Chapter 456, Section 454: The Crowds of Diagon Alley
Sheehan has been to Diagon Alley many times.
But never before has it been such a simple stroll.
Along this long cobblestone street, lined with some of the world's most enticing wizard shops, Sheen was almost tanned by the sun.
He thought about all the events since Christmas: the destroyed crown, the restless ghost, the burning ring, and the fake locket he had acquired.
Finally, his thoughts fell on the Resurrection Stone.
This Deathly Hallow is shrouded in a terrible curse, and it offers little opportunity for wizards to exploit it.
It requires a creature with magic to wear it for the curse to take effect; otherwise, the resurrection stone cannot be used.
As for why a magical being was needed, Sheehan guessed that a non-magical being probably couldn't survive in Voldemort's eyes.
This curse cannot be broken, it can only be endured, just like the liquid in the cave.
Voldemort has gone further than any wizard in the wizarding world today when it comes to curses; at least Sheen sees no hope of breaking the curse.
So, what should he do to use the resurrection stone?
During the long, sunny days, wizards of all kinds strolled in and out of the shops and ate under the brightly colored parasols outside the coffee shops.
Beside Marcus, Sheehan could hear customers showing each other what they had bought:
“Old friend, this is a moon-viewing mirror—no more fiddling with moon charts, right?”
Or we can discuss the pros and cons of magic schools:
"Personally, I think Hogwarts is the best magic school in the world, and I would not let my children go to any other school."
Marcus was immediately drawn to the ice cream shop the moment he saw it.
"Ice cream, of course, that's fantastic."
Without further ado, he pulled Sheehan to sit in the bright sunlight outside the Florin Fosco ice cream shop.
Every half hour, he would happily add another ice cream to the table.
"Oh, time flies, my dear child, you're going to be in third grade..."
As Marcus spoke, the ice cream stuck to his beard trembled.
Before long, they plunged into the Quidditch boutique again.
Marcus was enjoying the moment: a crowd had gathered in the Quidditch shop, and he squeezed through the excited men and women of wizards to find a newly set-up platform. With a wave of his hand, he bought Nimbus 2001.
"I haven't played Quidditch in a long time."
Sheen tried to dissuade him.
"Oh, that's great. Another treatment, sir."
Marcus said boldly.
The owner of the Quidditch boutique was overjoyed and told them some special news:
"Yes, at ten o'clock, the most mysterious shop in Diagon Alley will soon open to the public. The legendary Mr. Hermes will be putting new magical artifacts on the shelves."
The elderly wizard, who was quite old, said.
"That's really..."
The moment Marcus spoke, the entire Diagon Alley began to change.
Colorful posters were hung up, and even the walls of the Quidditch shop were covered with them.
"That mysterious shop has brought a lot of customers to Diagon Alley."
The boss said with a smile, then watched as a young wizard hung up the poster.
A peculiar creature, the fluffy catkin, floated up over the entire Diagon Alley.
Its body is like a sphere, covered with soft, creamy-yellow fur.
Sheen knew that this was a gentle, magical creature—it remained unmoved no matter how much you hugged or tossed around. It had always been a popular pet among wizards.
Of course, the wizards don't sell them for a low price either.
Now, they are enchanted and float in the bright, dazzling sunlight of Diagon Alley. Their long, pink tongues are smeared with flyers; if you touch them, they place the flyers in your hand.
The entire Diagon Alley was abuzz with excitement as wizards, both men and women, eagerly took the propaganda newspapers from Plumfong's hands.
But in fact, if they look up, they will find that the posters hanging on the wall and the posters in their hands are saying the same thing.
[Mr. Hermes is about to bring about a revolution in the wizarding world—are you still using fireplaces and owls?]
[The Magic Hand Mirror breaks down the barriers of space!]
While other children are talking face-to-face with their families at magic school, is your child still anxiously waiting for a reply from an owl?
The wizards' eyes were filled with all sorts of information, and they became inexplicably anxious, wanting to understand what this "magic hand mirror" was.
This item has been featured in major newspapers for several days now.
Without them even needing to search, some well-dressed wizards had already begun using Apparition to guide them.
"The Fairy Tale Corner is open for a limited time at 77 Diagon Alley. If you're in a hurry, grab my hand."
"Do not crowd, no need to queue, but please remember that each wizard can only stay in Fairy Tale Workshop for half an hour each day."
Please leave regardless of whether you have made a purchase or not. We hope you understand.
"My dear lady, please take my hand..."
Marcus was bewildered by the change, but he was clearly touched by the line, "Your child is still waiting for the owl's reply."
More than that—he was the one who constantly waited anxiously for an owl.
What is a magic hand mirror?
He asked the messenger.
"You can go to Fairy Tale Square to check it out."
The messenger politely extended his hand.
"I'm not old enough to use your Apparition."
Marcus refused, and looked hesitantly at Sheehan.
"Shall we go take a look?"
A few minutes later, they arrived at Fairy Tale Square, which was already filled with wizards.
Fortunately, Fairy Tale House was expanded multiple times by the Traceless Extension Charm, otherwise it probably wouldn't have been able to hold hundreds of wizards.
"Give me one more, sir! One is fine!"
"A male wizard said."
"The rule at Fairy Tale Workshop has always been one serving per person, sir, please don't make things difficult for us."
The waiter promptly refused.
"Are there still Pegasus versions? Or Fire Dragon versions?"
"I need a three-sided mirror, a slim one, gallons are no problem—"
"Is the camera function real? Can I stop using this bulky camera?"
The various noises mixed together, making one's ears ring.
At that moment, a waiter beside Marcus casually remarked:
"The first batch consisted of only three hundred copies. Mr. Hermes didn't actually intend to sell them, but he inadvertently changed the entire magical world once again..."
The well-dressed wizard said proudly, seemingly quite satisfied with his work.
And it's not just because of the generous salary Mal offers.
Marcus was already examining the magic mirror. After fully understanding the function of this magical artifact, his breathing became rapid.
"Sir, hurry, give me one!"
