Chapter 8 Night Battle at Dragon Drum Beach
Located on the west coast of Hong Kong Island, Lung Kwu Beach leads directly into Sham Shing Bay. It has historically been an important smuggling route between Hong Kong and Guangdong. The presence of power plants and landfills has polluted the waters, resulting in very few fishermen venturing out.

During the day, villagers from the surrounding Tuen Mun area come to the beach to go beachcombing, fly kites, and fish.

As night falls, smuggling boats come and go, rushing down the Pearl River Estuary and Shenzhen Bay. Sometimes, the sound of their diesel engines can even drown out the waves.

Every now and then, there are incidents of floating corpses being caught and body bags being found. The residents have become so accustomed to it that it no longer even makes headlines in the newspapers.

Some of the floating corpses were from Hong Kong, some from Shenzhen, and some were even from Guangdong. They drifted downstream along the Pearl River.

When Lin Tiansheng arrived at the scene, he found that the landing line on the beach was 100 meters long, with more than a dozen suitable places to go ashore.

Reluctantly abandoning the plan to ambush the enemy while they were crossing the river, he ordered his men to evacuate from the beach and remain in the vehicles on the highway to await orders.

He then hid behind the rocks with Ma Delong to conduct close reconnaissance. When they saw a suspicious target come ashore, they would put the person on the road and then shoot them.

After all, once the bandits landed, they would definitely need to take a car. The distance between the coastline and the highway was fifty meters, enough time for the men to catch their target.

However, setting up an ambush would turn into a direct confrontation, only guaranteeing surprise and a slight advantage.

It was past ten o'clock at night.

The sound of the waves echoed across the sea, and the thick, salty air aggravated Zhang Jinrong's rhinitis, causing him to sneeze repeatedly while hiding in the car.

He Li, Liu Yida, and Gao Zicong all looked tired and yawned frequently. Thanks to his rhinitis, Zhang Jinrong, a drunkard, was full of energy and stared at the sea.

Suddenly, a fishing light appeared out of nowhere.

Zhang Jinrong quickly raised his elbow and nudged Chen Li in the passenger seat, saying sternly, "They're here!"

Meanwhile, Lin Tiansheng, hiding behind the reef, focused intently on the fishing boat.

As the fishing boat gradually approached the shore, two silver-gray vans stopped by the roadside, and four young men of different builds wearing T-shirts got out.

The plainclothes police car was parked in the woods, about thirty meters away from the van. After confirming that the contact had not noticed anything amiss, Zhang Jinrong picked up the walkie-talkie and whispered, "Brother Sheng, bait in place, move in from fifty meters to the left."

Lin Tiansheng carefully observed the surroundings to ensure they wouldn't be discovered, then picked up the walkie-talkie: "Big fish's on the hook, Lao Ma, follow me, get ready to pull the rod."

"receive."

Under the pitch-black night, the two hurriedly retreated, leaving the Big Circle Gang alone.

Ko Chen-hsiung, carrying an incandescent light bulb, stepped off the fishing boat and asked the approaching henchman, "No tail, right?"

The henchman shook his head: "The whole way has been clean, I guarantee there won't be any tails."

"Ah."

"The case from last year is finished. The police are keeping a close eye on us, so be careful." Ko Chun-hsiung, wearing a thick cotton coat and a gold necklace, was short in stature and handed a lantern to his henchman.

The henchman said with a fawning smile, "Brother Xiong, it's just a few people. Leave the next one to me."

If it weren't for Li Xudong's cautious nature and his preference to work only with Ko Chen-hsiung, Ko Chen-hsiung would have been too lazy to get involved. But Li Xudong was involved in big cases and made a lot of money, so even Ko Chen-hsiung, as a big shot, sometimes had to give him some face.

However, before Ko Chen-hsiung could answer, a tall, imposing figure stepped out of the cabin and slapped one of the henchmen across the face, yelling, "Fuck your mother!"

"Which piece of trash are you? Have you ever fired a gun? How dare you point fingers at me?"

The henchman's vision went black, and he stumbled back several steps, barely managing to regain his footing before the lamp in his hand fell into the sea.

Li Xudong, carrying a green satchel, led five brothers ashore and gave him a cold look. Ke Zhenxiong was furious, but he could only suppress it and said, "Lead the way, let's go back to our hideout."

The remaining three henchmen, feeling a chill, obediently led the way. As the group crossed the beach and disappeared into the bushes, Lin Tiansheng's heart tightened. The plan was officially a success when the eleven men emerged from the woods and gathered beside two vans on the roadside.

He hid behind a tree, activated the scope, raised his M16, and shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Get to work!"

A red dot pierced the darkness, illuminating the back of a bandit.

"chug."

Two swift shots brought the bandit down instantly. Gunfire erupted, and on the dark beach, a palpable sense of murderous intent surged.

"There's a gunman!"

"Damn it, Ah Hui is dead."

The remaining ten criminals immediately turned into frightened birds, scrambling to find cover.

But what followed was a barrage of infrared lasers, weaving together to form a net, rapidly firing around the van.

With the aid of the red dot sight, the Major Crimes Unit's accuracy increased significantly, and gunshots rang out continuously. The firepower of the six men temporarily overwhelmed that of more than a dozen criminals.

"Da da da."

"Da da da."

Two more gangsters from the Big Circle Gang were shot in the chaos.

Lin Tiansheng shouted the order: "Don't get close, spread out your guns and maintain distance."

Li Xudong didn't see anyone, but he was furious to find three of his brothers missing. He recognized the attackers by the familiar gunshots, gripped a grenade, and cursed, "Damn it!"

"You damn cop!"

boom!
boom!
Several grenades landed in the jungle, exploding and sending up clouds of dust.

With limited ammunition, the police's firepower was indeed cut off. The remaining eight bandits also took out weapons from their bags, held AK47s, pulled the triggers, and swept into the dense forest.

Da da da.

Zhang Jinrong, Ma Delong, and He Li all fell to the ground. Gao Zicong, shot in the leg, let out a scream: "Ah!"

More firepower was immediately unleashed.

Fortunately, the police officers were spread out, and the AK47s were not very accurate. The loud gunfire mostly hit the leaves.

A red dot landed on Li Xudong's chest, startling Ke Zhenxiong so much that his whole body went cold. He opened his mouth to warn him, but a bullet shot out from the dense forest. Thud, it pierced through his chest and spurted out a stream of blood.

"Dadong!"

Ko Chen-hsiung's eyes were filled with astonishment and fear.

One of the top ten most wanted criminals was shot and killed before he even saw the police.

"Brother Dong."

The remaining four thugs cried out in alarm.

"Go, go, go quickly."

Having lost his strongest henchman, Ko Chen-hsiung didn't hesitate. He got up and fled into the mountains. None of the bandits present dared to get into the car; they all turned around and followed, disappearing into the forest.

Seeing that he had succeeded with his first shot, Lin Tiansheng lowered the muzzle of his gun, unwilling to stop there. He decisively ordered, "Three people in a group, one on the left and one on the right, search for and pursue the enemy!"

Ho Lap-tao: "Inspector Lam, Ah Chung has been shot."

"Tell him to call the white car himself. Old Ma and I will work as a pair. Ah Rong, you take two shrimp soldiers." Lin Tiansheng improvised, turned on the aiming device, and took the lead in chasing ahead.

Through the battle just now, he had identified the ringleader. Besides the target already killed, there was another leader, and whether it was "Snake B" or Li Xudong, they had to be brought down.

Whether the remaining scattered bandits live or die does not affect the outcome.

Let Ah Rong and the others do whatever they want.
