Chapter 195: Different Paths, Same Destination
Chapter 195: Different Paths, Same Destination
The Quidditch match was held as scheduled.
The following afternoon, Sheehan sat in the stands, Justin beside him. Hermione, Ron, and Neville waited outside the locker room to wish Harry good luck.
Harry knew that they were actually secretly worried that they would never see him come back alive.
He looked towards the stands, and although his view was obstructed, he could still seem to see Sheen looking down on everything.
Sheen's magical abilities had long surpassed their imagination, and subconsciously everyone felt that he was more than capable of dealing with adult wizards.
Only by thinking this way can Harry find some comfort.
Harry put on his Quidditch robes, picked up his Nimbus 2000, and completely ignored Wood's encouraging words.
Meanwhile, Ron, Neville, and Hermione separated in the stands, looking somber and worried, and all of them had brought their wands to the arena.
During the discussion, no one felt anything too terrible, but now that they were separated and each had to deal with a different area, fear suddenly surged up.
What if the person casting the curse is insane? What if they recklessly unleash a terrible curse upon them?
Everyone in Hope Hut had been secretly practicing the Curse of Immediate Stop.
Their goal was to prevent the unknown enemy from casting a spell and to find him, so a spell-stopping device with strong defensive capabilities became their first choice.
"Remember, don't forget, it's Finite."
Hermione whispered as Ron tucked his wand into his sleeve.
"I know,"
Ron, unusually, agreed with Hermione's point of view; at this moment, he was trembling with nervousness.
"Stop nagging."
In the locker room, Wood pulled Harry aside.
“I’m not trying to put pressure on you, Potter, but we need to catch the Snitch as quickly as possible today, more than ever. We need to finish this quickly and not give Snape any time to show too much favoritism towards Hufflepuff.”
"All the students are out!"
Fred Weasley peered into the door and said,
"Even—good heavens—Dumbledore is here to watch the game!"
Harry's heart skipped a beat.
It wasn't just him who was thrown into turmoil, but also everyone in the stands.
"Thank goodness—excuse me, please let me through—"
Ron ran around the stands, his eyes fixed on Sheen—there were still some empty seats around.
"Dumbledore is here—"
"It's Headmaster Dumbledore—"
He and Hermione arrived together and said the same things.
Hermione didn't let Ron speak, and spoke herself:
"That guy definitely wouldn't dare to reveal himself, it seems the 'First Round Table Project' will have to be put on hold."
Her face remained a mixture of excitement, fear, anticipation, and relief, which finally culminated in a complex sigh.
"I wonder when he'll strike next..."
Upon hearing this, even the excited Ron fell silent.
"No matter what, we'll be ready and waiting for him, right?"
Justin said with a smile.
Everyone looked at him, and then at Sheen, who was calmly enjoying his pudding. They immediately calmed down and nodded vigorously.
After the crisis subsided, everyone settled down to watch the Quidditch match.
"The game has begun! The biggest highlight of this game is still Gryffindor's Seeker, Harry Potter! He is representing Gryffindor, and Gryffindor has possession of the ball. Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor is ready to shoot!"
Hufflepuff blocked it, and now it's Harry Potter—wait, what did he do?!
The match is over! Harry Potter! He caught the Golden Snitch! In just... five minutes! The stands erupted; this would be a new record, and no one could remember a match in which the Snitch had been caught so quickly.
"Did you see that?! Hermione, Neville! Oh my god! We won!"
Ron excitedly called out to the crowd.
Watching the young wizards cheer and jump for joy, Sheen realized that although Quidditch was boring, it was accompanied by many other things.
The expectations for friends, the desire for collective honor, the pursuit of the competition itself and the spirit of competition... at least gave the young wizards a profound memory.
But it didn't appeal to Sheen enough, and after the competition, Sheen went to the Transfiguration Office.
Hagrid has asked him to go to the Forbidden Forest today to introduce him to a "special magical creature".
Sheehan had been looking forward to this for some time, wondering if the Norwegian Spinosaurus had arrived ahead of schedule.
Or is there a reasonable discrepancy in the timeline I remember?
After all, in his memory, the original work did not explicitly state when the Norwegian Spinosaurus arrived; Shinn was merely estimating the timeframe based on major events.
Inside the Transfiguration office, Professor McGonagall was writing something as usual.
She would occasionally glance at Sheehan's Transfiguration practice and then correct some minor mistakes for him.
Time passed by with the soft rustling of snowflakes falling on the windowpane.
Sheen waved his wand at the fireplace, and the flames clearly formed a large lizard head, looking both ferocious and somewhat amusing.
But actually, Shin wanted to transform into a fire dragon...
His transformation from "objects" to "magic" progressed rapidly, thanks to his special talent.
Furthermore, thanks to his imitation of the magical forms of the magical creatures themselves, he easily completed the seven-year journey of a junior wizard.
Salamanders, fire crabs, snowmen, water serpents... these are all magical forms that Sheen can freely command.
However, once you break away from the magical circuits that magical creatures possess, it becomes very difficult to create one out of thin air.
For example, when the fireplace transforms, Sheen can only command a small portion of it; similarly, when the wizard chess pieces are transformed, Sheen can only manipulate a few small ones.
This gives you an idea of just how powerful it was for Professor Dumbledore to casually command the statues and Professor McGonagall's stone blocks to move.
Sheen speculated that they might even surpass the "Masters" in this field.
So what lies above the master?
Goodbye, Professor McGonagall.
Sheen politely said goodbye and left the Transfiguration office.
Professor McGonagall watched his small figure disappear through the doorway, then took a sip of her hot tea.
This was sent by Marcus... He hasn't sent anything in a long time.
……
On the way to the Forbidden Forest, Sheen dreamed that the fire dragon could not only help him make fire dragon cookies, but also help him study the transformation magic from "flame" to "fire dragon".
Within the Fiery Blaze, the flames begin to transform, becoming a large group of beasts made of fire: salamanders, chimeras, and fire dragons...
Sheen inexplicably felt that this was somewhat similar to his own development of Transfiguration. Could it be that he... had somehow developed Fiendfire himself?
He opened the panel:
[Wizard Sheen, Dark Magic Talent: Gold]
[Evaluation: You are a rare genius in the history of dark magic. Dark magic will embrace you. You are the born king of dark magic.]
Black magic, Sheen thought, maybe it's better not to hug...
