preventing the enemy's forces from strengthening further.

However, the resentment from digging up ancestral graves will not dissipate, but will be transferred to the rear that issued the order and the church that carried it out.

This would cause soldiers and civilians to harbor resentment towards the rear and the church, inevitably leading to instability in the army.

If anyone takes this opportunity to spread rumors, it could very well trigger a serious riot.

In contrast, if these cemeteries are left untouched, and the enemy chooses to excavate them, then that hatred will inevitably be transferred to the enemy without mercy.

If the propaganda machine in the rear were to be activated in time and take this opportunity to spread propaganda, it could instantly unite the entire empire in hatred against the enemy.

Thinking about this, Andrei suddenly felt that the Black Hawk Empire's use of necromancers to excavate corpses was actually a rather foolish approach.

While doing so would indeed enhance their own strength in the short term, it would also further strengthen the enemy's will to resist, and might even cause discontent among many who might otherwise have sided with them.

Needless to say, let's just talk about the internal dissection law of the Black Hawk Empire.

These guys are demanding that citizens not bury their bodies unless they pay a huge tax bill, and that they donate their loved ones' bodies for so-called medical research.

Andrei estimated that this issue had been suppressed by public opinion within the Black Hawk Empire, so no problems had arisen for the time being.

But one day, this could easily become a powder keg that destroys the Black Hawk Empire, because no one wants to die without peace.

"Damn it, looking at it this way, the Cambrian Empire's 14-hour workday is too lenient, actually requiring that the maximum daily working hours not exceed 14 hours!"

Thinking of this, Andrei suddenly couldn't help but swear.

Before this, he thought the Cambrian Empire's 14-hour workday was quite outrageous, since other countries implemented an 8 to 9-hour workday, at least in theory.

But now, putting aside other countries, just look at the Black Hawk Empire.

Even after death, their corpses are not allowed to rest; they are transformed into skeleton soldiers to continue working as laborers, and even sent to the battlefield as cannon fodder.

All Andrei can say is, the Black Hawk Empire is far too capitalist!

They really are capitalists!
Before they knew it, it was evening. Andrei's troops were resting at their base, while most of the players had either taken on patrol or anti-aircraft missions and were scattered throughout the city.

Prior to this, he had actually applied to send his troops to launch a night raid, secretly crossing the river to the other side to launch a surprise attack on the enemy.

Although the bridge has been destroyed, players with swimming skills can cross the river on their own without any problem.

With the support of the air force and the skillful maneuvers of these players, he was confident that he could keep the enemy forces on the other side of the river from having any peace, and even cause them to suffer heavy casualties if they were not careful.

Needless to say, all he needs to do is have the players cover a few intruders as they infiltrate the enemy camp and unleash a wave of warp bombardment!

If they didn't blow up a thousand or so enemy soldiers in one go, then Andrei could only say that these invaders had wasted their time.

Unfortunately, Andrei's order for a night raid was rejected.

When Andrei heard his proposal, Vasily Novikov, the city's defense commander, immediately vetoed it and strongly urged Andrei to take his troops to rest.

He believed that perhaps the previous war had caused Andrei's troops to suffer too many casualties, leading to Andrei's extreme hatred for the Black Hawk Empire, which he had not yet adjusted to, thus prompting him to propose such a crazy battle plan.

In his view, this plan was simply sending soldiers to their deaths on the other side!

Putting aside how to get soldiers to cross the river secretly, just the fact that they sent soldiers over there, how many could they possibly send?
Sending at most a few hundred people to raid an army of at least tens of thousands is not bravery, it's clearly suicide!

They would be better off using their time to have their artillery engage the enemy in a war of artillery!
As for Andrei's suggestion that their air force could also take action and send its air force to bomb the enemy, this proposal was also rejected by the city's garrison commander.

Upon hearing this, Andrei was momentarily confused. What was going on with the city defense commander? Why was it so difficult for him to volunteer for battle?
Seeing Andrei's unpleasant expression, the city defense commander thought of Andrei's general father and finally pulled Andrei aside, explaining in a low voice:
"Lieutenant Colonel Vorontsov, you'd better be careful with your air force operations lately, because many of the Reich's air forces are already feeling unbalanced by your achievements!"

