Chapter 263 Son of the Night Demon: We've been betrayed!

Chapter 263 Son of the Night Demon: We've been betrayed!
"...Impossible, absolutely impossible, you can't fool me!"

"Despicable, shameless, and lowlife! If you hadn't already discovered my identity, why did you send so many soldiers with you?"

In the interrogation room, the Black Hawk spy, tightly bound in shackles, roared angrily after hearing the questions posed by the special forces opposite him:
"I admit I failed, that I actually got caught by you, but you shouldn't have insulted my dignity!"

"It was clearly you who discovered my identity and sent a large number of soldiers to arrest me, which is why I surrendered. What do you mean by saying that in the end I surrendered to you voluntarily?"

Startled by the Black Hawk spy's agitation, the Black Pitt officer sitting across from him frowned and said:

"Shut up, no loud noises allowed!"

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but according to the records, you did choose to surrender to General Vorontsov’s soldiers and voluntarily admitted to being a spy.”

"Besides you, there are five other Black Hawk spies in the same situation. The files all say that General Vorontsov's soldiers encountered Black Hawk spies who turned themselves in while on patrol."

The special military officer frowned, looking at the file in his hand with a hint of confusion.

He couldn't figure out what was going on either; that's what the records said anyway.

"Slander! This is slander! You despicable bunch..."

Upon hearing that the file recorded it this way, the Black Hawk spy couldn't help but shout and curse excitedly.

However, the special forces interrogating him were not going to be polite. Before he could finish speaking, a thin leather whip lashed him hard, tearing his skin open on the spot.

The leather whip, dipped in salt water and chili water, lashed across the Black Hawk spy's body, instantly eliciting a piercing scream from him.

Even so, he still looked at the special forces in front of him with a fierce gaze.

Because the situation recorded in the file is completely different from what he actually experienced; this is a fundamental difference in concepts!
He simply realized that once he was exposed, there was no hope of resistance, so he was forced to surrender, which was a wise choice.

Because if a spy like him were to die in vain, the information he possessed would be lost and unable to be transmitted.

Even if he surrenders, the Black Hawk Empire might exchange him for other prisoners of war.

But if he chose to surrender to the Cambrian soldiers, the situation would be different; in that case, his actions would be considered treason!

At that point, let alone how much use he would have in the hands of the Cambrian people, he would certainly not be able to return to the Black Hawk Empire.

Never underestimate the Black Hawk Empire's intelligence infiltration into Cambrian territory. Information like this, recorded in archives, can easily be obtained by Black Hawk spies when they turn around.

The special military commanders were confused about what was going on, and someone came over to ask Andrei.

Compared to before, because Andrei's status has changed drastically, their attitude towards Andrei has become significantly more polite.

At the very least, they no longer dare to question the authenticity of Andrei's military achievements, nor do they dare to directly express their doubts about the files Andrei submitted. They can only subtly inquire about what exactly happened.

To this, Andrei simply shrugged and then replied with a feigned look of confusion:
"Everyone, I'm still quite confused about what you're asking me!"

"I just had the soldiers patrol the city of Petrograd a lot these days to prepare for future street fighting. I don't know how it happened, but as they were patrolling, some Black Hawk spies came to surrender on their own initiative."

"If you don't believe me, you can ask that spy. Did these soldiers accuse him of being a spy? It's obvious that these guys are just being paranoid and can't handle the psychological pressure!"

The special forces didn't know if Andrei's words were true or not, but they relayed them to the spies.

When the spy heard this, he almost spat out a mouthful of soda.

"Damn it, is it because I can't handle the psychological pressure?"

"Damn it, you sent a whole company of soldiers who followed me for three whole blocks. What else could this be but an attempt to arrest me? It can't be that you think I'm a cute civilian!"

"What? You mean they asked questions proactively?"

"We've already come to this point, what difference does it make whether they ask questions or not? Can't I at least fight for my last shred of dignity?"

