Chapter 390, page 388: Tom's Autobiography
Being a teaching assistant for the Fantastic Beasts Protection Class is probably the best job Hagrid could come up with.
This is much better than being a lowly guard at the hunting grounds or a deputy key administrator.
It was also his little scheme—just think about it, the person standing in front of him was a "big shot" known throughout the entire magic world.
How could someone have such a "simple" past work experience?
Green, he should be like Dumbledore—shining.
"Yeah, I agree."
Sheen did not hesitate.
He needs to practice weather and spatial spells; before he can create a custom-made space for the magical creatures, he also needs to find a suitable place to meet and raise them...
So, what place would be more suitable than the Forbidden Forest?
"Thank you! Thank you! That was wonderful!"
Hagrid's mustache was sticking up.
And so, the Forbidden Forest welcomed a new gamekeeper, or as it's called on paper, the assistant instructor for the Fantastic Beasts Conservation class.
It must be said that the gamekeepers at Hogwarts all have exceptionally "glorious deeds".
The previous gamekeeper, Hagrid, once tried to keep a fire dragon and a three-headed dog he called "Luwei" in his cabin.
Before he took office, the second gamekeeper, Mr. Green, had kept a basilisk in the Forbidden Forest and defeated an eight-eyed giant spider...
Have you ever heard of such a young teaching assistant?
Ron, who was eavesdropping, couldn't help but say.
"With Sheen's knowledge of magical creatures,"
Hermione thought of Sheen, who had been by Newt's side and had even been invited to his house, and slowly said,
“Ron, he can teach about ten of you.”
Upon hearing this, Ron's eyes widened immediately.
"Don't joke around, Hermione... I think it's a hundred!"
These words made Harry laugh so hard he was shaking, but then he thought about it and suddenly stopped laughing.
It seems... to make a lot of sense...
A gentle breeze rustled the neat hedges on either side of Hagrid's cottage, and the lawn swayed silently under the pale blue and pink sky.
After afternoon tea, Hogwarts Castle falls into a state of languid relaxation.
The golden sun sank below the treetops, and a giant-like wizard was loudly bidding farewell:
"Goodbye, go to dinner... I have more good news for you, dinner will surprise you—"
Hagrid's voice echoed through the empty Forbidden Forest.
"What a surprise! My God, Hagrid actually managed to keep a secret?"
Ron was quite surprised.
In short, with this faint sense of anticipation, everyone returned to Hogwarts Castle.
At the last dinner of the Hogwarts Christmas holidays, everyone enjoyed the meal, including the young wizards who had just returned to school.
They were initially reluctant to leave, but now, after chatting with their companions about recent Hogwarts anecdotes and eating a few bites of apple pie, Hogwarts suddenly became endearing.
The auditorium remains magnificent and imposing.
Not only were there a dozen Christmas trees covered in silver frost, and thick ribbons of mistletoe and holly crisscrossing the ceiling, but there was also enchanted snow, warm and dry, gently falling from the ceiling.
Sheen and the others had just sat down, pondering what Hagrid meant by the surprise.
A moment later, Dumbledore arrived, and the noise in the Great Hall gradually subsided.
"Another semester has passed!" Dumbledore said cheerfully.
"Before you can fully enjoy these delicious dishes, I must trouble you to listen to an old man's cliché."
His words made everyone crane their necks. The young wizards around Sheen exchanged glances and immediately understood that the surprise Hagrid was talking about was about to begin.
“A long time ago, before I chose to become the headmaster of Hogwarts, a horrific murder occurred here.”
The auditorium fell silent for a moment, then everyone began whispering again. They pulled out the latest newspapers.
"Yes, just like those reports. Oh, folks, you can imagine what kind of situation was facing Principal Armando Dippert at the time."
Dumbledore took out a notebook, tapped it, and the notebook spoke as if it were speaking in its own voice:
"I slandered Hagrid."
You can imagine what Armando Dippet will have to face.
On one side is me, Tom Riddle, born into poverty but exceptionally intelligent, orphaned but wise and brave, a prefect and model student at school;
On the other side is Hagrid, a big, clumsy, and troublesome man who gets into trouble every week.
However, I must admit that even I didn't expect the plan to go so smoothly. I thought someone would surely realize that Hagrid couldn't possibly be Slytherin's heir.
It took me five whole years to figure out the secret chamber and discover the secret entrance... Does Hagrid have such a mind and such ability?
Only Dumbledore, the Transfiguration teacher, believed Hagrid was innocent. He persuaded Dipper to keep Hagrid and train him to be a gamekeeper.
Yes, I think Dumbledore probably sensed something. Dumbledore has never seemed to like me as much as the other teachers…”
This voice once drew everyone into a long-forgotten past; now, they were all listening to a murderer's confession.
Some of the young wizards even started trembling.
"I dare say Dumbledore saw right through him long ago."
Harry said, enunciating each word clearly.
So everyone around him nodded.
The voice in the diary continued, an arrogant, repulsive, and nonchalant voice:
"Ever since Hagrid was expelled, Dumbledore has been keeping a close watch on me, which is very annoying."
I know it wouldn't be safe to open the escape room while I'm at school.
But I don't want all these years of searching for the Chamber of Secrets to go to waste. I've decided to keep a diary. That way, one day, by chance, I can guide another person along my footsteps to complete Salazar Slytherin's noble task—to kill all the Mudbloods—"
The voice became eerie, frightening many Muggle wizards.
After all, this is the past of a heinous criminal and the death threats he issued.
"That...that diary..."
Ernie of Hufflepuff asked hesitantly.
"Yes, the diary has appeared, and it's in my hands."
Dumbledore smiled.
"So, as you can guess, a fierce and arduous battle took place in a place unknown to us all."
Therefore, I have some points to allocate. Let me see. Oh, right...
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, following their friend's guidance, bravely found a way to destroy the dark magic in the diary. For this, I award them each one hundred points!
A gasp of surprise rippled through the crowd. Now the Gryffindor wizards knew where Gryffindor's skyrocketing scores came from.