"Before this, the Empire's air force had been in a state of utter defeat, but your team had just acquired that special aircraft and had achieved great success in air combat, even capturing a special enemy airship."

"This has made many air force generals resent you, feeling that you are stealing the credit that they deserve!"

"We did have a night raid planned for tonight, but the other side strongly insisted that we absolutely could not allow your troops to participate. They want to use this battle to prove their strength."

What the hell? What kind of brain-dead behavior is this from the Air Force?
After hearing what the city defense commander said, Andrei initially thought the man was being abstract.

In his mind, shouldn't this kind of brainless behavior only appear in some mindless online novels?
But after confirming it again and again, he realized that he was really being resented by those useless guys in the Air Force!
Many air force generals are now divided into two factions. One faction believes that Andrei's team was able to gain such a great advantage over the enemy simply because of the new aircraft.

They are now demanding that the Imperial Logistics Department equip their air force with the new aircraft as quickly as possible, while also requesting the Army Front Command to transfer all of Andrei's air vehicles to their forces.

Andrei, the army commander, naturally rejected this attempt to seize equipment without hesitation.

joke!

Although it was inconvenient for him to give his son preferential treatment, as the commander of an army group, could he really allow anyone to bully his own son?
His own son fought valiantly at the front, achieving a series of victories, and then these people stole his team's equipment. What kind of nonsense is this?

The other side believes that Andrei was just lucky to achieve such results.

Therefore, they were eager to prove the strength of their air force through a victory, thereby showing that their air force was not to be underestimated and that there was no need to praise the pilots of an independent regiment all day long!

As the commander spoke, the airship formation in Luga City happened to leave the base and slowly passed over Andrei's head.

Looking at the group of guys above him, Andrei could only roll his eyes in annoyance and wish them good luck.

Seriously, I'm speechless. Since these people are so eager to die, why not let their own people help them? Let them die slowly then.

It's not a good deal to rush in like that. He'll wait until these guys suffer losses and come begging to him before he sends players to launch an airstrike.

Seeing Andrei roll his eyes, the city defense commander sitting in front of him shrugged.

"Lieutenant Colonel Vorontsov, I'm just giving you a heads-up. Once you leave this room, I won't admit to anything I said!"

"Moreover, in my opinion, you don't need to be in such a hurry. Your promotion order should be issued in a couple of days, and your troops will naturally expand accordingly."

"If you want revenge against the Black Hawkmen, then you might as well go and fight them with a larger army when the time comes."

Ah, I'm finally getting promoted!
Upon hearing this, Andrei's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but give the war a silent thumbs up.

Under normal circumstances, he would have had to slowly accumulate seniority to get promoted, unlike now where his promotion speed is like a rocket.

It's important to understand that although he had experienced a series of battles before, from his promotion in Pskov to leading troops here, and finally arriving here, it had actually been less than a week.

If we count from when he left Pskov, only three days have passed.

In such a short time, he was able to be promoted from captain to lieutenant colonel, and even has the opportunity to be promoted to colonel. That's really amazing!

What? He was a cheater all along?
Oh, that’s okay!

Emerging from the city defense commander's office, he confirmed that he indeed wouldn't get any opportunities for a night raid. Andrei had only assigned his players night patrols and the task of operating anti-aircraft guns to defend against enemy air force.

Of course, the task of operating the anti-aircraft gun to defend against the enemy air force will only be carried out when the enemy air force arrives, so the player's current task is only one: night patrol.

However, when Andrei assigned the night patrol mission, he deliberately made the patrol area for players more general and expanded.

He was forbidden from sending people to conduct night raids, but these players acted on their own, sneaking away from patrols to launch surprise attacks on the enemy. He couldn't possibly control that, could he?

As for the criminal responsibility these players should bear for acting without authorization?

That depends on what results the players can achieve in the end!

As long as the fighting is impressive enough, the higher-ups won't punish these soldiers; they're not stupid.

What the Cambrian Empire needs most now is elite troops capable of fighting; everything will be decided by the results of battles.

If they could truly achieve victory, Andrei was fully confident that when they turned around, they would definitely have to change the story of this incident from soldiers acting on their own to: an amazing victory achieved under the wise leadership of a certain commander.

When giving the mission, Andrei even gave the player a hint.

"Patrol, patrol. I didn't tell you which street you'd be patrolling, so you can patrol anywhere you deem worthy of vigilance!"