In any case, the special forces were completely baffled by Andrei's soldiers, and at the same time, they couldn't help but suspect that Andrei might have his own unique intelligence system.

At the very least, he should have an intelligence system that is completely different from that of the Cambrian Empire's special forces.

To be honest, even the special forces themselves didn't believe that Andrei's soldiers would shoot without reason, or that they had just randomly picked someone on the street to follow.

Needless to say, the fact that several spies have been apprehended in recent days is proof of this.

Unfortunately, they couldn't just capture Andrei and force him to hand over this intelligence channel.

Since Andrei refused to admit it, they really had no way to deal with him.

Everyone now knows that only General Andrei can lead the Cambrian Empire to victory. If they were to harm Andrei at this time, the consequences would be enormous.

A combat hero who was featured in newspapers every day not long ago has now been arrested by the Tsar's secret police. What is this?
This is clearly the Tsar persecuting young heroes in the country in order to eliminate dissidents!
If such a scandal were to occur, they would definitely be in big trouble.

Although the special military forces wielded considerable power, in the end, they were nothing more than a black glove for the Tsar.

Andrei had no interest in dealing with these special forces soldiers; let them gossip behind his back if they wanted.

He wasn't a loyal subject in the traditional sense, blindly so. As long as he could win battles and had a large army under his command, what could the Tsar do to him?

In particular, unlike Katyusha, Andrei was not held hostage by Countess Kuragin and his wife. Andrei's mother had died early, and General Constantine was in Petrograd, commanding all the troops in Petrograd.

From this perspective, it's no wonder the Tsar was always worried about the Vorontsov family, since the Vorontsov family now truly demonstrated the strength to carve out their own territory.

He captured a bunch of spies, but failed to capture the Night Demon's Son, whom he had always wanted to capture, which made Andrei somewhat discouraged.

Back at his quarters, he summoned several staff officers, unfurled a map heavily marked with symbols, and asked them:

"Gentlemen, this is the result of our soldiers' patrols over the past period. Generally speaking, there are indeed many small rats left behind by the enemy hiding inside Petrograd."

"But the target we've been searching for—the Child of the Night Demon—has not appeared. So I need you to think carefully about where the Child of the Night Demon might be hiding?"

After saying this, Andrei suddenly realized that some of his staff officers might not know about the Night Demon's Sons, so he quickly gave them a brief overview of the Night Demon's Sons.

After listening to Andrei's introduction, his staff officer also began to ponder deeply.

"...An enemy that can turn into a bird, how are we supposed to find that?"

"This is troublesome. Since they can turn into birds, they must have a strong ability to teleport!"

Some staff officers also curiously inquired about it from Andrei:

"General, you seem to have the ability to identify the Children of the Night Demon? Could you explain to us the principle behind this?"

Andrei really had no way of explaining this to them.

Therefore, he could only say it somewhat vaguely:

"It's complicated to explain. I think you know that I have a group of soldiers who, along with me, received the blessing of the Goddess of Summer, right?"

"These blessed soldiers possess a special ability to sense hostile targets in their surroundings, allowing them to discover hidden enemies through patrols."

Upon hearing this, the group of staff officers suddenly realized what was going on.

So that's how it is! It's a blessing from the gods!
That sounds much more reasonable!
Indeed, to these staff officers, if Andrei claimed that his soldiers had any special abilities, they would definitely think it sounded far-fetched.

But if Andrei said that this was a power chosen by God, they would immediately think that this statement was too reliable!

After all, the four gods worshipped by the Cambrian Empire could truly create chosen ones with superpowers!
Even without considering supermodel units like living saints, there are some chosen ones who possess amazing abilities, such as medical nuns like Yelena.

That said, now that Andrei has a military-level unit under his command, the number of his medical nuns has officially exceeded ten.

Yelena also told Andrei that she was recently applying to the Church of the Goddess of Spring to send more medical nuns to join Andrei's team, or rather, to the battlefield, to form a special medical team.

