Chapter 189: The International Alchemy Conference

Chapter 189: The International Alchemy Conference
Professor Terra was grading papers. Her brow furrowed for a moment, then she closed her eyes to rest before continuing to look at the papers.

When Sheen entered, the professor didn't seem to be in a good mood either, but his condition soon improved:

"You've come, child. It seems your magic shop isn't too bad?"

Professor Terra is rigorous, but she always encourages wizards to explore the mysteries of alchemy.

A wizard who cannot sense the call of this vast and mysterious realm is not a qualified alchemist.

So even though the items in the shop weren't particularly profound, the ingenious ideas they contained were enough to make the professor realize they were interesting.

Sheehan was slightly surprised; he thought the professor wouldn't pay attention to such trivial matters.

Moreover, the Trick Shop was also a...wonderful accident; Sheen never expected that his casual alchemy project would sell so well.

"Professor, I succeeded."

Sheen gathered his thoughts and placed a cookie that was making a "slurping" sound on the table.

He noticed the professor's serious gaze, and then began his explanation:
"I used a magical ritual I created to transfer magical abilities of magical creatures into the wizard's body."

The moment the first sentence was uttered, Professor Terra jumped to her feet, while the senior wizards outside the door were completely dumbfounded.

"What is a self-created ritual? And what is the transfer of magical abilities of magical creatures within a wizard's body?"

What is this guy talking about?"

The Ravenclaw wizard was dumbfounded.

"Even if we're learning the same kind of alchemy... I still won't understand."

The Gryffindor beside him stared blankly as he spoke.

"I think……"

The last male wizard spoke, and the two men turned their gazes to him.

"This is not in English!"

His tone was firm.

The explanation in the classroom continued:
"Although there are still many flaws. The shapeshifter cannot stay conscious, the duration is only one minute, and the production time is too long... Most importantly, if the user cannot look forward to their upcoming transformation and firmly believe that they are a cat lizard, the transformation is likely to fail."

Sheen paused slightly, then continued,

"Although I made this cookie, its reproducibility remains questionable. Even the creator cannot explain the full effect of each step; the only thing I'm certain of is that the wizard's will played a decisive role..."

But the mystical nature of magic always makes up for this; perhaps wizards don't need to know everything.

"Well, to put it simply, once a wizard has a certain grasp of the ritual, all they need to do is believe, and leave the rest to magic."

...Just like a magic potion, Sheen felt that the little wizard who successfully brewed it had pulled off a miracle.

Unfortunately, magic is the miracle of wizards transforming the world.

Inside the alchemy classroom, Sheen recounted his entire alchemical process in one breath, the only thing omitted being the construction of his system in the realm of alchemical will.

The place was now completely silent, and the senior wizards eavesdropping outside could no longer understand what was going on.

What does it mean to create something but not necessarily replicate it? What does it mean to be inexplicable but usable? And what about belief, magic...?

I have absolutely no idea what this wizard is talking about...

"Today's auditorium dinner will feature Wellington steak."

So said the Ravenclaw wizard.

“Oh, I think we should talk about this. I also think beef stew with mushrooms is delicious.” The Gryffindor wizard and the two Ravenclaws walked away arm in arm.

Professor Terra glanced intently at the doorway, then took a deep breath.

"You yourself... of course it was yourself... it took you more than a month? Of course, it's not like I don't know how to keep track of time... I created my own ritual... to complete the leap from wizard to magical creature..."

Professor Terra said a lot of nonsensical things, and the more she talked, the brighter her eyes became.

She knew that an alchemist would always encounter some outstanding young wizards in their lifetime. But she had encountered far more than just one outstanding young wizard…

“Sheen Green, my disciple, you will surpass Nick Lemaître.”

Professor Terra's gaze was intense, filled with absolute certainty.

Sheen was startled and shook his head, not daring to make such a boast.

"Humility is certainly a good quality, but excessive humility..."

Professor Terra shook her head with a smile, then her expression turned strange.
"My disciple, is that really what you think?"

Sheen nodded.

"Merlin—I have seen too many ignorant wizards who are unaware of their own ignorance, and too many arrogant fools who are utterly incompetent..."

Professor Terra had never felt so good.

She took out a card that looked luxurious yet understated and handed it to Sheehan:

"I originally thought that only Headmaster Dumbledore and I would be attending the Ulada International Alchemy Conference, but now there is another wizard present, right?"

Before that, you need to expand the boundaries of Fantastic Beast Transforming Cookies as much as possible. If there are Cat Lizard Cookies, then there must be other Fantastic Beast Cookies... If you need ingredients or have any questions, you can use 'it' to find me.

Before Sheen could put away the invitation, another small sheet of white paper appeared in his palm.

"This is the creation that won me the Gold Medal for Pioneering Contribution at the last International Alchemy Congress. You will understand its effectiveness."

Oh, and remember to name this landmark alchemical creation, my disciple.

Learning to cherish one's own honor is equally important.

Professor Terra left Sheen's notes and cat slang cookies, then gently ushered Sheen out of the classroom, seemingly to study the cat slang cookies.

With a wave of his hand, Shinn sent Nimbus 2000 flying in through the window. He mounted the broom and disappeared into the darkness.

Only then did he have time to check the invitation.

[To: Sheehan Green, an outstanding alchemist]

Will we take another step forward on the path of truth, or will we stumble and fall into the mud of mediocrity?
The Urada International Alchemy Congress awaits the arrival of a new era.

There were no extra descriptions, only a subtle hint, which seemed to resemble the boasting of some club at Hogwarts.

But when his own name suddenly appeared on the letter, Sheen realized that alchemists had always possessed profound magical powers.

Inside the Hope Hut.

The little fireplace had already moved to Sheen's feet, and Sheen was thinking about the magical creatures he could choose from in the future.

The difficulty in transforming into different magical creatures lies solely in whether Sheen has sufficient knowledge of them, so he should ideally choose some magical creatures that he can find at Hogwarts.

The shorthand quill hovered above the notebook, recording Sheen's thoughts:

[Cerberus, fire dragon, basilisk... Hmm, in second year, the basilisk probably wouldn't have been a match for me...]