"Even if you think the enemy's camp is worth guarding and go to patrol their camp, that's still a patrol, understand?"

Upon receiving this mission, the players, who had initially found patrolling boring, exchanged glances and then grinned.

Wow, their commander is interesting!

I understand, I understand perfectly! How could they not understand?

The players grinned from ear to ear, and Andrei's lips also curled into a smile.

There are policies and measures to counter.

Given his desire to get players involved in the battle and kill as many enemies as possible, how could the higher-ups possibly stop him?
Even if the higher-ups really want to hold him accountable, he can use his war merits to speak for himself. What's more, Andrei has now acquired the skill of using the language of treachery!
He wanted to see just how persuasive his words would be when he activated this skill.

Actually, the city defense commander had been wanting to activate this skill, but he was angered by the air force's attitude.

Why would he go to such lengths to send his own people to aid the Air Force when these people were both jealous and ostracizing him?
It was precisely because he didn't want to pay attention to those idiots that Andrei didn't activate his skill at the time, but instead obediently retreated.

After seeing the player off, Andrei joined a regular patrol team and patrolled with the other soldiers.

Upon seeing the renowned "Luga River Iron Wall," and even having joined the ranks, the soldiers were immediately overjoyed.

Although Andrei's sudden joining of their team was somewhat against the patrol's rules, it didn't matter; Andrei was a combat hero!

Could such a hero, a promising officer, possibly be a spy in their ranks?

Having successfully infiltrated the patrol team, Andrei smiled.

He is neither with his soldiers nor in the regimental command post; he is either patrolling with other soldiers or wandering around at night because he can't sleep.

Therefore, even if his soldiers caused a great disturbance, it was simply because they acted on their own initiative.

You can't exactly say that when they secretly infiltrated to the other side of the river, Andrei was just strolling around with the other soldiers in the patrol, and that he was commanding them to fight while he was just strolling around, can you?

However, having only recently joined the patrol team, Andrei glanced casually at his mini-map and his gaze suddenly froze.

He discovered on the minimap that there was a series of red markers on another street next to his own!
What does this mean? It means that enemy troops have infiltrated!

Seeing the patrol team completely unprepared and unaware that the enemy was nearby, Andrei frowned slightly.

If he had known, he wouldn't have sent all the players out, which resulted in him not having a single player by his side as a guard.

After thinking for a moment, he quickly and secretly issued a task:
[Side Quest: The commander has discovered an enemy infiltration force that has lurked in the city. Immediately proceed to support the commander's patrol! Quest Reward: 2000 Merit Points! Number of Participants: 0/20]

After issuing the task, Andrei breathed a sigh of relief.

He saw that several squads representing players were rapidly approaching from the edge of the minimap.

Based on the players' running speed, they won't have to run there for long.

But just then, the minimap showed that an enemy squad located on the next street was actually sneaking into this area through the alley.

Without a second thought, Andrei quickly patted the shoulders of several patrolling soldiers beside him and whispered to them:

"Wait a minute, everyone be careful! I hear footsteps approaching, but these footsteps don't sound like the Cambrian people!"

"Load your bullets; it's highly likely that enemy saboteurs have infiltrated!"

Upon hearing Andrei's words, the group of soldiers on patrol were slightly taken aback, and their conversation ceased.

"Sir, where did you hear the footsteps? I didn't hear anything."

One of the soldiers nervously looked around and cautiously asked Andrei.

But as soon as he finished speaking, the soldier behind him kicked him in the butt.

"Shut up, you idiot! Follow the lieutenant colonel's orders!"

"That lieutenant colonel is a combat hero who has fought his way through battlefields and emerged from piles of corpses. He's much more perceptive than you!"

Upon seeing this, Andrei was stunned for a moment.

I never expected that my current fame would bring me such benefits.

In the past, if he were just an ordinary spoiled young master captain, the soldiers around him would most likely not believe him when he said this, even though he was indeed their superior.

But now, after he has achieved a series of fruitful results on the battlefield, he doesn't even need to find a reason for it; people immediately jump out to speak up for him.

Of course, it's also possible that Andrei had already drawn his pistol and loaded it.

His current posture doesn't look like he's joking at all; he looks quite serious!
After glancing at the street, Andrei quickly arranged for several soldiers to crouch on both sides of the alley, so that their rifles could form a crossfire.