Although Yelena didn't know if the Church of the Goddess of Spring had such a medical nun team, based on her and Andrei's speculation, the church should have kept some trump cards up their sleeves.

"...General, do you think it's possible that the enemy doesn't actually operate within the city limits at all?"

"They may have carried a radio, or something else, that would allow them to communicate with the Black Hawk spies hidden in the city."

"What if these spies just give the order, turn into birds, fly into the city, and carry out assassination missions?"

Upon hearing this, Andrei's eyes lit up.

That makes sense. The Night Demon's Child really doesn't need to hide in the city!
They can turn into birds and fly wherever they want to go in an hour or two.

If we take a closer look, they are essentially the same as the action team. The action team naturally doesn't need to gather intelligence; they just need to wait for the intelligence team to provide the information and then carry out the mission!

“Very good, you’re right! I’ll go find someone to ask the Black Hawk spy right now!”

Andrei sent someone to inform the special military forces, and then took a few guards and went directly to one of their prisons.

Upon arriving here, Andrei was immediately chilled to the bone by the sight before him.

It has to be said that the interrogations in spy dramas are too conservative, or rather, they have to be made conservative in order to pass censorship.

When Andrei saw the Black Hawk soldiers being subjected to various forms of torture, he couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine.

This feeling is completely different from the feeling of fighting on the battlefield.

The battles on the battlefield are ultimately about killing the enemy and surviving, so although the scenes are bloody, they don't have that kind of chilling feeling.

The bloody scenes before our eyes were purely the result of a group of twisted beings devising torture methods to inflict as much pain as possible on these spies.

It has to be said that the sinister aura emanating from these special forces soldiers is indeed quite eerie.

Spending too much time in such an environment will make anyone become cold and gloomy, and their psychology will gradually become abnormal.

Looking at the naked, tortured, and bloodied mess in front of him, Andrei found it hard to believe that he had been a normal person before.

"So? Did they give me the answers to what I wanted to ask?"

Arriving at a very soundproof quiet room nearby, Andrei directly asked the person in charge of the special military command there.

Upon seeing Andrei, this rather wealthy-looking fellow, who one might mistake for a benevolent and rich man, immediately put on a fawning expression.

"General, please rest assured, we have made a breakthrough and will soon be able to get what you want out of them!"

Hearing that familiar official tone, Andrei couldn't help but roll his eyes.

What breakthrough? To put it bluntly, there's been no progress yet!

Otherwise, if they had actually gotten anything valuable out of them, they would have told themselves already.

Andrei frowned. He really wanted to get some breakthrough information from those spies, but he didn't know anything about interrogation, which was a highly specialized skill.

He certainly didn't think that if those special forces couldn't get these spies to talk, he could just say a few words and they would open up.

Damn it, if only there were a forum at a time like this!

For some reason, Andrei suddenly felt nostalgic for the old Tieba forums.

Although many users on Tieba do post rather abstract comments, it has to be said that Tieba can genuinely solve problems.

As soon as you ask a question, someone will rush over to answer it, including many highly professional people whose answers are full of useful information.

Just then, Andrei suddenly noticed that in the players' chat area, some people seemed to be discussing the issue of interrogating spies.

Xin Liezhi: [Speaking of which, we've arrested quite a few spies recently. I wonder how the special forces interrogate them. Is there any chance to go and take a look?]

Katyusha's Cutest: [I don't know, but it's definitely not just about torture, right? It's said that spies are trained to withstand torture, so getting information out of them seems to rely mainly on psychological manipulation.]

Regarding this statement, Andrei could only remain noncommittal.

Because some forms of torture truly exceed the physiological limits that humans can endure.

Unless one possesses an iron will or some kind of faith, it is impossible to endure pain simply by relying on pain tolerance.

Even those with faith may not be able to withstand severe torture. Back then, there were quite a few traitors in the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics who couldn't withstand the torture and eventually fell into depravity.

But it must be said that the idea of winning hearts and minds is indeed very reasonable.

