Chapter 232: Hagrid's Good News
Chapter 232: Hagrid's Good News
the next day.
early morning.
Water droplets still clung to the castle's spires. The sound of owls flapping their wings could be heard from the owl hut, and messengers swept through the courtyard, their feathers still glistening with moisture.
The figures in the portraits in the corridor yawned and stretched. Some young wizards emerged from behind the tapestries, splashing loudly in the puddles in the corridor.
They walked, laughed, and spread rumors.
"Did you hear? Justin's detention was lifted because they defeated the werewolves in the Forbidden Forest!"
"A Hufflepuff wearing a black and yellow scarf said excitedly. This is Ernie, a pureblood Hufflepuff of who-knows-how-many generations."
"Not only that! I've also heard there are giants!"
Oliver shouted loudly as well.
"And a fire dragon!"
Hannah, who had just joined, also participated in the discussion with great interest.
"besides……"
Susan didn't know what else to say. What could be more powerful or more evil than a fire dragon?
"And there's more mystery—"
Her mind went blank for a moment, and she almost blurted it out. Hannah broke out in a cold sweat and quickly covered her mouth.
The Hufflepuffs around them were all convinced; they all agreed that Susan was the most skilled little wizard at spreading rumors.
"Okay, you've won the 'Never Go Hungry' Club's Best Rumor Spreader Award. As a reward, you'll get ten extra points on your final exam. Remember to pick them up from the test paper."
Ernie said admiringly.
Justin and his companions couldn't help but smile as they passed by.
They were released from confinement, which was a very rare occurrence, so although they didn't spread the word about the fourth-floor room and the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts Castle was undoubtedly the subject of much discussion.
The reason they didn't spread the word was simple: exams were coming up, and although they were very excited, they all decided to wait until after the exams to boast about it.
After all, nobody wants to be pestered to repeat Professor Quirrell's repeated rebellions while reciting the Fairy Rebellion.
Sheen was about to go to the school hospital to bring Professor Quirrell some potions, which would help the sick wizard recover faster.
As for Harry, he seems to be almost fully recovered.
At the university hospital, Madam Pomfrey looked at the pile of expensive potions that Sheehan had brought, and was slightly surprised:
“Child, you’ve made so many unnecessary mistakes… Where did you come from…”
"Madam, I brewed it myself."
Sheen said.
"Ok?"
Mrs. Pomfrey gave him a strange look.
It's somewhat surprising that a junior wizard would use a professor as a test subject.
"Professor Snape tested them, and they are up to standard."
Sheen knew that Mrs. Pomfrey must have misunderstood, and explained.
"Let me see, child. Potions entering the school hospital always need to be confirmed as safe."
Lady Pomfrey examined the potion for a moment, then said in a surprised voice:
“Qualified, oh! That’s excellent for you, kid, oh—you’re Green?”
Madam Pomfrey seemed a little slow to realize this, because most of the potions she had were produced in the cellar, and the cellar had been sending in extra potions during this period, with the brewer's name written on them as Grimm.
Thank you so much!
Madam Pomfrey seemed to admire him, not even mentioning how long he could only stay in the university hospital. So, Sheehan naturally placed the potion on Professor Quirrell's desk. Professor Quirrell was cursed so severely that it was even more devastating than Voldemort's damage to his life and soul.
This surprised Sheen slightly, and he planned to go to the Forbidden Forest to ask Hagrid later.
Hagrid knows unicorns very well, so he might know some other methods.
Professor Quirrell was asleep, so Sheen continued to organize his current plans. He was only two intermediate-level alchemical creations away from becoming an expert-level alchemist; his Transfiguration skill was less than one-fifteenth of its original level...
A moment later, another notebook floated out of Sheen's pocket. This notebook seemed to be blank; even the words written with a quill pen were invisible to the eye.
Only by writing and sorting things out bit by bit can Sheen wrest more possibilities from the hands of fate.
Just then, a loud commotion came from the school hospital, and Hagrid squeezed through the door.
Hagrid always looked like a colossus when he walked through the door.
He sat down next to Harry, glanced at him, and then burst into tears.
"It's all my fault—this idiot!"
He covered his face with his hands and cried.
“I’m going to let you know that I told that scoundrel how to get past Luwei! I told him! He knew everything except this, and I told him anyway! You almost died going into that room! All for a dragon egg! I’m never drinking again! I should be kicked out and be a Muggle for life!”
Hagrid burst into tears. Madam Pomfrey, who should have kicked him out, only cast a whispering spell on him before helplessly dealing with a young wizard who had just broken his leg.
“Sheen—I saw Sheen again—I heard he went to confront Professor Quirrell by himself—I must be hallucinating because I wanted to apologize to him so badly—”
The school hospital seemed to change completely after Hagrid arrived.
He trembled with grief and remorse, large tears seeping into his beard.
"Hagrid, no matter what, Voldemort will always find out. Please, cheer up! We've saved the Philosopher's Stone; it's gone now, and Voldemort can no longer use it for evil. Have a Chocolate Frog; I have a whole bunch..."
Harry looked at Sheehan for help again.
"We protected the Forbidden Forest and drove away Voldemort, Hagrid, much of this is thanks to you."
Sheen said.
“Really…” Hagrid rubbed his nose with the back of his hand and said, “That reminds me. I also brought you some gifts.”
Dumbledore gave me a day off yesterday to finish organizing it.
What Hagrid pulled out looked like a beautifully bound book with a leather cover.
"I'll send an owl to deliver a letter to your parents' old classmates, asking them for photos... knowing you don't have any... do you like that?"
Harry was speechless, but Hagrid understood it all.
“And yours, Sheen, even though doing this might get you fired, you have to come with me…”
As he spoke, something seemed to come to mind, and tears welled up in his eyes again.
Sheen followed Hagrid into an inconspicuous, locked tower.
Hagrid looked around, then took out his key and opened the door:
“You have three minutes. You can go and take a look. I don’t know what it says, but it’s said that the feathers of the pheasant have extremely special magic…”
Sheen immediately guessed what it was.
He entered the tower and found a book with a black dragon-print cover. Next to it was a small silver ink bottle with a long, faded quill pen inserted inside.
These are the Pen of Acceptance and the Book of Admission, the sole method by which Hogwarts selects its students.
Sheen knew that at least the little wizard's birthday would be written inside, but as for anything else... he didn't know.
