Fangxian Heretical Path

Chapter 243 The Ability to Predict Fortune and Misfortune

Chapter 243 The Ability to Predict Fortune and Misfortune
I reviewed it repeatedly.

Fang Shu discovered that having cultivated the Six Fiends within him, his mind had indeed become much sharper, and this feeling was undeniable.

According to the book of the Seven Emotions and Six Desires, this situation is the emergence of his inner vision. After experiencing hardships, he has gained the ability to foresee the future, like a cicada sensing the autumn wind before it blows or a wise man not standing under a dangerous wall.

This kind of intuition, though not as powerful and accurate as divination and easily overlooked, will still generate a sense of awareness in the hearts of the immortals whenever they encounter living people, life and death, crises, or schemes, as long as their minds are clear and they are not blinded by greed. This serves as a reminder to avoid misfortune and seek good fortune.

Fang Shu couldn't hold back any longer and immediately stood up.

He paced back and forth on the altar, his heart filled with boundless joy:
"I never expected that cultivating the Six Desires Yin Sha Technique would bring such benefits."

In an instant, he felt a surge of gratitude towards his cheap master, Long Gu.

If the other party had not bestowed such a method upon him, how could he have cultivated this ability of mysterious perception!

With this insight, whether it's cultivation, combat, or treasure hunting, he won't be able to rival those immortals skilled in divination and numerology, but he will certainly have the ability to avoid being schemed against and to seize opportunities. This will prevent him from falling into a trap like a headless fly, completely bewildered.

In his exhilaration, Fang Shu suddenly thought of something else.

He calmed his mind, entered a meditative state, and tried to grasp that subtle, unseen feeling, attempting to actively judge future fortunes and misfortunes.

First, he sensed whether participating in the Lushan Secret Realm a year later would be a good or bad event, and then he sensed how his master, the Dragon Maiden, would treat him with kindness or evil...

Unfortunately, as the nameless book says, the mysterious connection he has cultivated is mainly a passive companionship. He is not a celestial being skilled in divination and cannot actively predict fortune or misfortune.

If you insist on forcibly measuring and sensing, you will become obsessed and what you get will be vague and chaotic. Even if a real feeling arises, it is not credible and is most likely an illusion or a mental demon.

Realizing this, Fang Shu thought to himself that it was a pity, but he wasn't too disappointed.

After all, this kind of divination and numerology is the most mysterious of the nine disciplines of immortal studies, which places great emphasis on spirituality. To date, he has never even met any immortals of this discipline.

Fang Shu had only heard that all the major immortal sects in the world must have kept immortals who had studied this subject.

However, when one is below the Foundation Establishment stage, the immortals of this category will not easily reveal themselves, because such ability to foresee the secrets of heaven and earth comes with its own price and is extremely easy to suffer backlash, or even divine punishment.

Only after reaching the Foundation Establishment stage, when the immortals of the Divination and Numerology discipline can hide within the spiritual veins, each possessing profound and unpredictable cultivation, and can transfer the cost to their bodies, will they reveal their skills to the outside world.

It is already extremely rare for Fang Shu to be able to obtain even a little bit of the ability of mysterious perception.

He thought to himself, "After all, I am not a person of this path. Even my so-called comprehension is mainly due to the Dao talisman. Unlike those true geniuses in the world, I am only of average appearance."

Having let go of this obsession, the heavy fog that had just risen in his heart immediately dissipated, and he suddenly felt his mind clear and his thoughts sharp.

For a moment, the feeling of coincidence from before resurfaced in Fang Shu's mind.

He sat down cross-legged again, calmed his mind, and began to silently sort out all the malevolent energy he had accumulated so far.

The first evil spirit he refined was transformed from the resentment of the corpse of the Hu family patriarch, belonging to the "unfulfilled desires" among the six desires of evil spirits;
The second type of evil spirit, which is harvested from the senior sister Fang Lu, can arouse love and promote fertility, and is used to promote the reproduction of living beings. It belongs to the category of "love evil spirit" and "love separation evil spirit".
The third evil spirit, the Plague and Poisonous Evil Spirit, was purchased at the Fudang Mountain auction. It was collected from a thousand-year-old rotten grain and contains plague and poisonous miasma. It belongs to the "Disease Evil Spirit".

The fourth type of evil spirit is the "Green Grass Evil Spirit," a medium-level evil spirit passed down through the Tian family. It is good at nourishing life and is similar to the "Peach Blossom Evil Spirit," belonging to the category of "Life-Giving Evil Spirit."
The fifth evil spirit is formed from the old evil spirit of Dai Kuan's corpse. It is nurtured by the corpse's energy and contains death energy, belonging to the "death evil spirit" category.