Once you can break down the spy's psychological defenses, it will be easy to get information out of them.

Often, including when interrogating this group of special forces soldiers, they don't immediately ask for crucial intelligence; they usually ask for the spies' real names first.

What you ask doesn't matter; as long as these spies are willing to reveal the truth, their psychological defenses will be breached.

Later on, when they realized they had already said some things, they felt that saying more wouldn't hurt, and they ended up spilling the beans like beans from a bamboo tube.

Thinking of this, Andrei suddenly had an idea.

He looked at the commander of the special military command in front of him and suggested:

"I think you could say something like this during interrogation: 'Want to guess how we discovered you?'"

"After you finish saying all this, try to steer the answer toward betrayal by your teammates. I believe that once they learn that there is a traitor hidden in the team, their mental defenses will inevitably collapse."

Upon hearing Andrei's suggestion, the commander of the special military command immediately had a bright idea.

"That's right, General, you're absolutely right! I wonder if you could tell me which figure in the Black Hawk Empire betrayed them?"

If Andrei could provide him with a respectable name, he was absolutely confident that he could get these spies to talk!
But the problem is, how would Andrei know the name of the Black Hawk Empire's top spy?
He was able to capture these people by taking advantage of the features of the player's minimap.

"I'm sorry, I can't tell you, because I don't know if anyone within their ranks has betrayed them."

“However, I think you could point in another direction, like telling them that the Alteranias betrayed them behind their backs.”

"Regardless of whether the Altranians can reach into the Black Hawk Empire's intelligence system, we're asking about Altranians' intelligence, not the Black Hawk Empire's own."

"If we ask them to betray information about the Altrians, they probably won't feel that guilty, right?"

At this point, Andrei was somewhat uncertain.

The main reason was that he suddenly remembered that during World War II, the Japanese army and navy had apparently sabotaged each other in this way.

Army spies, when arrested, refused to divulge information about their own people, while naval spies were quick to reveal intelligence.

So theoretically, if you can capture just one army or navy spy, they will reveal all the intelligence.

It's unlikely that Black Hawk Empire spies would risk their lives to keep the Altranians' secrets. After all, for them, betraying the Altranians isn't really betraying their own people; it's just betraying an ally. Altrania's current status is practically that of a vassal state of Black Hawk Empire, so why would they risk their lives for their vassal?
Not long after, the supervisor excitedly approached Andrei and said:
"That's amazing, General Vorontsov, you're simply a god!"

"I reorganized the interrogation process according to your ideas, and they immediately gave me all the information you wanted!"

Hearing this, Andrei breathed a sigh of relief.

He knew exactly why Black Hawk spies would risk their lives to keep secrets for the Altrians.

After obtaining the enemy's intelligence channels, Andrei left.

The rest of the interrogation was none of his business, and he didn't care what the special forces were going to ask those spies anyway, since he had just caught them on a whim.

In the end, he did not expect to accumulate merit by catching spies, because he knew that he could not become a general by catching spies.

Needless to say, the current head of the special military command only holds the rank of major general.

This shows that in the intelligence system, the prospects for promotion are truly limited.

To summarize briefly, this is how the enemy transmits intelligence:

They have spies buying chickens at the market, and while buying the chickens, they pass on the assassination list and information to the chicken vendors.

Then, when the chicken vendors are buying chickens, they will pass the information on to the chicken farmers.

Following this, it was reasonable for these Night Demon Sons, who usually disguised themselves as a flock of birds, to steal chicken feed, and no one would notice anything amiss.

When they steal feed, they also take the intelligence hidden in the feed, and then carry out their operations based on the information.

Therefore, Andrei immediately cooperated with the special forces, who quickly arrested the spies along this line and passed on the false intelligence.

The false intelligence claimed that the newly promoted Lieutenant General Vorontsov was planning to meet his lover at a tower on the outskirts of the city, which would present an excellent opportunity for assassination.

