Chapter 210: The Plan Map
Chapter 210: The Plan Map
The effect of ending all curses greatly excited the young wizards.
For the next few days, everyone practiced the spell.
Hermione, Justin, and Neville were at Hope Cottage almost every day; Ron, though sometimes drawn to the strange wizard chess and sometimes to Quidditch, was also frequently present at Hope Cottage.
Only Harry had to train five times a week. After learning the latest Quidditch news, Wood silently increased the intensity of the entire Quidditch training.
The twins, Harry, and the others were all in dire straits.
Roger would occasionally provoke them at the locker room door:
"Ravenclaw is about to achieve glory!"
This infuriated Wood, who wished he could immediately send everyone out to fight Ravenclaw to a decisive victory.
At this point, Ron felt more like a member of the hut than Harry did. The heavy training meant that Harry's way of getting news about his friends was through listening to Ron's descriptions.
For example, what special dangerous plants did they encounter in the greenhouse, or what kind of dessert Professor Sprout gave them as a reward?
At the same time, Harry was also incredibly worried about something. This matter weighed heavily on his mind, almost as much as Professor Quirrell's—
He was going to face off against Sheehan on the Quidditch pitch.
Ron practiced the Ten Thousand Curses to the End with everyone in Hope Hut, and was always exhausted when he returned to his dormitory.
Harry wanted to share his worries with him, but all he could hear was Ron muttering:
"Oh, Harry, let's talk about it tomorrow. What can't be discussed tomorrow?"
But by tomorrow, his story would still remain unchanged; he seemed to be completely exhausted and confused.
So Harry could only fret and continue training.
……
It was a clear but chilly morning.
Sheehan solemnly reminded Justin not to get too close to Professor Quirrell.
Lately, thanks to their mastery of the Curse of the End, they have become increasingly bold, even daring to secretly follow Professor Quirrell.
The people in the cabin probably all shared this thought:
They could use this spell to avert danger if they encountered it. But if they had something on Professor Quirrell, they could report it to Headmaster Dumbledore—and as a result, they personally drove Voldemort's henchmen out of the castle.
This is a naive idea, and a dangerous one.
Headmaster Dumbledore could guarantee the safety of the entire Hogwarts in the first year, but he couldn't guarantee that a few young wizards who wanted to deliberately seek danger wouldn't suffer from the Oblivion Curse or even the Imperius Curse.
They were really...too reckless.
But then I thought about it again. When Harry, Hermione, and Ron were in their first year, they dared to go straight into the dangerous level to get the Philosopher's Stone first, in order to ensure its safety.
It seems that monitoring Professor Quirrell's actions would be much safer.
Indeed, the wizards' recklessness is relative; there is no most reckless wizard, only more reckless ones.
In the forbidden forest.
Sheen created a map showing the distribution of magical creatures and, after adding some simple alchemical techniques, made it like a work planner, displaying the tasks to be completed that day.
Hagrid was originally:
"I have much more in my head than that!"
Then it became:
"What have I forgotten? Sheen, oh, just tell me this once..."
Sheen then gave Hagrid a portion, and Hagrid was overjoyed all day, insisting that Sheen try some fudge.
Until Sheen placed the dessert on the sofa, no one in the cabin could believe it was a gummy candy. It was so soft that it needed to be toasted by the fireplace before it could be eaten.
Hagrid told Sheehan that he would make this dessert for the Hogwarts professors at Christmas, and that he would "carefully" make various different flavors.
He confidently asserted that the professors greatly admired his work.
However, the truth is likely that the professors probably don't like it. No one just stood up to tell him the truth because they couldn't bear to.
Even Professor Snape, who was always "straightforward," didn't tell him.
Just how awful is this fudge? Well, its hardness is comparable to that of a rock candy.
The taste was enough to make Justin look uncomfortable.
"It seems like my tooth has been knocked out..."
Ron took a bite of the uncooked bread and looked flustered and sad.
"My teeth... mmm..."
Next was Neville; he baked it for too long, the sugar became too soft, and his teeth got stuck.
Justin reluctantly took the two to the school hospital.
Sheen looked at the noisy little wizards, shook his head slightly, and then tapped the table, causing the bookshelf to produce a notebook containing Sheen's study notes from the Forbidden Forest.
In the Forbidden Forest, each feeding or touch increases the magical creatures' affinity, but not very quickly.
Thestrals, in particular, are gentle in nature, but they are not easily drawn to a particular wizard.
Fortunately, the level of intimacy changes every day, so Sheen is not in a hurry. He has enough time to gain Thestral's trust.
Compared to high-level alchemical creations that require a long preparation time, Sheen has recently focused his efforts on mid-level alchemical creations.
[Intermediate Level - Strange and Weird Wizard Chess: Expert Level (120/3000)]
[Intermediate Wizard Chess: Expert Level (119/3000)]
[Intermediate Level - Leisurely Broom: Expert Level (200/3000)]
Sheen needs six expert-level mid-tier alchemical creations, and now he plans to grind his current three to expert level first.
Recently, another one has been added:
[Intermediate Level Project Map: Apprentice Level (20/300)]
Once the wizard has gathered all the surrounding information, the map will provide daily updated tasks, much like the maps in some unscrupulous web games. If a task isn't completed, a red exclamation mark will appear in that area of the map.
Sheen's design purpose was simple: who could resist a red exclamation mark?
Next, Sheen plans to include traces of the wizard in the file.
He had the idea early on: the summoning spell could summon something with a specific attribute.
If Sheen uses very little magic to summon Justin's scarf, although he cannot actually summon it, depending on the distance, Sheen will receive a subtle magical fluctuation. This subtle magical fluctuation can help Sheen pinpoint Justin's approximate location.
But the prerequisite is that Justin cannot resist, otherwise the magic will fail.
The resulting map is roughly equivalent to a simplified version of a live map.
Once Sheen has mastered the skills, he will distribute a copy to the young wizards in Hope Hut.
Naturally, the planning map and the strange wizard chess set became Sheen's recent focus.