As for the sixth evil spirit, it was formed by combining the evil spirit of snake scales and the foul energy of the dragon vein given by the Dragon Maiden Immortal. The former can be barely considered as an "old evil spirit", while the latter can be classified as a "resentful evil spirit".

These six kinds of evil energy perfectly encompass the seven sufferings of life: birth, old age, sickness, death, encountering those you hate, separation from those you love, and not getting what you want. They are in accordance with the teachings of the Seven Emotions and Six Desires.

Suddenly, Fang Shu's eyes narrowed slightly, his thoughts falling on yet another kind of suffering mentioned in the Seven Emotions and Six Desires Daoist teachings.

He thought to himself:
"According to the booklet, in addition to these seven sufferings, there is an eighth suffering, which together are called the 'Eight Sufferings of Life,' which are the eight fundamental pains that people inevitably experience in the cycle of reincarnation." The last suffering mentioned in the book is called "The Blazing of the Five Aggregates."

Fang Shu had heard about this eighth suffering before.

Among many classic texts, one interpretation is that the Five Aggregates are the Five Spheres. The Five Aggregates come together to form the body, burning like a raging fire, and the first seven sufferings of life arise from this.

It is also said that it refers to the state of physical and mental suffering caused by the five things that obscure one's true nature: form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness.

However, in the book passed down by the Dragon Maiden Immortal Family, besides these two versions, there is a third version.

The book says that "five" refers to the five elements, and "yin chi" means yin and yang. These four characters should be broken down in this way. Therefore, the eighth suffering refers to the yin and yang and the five elements in the universe, which are constantly changing and are the suffering of reincarnation.

Fang Shu pondered.

He found that the first half of the statement in the nameless book was a bit far-fetched, as if it were forced to fit the concept of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements. However, unexpectedly, its final point was the word "reincarnation," which was in line with the original meaning of the eight sufferings of life in various classics.

Fang Shu thought to himself, "This is quite strange. Could it be the method of enlightenment that the ancients spoke of, where the scriptures interpret me and I interpret the scriptures?"

Soon, his thoughts began to wander again.

The five yin elements are in full bloom, representing the five elements and yin and yang.

Now that he has cultivated the seven sufferings of life in the process of condensing evil, will his next process of refining qi be to condense the five flavors of qi into the five internal organs based on the suffering of the final "five yin blazing"?

Thinking it over, Fang Shu realized that this possibility, or rather, its feasibility, was extremely high!

Although he had not yet obtained the direct lineage of the Five Organs Temple's Qi Refining Method, he knew the name of the Qi Refining Method passed down within the sect, which happened to be called "Five Organs Qi Refining Method".

This Qi Refining Technique is renowned throughout the entire Youqiong Kingdom, surpassing even the Qi Refining Techniques of the other four sects, and is of paramount importance in the Five Organs Temple's lineage.

According to rumors within the sect, to cultivate this Qi Refining Method, the five types of Qi gathered by the immortals should ideally belong to the five elements, so as to obtain a complete set of the five elements.

In this way, immortals can establish a solid foundation, and even if they only cultivate five kinds of low-grade qi, the combined qi level of their bodies can be comparable to high-grade qi, increasing the probability of foundation building.

If one possesses five medium or high-grade types of Qi, then the Qi on one's body can be called "Five Elements True Qi," and its quality will rival the ancient concept of Heavenly Qi, which may even lead to the formation of a true immortal!
Fang Shu couldn't help but feel a longing when he thought about these things.

This method is beyond the reach of ordinary disciples in the temple, and even some inner disciples find it difficult to cultivate.

However, he was different. As an inner disciple of the Five Internal Organs Temple, he would naturally be taught this method.

Moreover, the spiritual roots he cultivated belonged to Yin and Yang respectively, and his body did not contain the five elements. Therefore, he did not have the worry of imbalance of the five elements. When harvesting the five elements' energy, he did not need to take medicine to expel the foreign substances. Compared with those spiritual roots that were tainted by the five elements, it was much simpler.

However, from the six desires and yin evil, to the seven emotions and six desires, and then to the five yin blazing and the five internal organs refining qi... this kind of cultivation path can be described as progressive, orderly, and steady.

Fang Shushi found it hard to believe that such a process was truly just a coincidence, that he was simply lucky to have stumbled upon it.

He sat cross-legged on the altar, silently opened his eyes, and sighed inwardly, "Dragon Master, what is your intention...?"