Obviously, unless he was truly terrified of being killed, how could a normal general bring a large number of guards when he went out to meet his lover?
Moreover, even if Andrei did bring guards out for a date, a tower with a wide field of vision and no easy hiding place is simply the best place for sniping.

Even if they can't snipe, they can fly directly to the tower and carry out a kill.

All they need to do is fly to the top of the tower as fast as they can, kill the general who is on a date, and then fly away quickly.

By the time the guards on duty around the tower heard the commotion and rushed up, it was already too late.

Upon receiving this intelligence, the Son of Night Demon immediately sent people disguised as birds to scout the location, and sure enough, they found Andre on the tower.

"Great! The intelligence is accurate. This time, we might be able to take down that star general of the Cambrian Empire!"

After flying into the distant dense forest, the Night Demon's Son transformed back and whispered to the other birds on the treetops.

The other birds nodded in agreement, their eyes sparkling with eager anticipation.

If we were to ask which Cambrian general Alternia hated the most, without a doubt, it would be Andre.

You should know that they were originally going to wage a war of aggression, and they advanced triumphantly all the way until Andrei arrived on the battlefield with reinforcements.

Although Andrei only brought one division, that one division displayed astonishing combat power.

This single division not only decimated a series of their main forces, but also captured their most important city in the east, and then seized their airships to bomb their capital.

They were so close! If the Black Hawk Empire's attack hadn't been so effective, their invasion would have turned into a battle to defend the capital!

The thought of such humiliation filled all the Altrians with both fear and hatred for Andrei, especially the right wing within Altriana, who felt that Andrei had interrupted the Altrians' process of resurgence!

"Great, what's our next move? Should we just snipe them?"

Another bird flew down and instantly transformed into a sniper in a ghillie suit, patting the rifle in his hand and saying...

Although he can't compare to that fierce guy in China who's known as the White Death, he's definitely one of the best snipers in terms of marksmanship.

Given a chance, he can guarantee a hit rate of over 90% within a 500-meter range!

"I don't know, let's see if the general will choose to go to the tower to enjoy the view, or simply have his meal in the restaurant inside the tower."

"You stay here and prepare. If he wants to admire the scenery, just snipe him. If he doesn't show himself before dark, then we'll launch a full-scale attack on the tower!"

After saying this, the Night Demon's Sons transformed back into a flock of birds and quietly remained in the nearby woods to wait.

Meanwhile, Andrei, sitting alone in the center of the tower, dressed in an elegant gown and holding a bouquet of flowers, stared intently at the mini-map.

Clearly, the Night Demon's Children hadn't kept a great distance; they were only about 500 meters away, in an orchard not far away.

Andrei silently counted the red dots representing the children of the night demons. He found a total of 16 red dots in this forest.

"Speaking of which... did they send out their entire force this time?"

Andrei muttered to himself, somewhat unsure of the exact number of the Night Demon's Children.

However, he felt that there probably weren't many special forces units like this.

Especially before this, they attempted a direct raid on the army headquarters, but suffered considerable losses in the process.

"Forget it, let's take them down one by one. Tell the players to get in position as soon as possible!"

After saying this, Andrei immediately gave the players a quest and marked the hidden location of the Night Demon's Son on the map.

The players who had been assigned to the action group by Andrei and were on standby immediately appeared at the nearby respawn point as quickly as possible.

It's unclear whether Andrei's increased authority was due to a promotion in rank or some other reason.

The process for players to respawn at a different respawn point has changed.

Previously, players had to die to respawn at another respawn point, so many players even committed suicide to try and grab a respawn point.

Now, players only need to pay merit points equivalent to resurrection, without needing to perform any additional operations or engage in any suicide-like behavior, and they can appear at other resurrection points as if they were teleporting.

This upgrade pleased Andrei greatly; otherwise, he would have had to figure out how to deal with the suicide soldier entities.

On the battlefield, it's one thing, but it's quite normal for soldiers to be unable to withstand the pressure and ultimately choose to take their own lives.