Meanwhile, Andrei hid at the back of the column and quietly changed into the trench warfare suit.

Although the No. 3 pistol used by the trench soldier was very different from his own, it is believed that under the system's cognitive filter, the surrounding soldiers would not notice this.

Switching to the Trench Warriors greatly increases his chances of survival in urban warfare, far better than his previous patrol role where he was just running around naked with a small pistol.

A Black Hawk infiltration team, which was rapidly approaching this direction, had no idea that the enemy had already discovered their presence and was prepared to engage them.

Led by a guide, they were walking silently along the street toward the city church.

Because in this group were two necromancers, and their special team's goal was to go to the church cemetery and awaken all the corpses there.

The Black Hawk Empire knew that the Cambrian army would not leave the corpses to them now, but would instead gather them all together and burn them.

So they planned to take advantage of this opportunity to make use of the corpses before the enemy had time to burn them all and dispose of them in the cemetery.

By simply sending out a few battle mages, along with a small squad of elite soldiers, they could potentially obtain hundreds of thousands of corpses—an extremely worthwhile deal.

Even if all these battle mages were to die, it would only be a minor loss at most.

At the head of the group, the guide, who had already pledged allegiance to the Black Hawk Empire, led the group forward with a nervous yet somewhat excited expression.

Prior to this, he had already made contact with the Black Hawks. As long as he could make some contributions in this operation, he would be able to obtain a good citizen certificate after the Black Hawk Empire occupied this place.

With this certificate of good conduct, he can not only protect his family and property, but also be given priority in hiring for many important positions.

Faced with such temptation, coupled with his long-standing pessimism about war, he quickly succumbed and even turned to believe in the Black Hawk's nationalistic theories, thinking that he should really serve the Black Hawk, a superior race.

Just as the guide was about to walk out of the alley, the Black Hawk soldiers following closely behind him subtly slowed their pace.

The other soldiers behind him were puzzled, wondering why he had suddenly stopped.

However, upon seeing his gesture, the soldiers all stopped and pointed their submachine guns forward.

The guide was completely unaware of the danger; at that moment, he was still fantasizing about his wonderful future.

But as he stepped out of the alley, two rifle bullets suddenly shot from either side, instantly taking his life.

Before he fell to the ground, he saw several Cambrian soldiers hiding nearby and the dark muzzles of their guns.

For some reason, he suddenly felt a little regretful.

"Sir, this..."

The Cambrian soldiers on both sides of the alley fired two shots, only to find that they had only killed an elderly civilian, and were momentarily at a loss.

They weren't quite sure whether they were just being paranoid and accidentally killed an ordinary civilian, or whether they had actually killed an enemy saboteur.

They hesitated, unsure of what to do, but Andrei had no such problem at all.

"The enemy is still hiding in the alley, don't get distracted!"

Using the minimap, Andrei clearly saw the red color on the man's body. If he were just an ordinary civilian, there would be no way he would have red on his body.

Even if he didn't support the Cambrian Empire in his heart, he would at most appear as a neutral unit; he couldn't possibly turn into a hostile red.

Furthermore, through the mini-map, Andrei clearly saw a series of red dots in the alley, so he threw a grenade without hesitation and tossed it into the alley.

Boom!

A loud bang was heard, followed by screams and curses in Black Hawk language.

"Damn it, what the hell! How did they find us?"

A Black Hawk soldier hiding in the alley was cursing under his breath while clutching his arm.

He found this utterly absurd. The reason he had let that person go out first was because he was worried that they might run into a Cambrian patrol.

With this guy blocking the way and drawing attention, they can quickly take out the patrol with submachine guns, or simply have the elite squad flank them from the other side and slit their throats.

But he never expected that the Cambrian patrol would be so fierce!
Even with a curfew in place, these guys wouldn't open fire on anyone who appears on the street the moment they see them, would they?

Aren't they afraid of accidentally hurting themselves?

But the grenades that followed made it clear to them that their position had been exposed!
No matter how paranoid the enemy is, they wouldn't throw grenades into the alley for no reason; they know there are people in the alley!
"Quick, don't stop, charge out with me! I'll hold the shield up in front!"

Just then, a necromancer in the group suddenly shouted and immediately erected a bone shield in front of him.