Alternatively, their bodies could be packaged and included in the list of fallen soldiers, which would be easy to do.

But if someone were to suddenly discover a large group of soldiers committing mass suicide in a house in Petrograd, the situation would become a huge mess!
The soldier who had just respawned found himself in a public toilet as soon as he came out of the respawn point!
Rice Noodle Roll Cat: [Holy crap, why is our respawn point becoming more and more abstract?]

The Celestial Being Who Knows Me: [Oh no, did I just crawl out from the women's restroom? I'm about to be refined into a postgraduate recommendation pill!]

Brother Hao Nan: [Don't worry, bro. Don't forget you're a catgirl now, and a round-headed, octogenarian type at that!]

Seeing the players' chat, Andrei's expression became slightly awkward; he didn't want to set up such a respawn point for the players.

But there was nothing he could do. Apart from his own tower, the nearest respawn point he could set up was the toilet near the orchard.

Otherwise, there really aren't any other buildings around here, and he can't just go to the orchard on purpose, wouldn't that alert the enemy?

Because there were no other buildings here, the orchard had already been scouted by the Night Demon's Son, and the toilet, which could only accommodate two people, didn't seem like it could hide half a company inside.

Because of this, the Night Demon's Son, who was busy and focused on Andrei's side, did not notice at all:
A large group of soldiers suddenly emerged from the small latrines and were rushing into the orchard at an extremely fast speed!

Brother Hao Nan: [Brothers, keep a close eye on things. Our enemy this time can turn into a bird, so he shouldn't be easy to find!]

Human Empire Poland: [Why worry about all that? Just shoot all the birds in this area!]

Bai Zhengning: [Kill! Not just birds, shoot down everything living thing you see!]

Hearing the commotion, the owner of the orchard hurriedly rode over and immediately saw a group of fully armed and strange-looking soldiers.

His hands trembled slightly, but he still held the shotgun and, mustering his courage, asked the soldiers:

"Hey, what are you doing? This is my orchard, you're invading my territory!"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a player pulled out a Special Military Unit identification card, then, with an extremely arrogant expression, said:
"Special Military Command is handling the case; bystanders, please stay away!"

I wonder where this player got the ID from. Maybe they used a clever trick to steal it when they handed over the captured spies to the Special Administrative Region.

Anyway, as soon as the certificate was presented, the orchard owner, who had been indignant, immediately wilted.

If it were just a bunch of rabble soldiers, he would dare to put up a fight against them, after all, he was a lord.

Although the title of lord is only the lowest rank of noble in the Cambrian Empire's aristocratic system, it is roughly similar to that of knights in other places.

But no matter what, nobles are nobles, and these soldiers shouldn't dare to kill nobles indiscriminately.

But the special military is different. What if these people try to pin a accusation on him, saying that he is colluding with the enemy?
Since the front headquarters was attacked by the enemy some time ago, the entire city of Petrograd has been in complete turmoil.

Anyway, no one knows where the special military forces arrested these people from. Many of them were convicted of treason and executed!
Many more were arrested and sentenced to exile in Siberia, which can only be described as extremely cruel.

Honestly, in this world, most Cambrian people would rather be sentenced to death than be exiled to Siberia.

Because our neighbors in Siberia are just too fierce!

The Cambrian Empire in this world did not expand its sphere of influence to such a large extent; on the contrary, their influence ended in Siberia.

Now that the war has progressed to this point, they even have to guard against a counter-invasion from the Northern Qing Empire!

This is no joke. The Northern Qing Empire previously launched a northern expedition, which forced the Cambrian Empire to cede large tracts of permafrost.

The Trans-Siberian Railway's transport capacity was not very strong to begin with, making it difficult for them to support large-scale operations in the Far East, let alone send the Titan Legion and mechanized forces there.

Ordinary infantry units are simply outmatched when they encounter the Eight Banners of the Immortals, unparalleled warriors who can flip over combat mechs with their bare hands, or even Xing Tian who can teleport directly behind them to behead their commanders.

Once you fall into the hands of those abstract things, you can only say that death isn't actually that painful.

Seeing this, the unfortunate lord could only quickly welcome the group in and then run outside as fast as he could.

He didn't know if his orchard could be saved, but he didn't care about such a small problem now.

Seeing the special forces' long guns and short cannons, and even a strange mech following behind, he knew that a big battle was bound to happen once they went in!

He's now terrified of getting himself involved, fearing that if he's not careful, the people inside will start fighting and he'll end up with blood all over his face!

However, the commotion caused by the players naturally made the Night Demon Child vaguely realize that something was wrong.

"No, we were discovered!"

When the Night Demon's Sons saw the group rushing towards them, they instantly realized that they had been betrayed by spies from the Black Hawk Empire!
The general in the tower was just bait; he didn't even bother to show himself. After going up the tower, he disappeared without a trace.

Immediately afterwards, the soldiers charged directly towards their hiding place. It was absolutely impossible that there wasn't a traitor who betrayed them!
"Don't panic, stay calm, they shouldn't be able to find us!"

"Just hide in the tree and try to conceal yourself as much as possible. I don't believe they can find all the birds in this orchard!"

After speaking, the captain, who was hiding in the treetop, transformed back into a bird as quickly as possible and disappeared inside.

They were waiting for an opportunity, until these guys scared all the birds in the garden into taking flight, so they could take advantage of that and blend into the flock.

Once they were in the sky, they could easily escape.

Sure enough, as soon as the players made such a big commotion, large flocks of birds flew out of the forest.

The Night Demon's Children watched this scene nervously, waiting for the flocks of birds around them to take flight, trying to avoid anything out of place.

But at that moment, one of the Night Demon's children suddenly let out a short scream and then fell to the ground without a sound.

Upon witnessing this scene, the other Night Demon Children were horrified, completely bewildered as to what had happened to their companion.

Soon, two more Night Demon Sons inexplicably fell to the ground, which happened extremely suddenly.

It was like sudden death; they were still hiding in the treetops when they suddenly died.

This is a monk!

The enemy's spellcaster has made his move!

In that instant, all the Night Demon's Children realized this.

It was clear that a sorcerer was cursing them, which is why their companion died silently.

Without any hesitation, the group of Night Demon Sons seized the opportunity to suddenly take flight, attempting to quickly escape this dangerous place.

But just then, another Night Demon Child fell from the sky halfway through its flight.

An airplane suddenly flew by. This biplane bomber was not flying very fast; it just kept circling over the orchard.

Meanwhile, players with psionic abilities stood on the wings, continuously casting Blood Boil on the red targets that appeared on the minimap!
"The enemy's mage is in the sky!"

Realizing they couldn't stay in the sky any longer, the Night Demon's Children quickly swooped down to the ground and transformed into human form at top speed.

They had previously assumed the enemy's mage was on land, thinking that flying would solve everything.

But since the enemy's mage could stand on such a flying machine and fly in the air, they certainly couldn't risk going up into the sky anymore.

Otherwise, how could they possibly compete with those aircraft in terms of speed? Wouldn't that just be asking to be hunted down by the enemy?
In comparison, perhaps the special forces agents on the ground are not so good at fighting, and they were able to break through the encirclement!

Until this point, the Night Demon Children were unaware that the people rushing towards them from afar were players.

Because of their special status, and because they suspected a spy had betrayed them, they thought the Special Military Command had sent people to arrest them.

Otherwise, how could the special forces, having extracted intelligence from the traitor, possibly hand over the credit to someone else?

As soon as they landed, these skilled Night Demon Sons immediately began sniping at the players.

boom!boom!
With several gunshots, the two players at the front were shot in the head and died before they even had a chance to fight back.

Almost at the same time, a Night Demon Child who had just regained his human form also had his head inexplicably explode.

Immediately afterward, they heard a rather loud gunshot coming from afar.
