Chapter 465-463: Mercenaries
"Listen, guys,"
Roger said with a serious face,
"We won the Quidditch Cup last year. It wasn't because each of us was better than the other teams, but because we were more united and smarter than any other team!"
We are willing to design a hundred solutions and strictly adhere to them!
He gathered everyone together for his final pre-match pep talk.
"We have prepared two of the most complete plans, including some that we have been training on all along."
But now, everyone, let's put aside our previous plans!
Let's put an end to that defensive counter-attacking plan! We need to attack! Attack! Attack again!
"Use a relentless offensive to make the opponent unable to focus on our seekers—"
Roger's voice suddenly rose.
"We'll fight tooth and nail for Ravenclaw, and then, win that damn Quidditch Cup!"
The Ravenclaw Quidditch team was in an uproar, their morale soaring to unprecedented heights.
"Wood, Davis, shake hands."
Ms. Hodge stated succinctly that Wood shook hands with Roger.
They both squinted as they sized each other up.
"Get on your broomstick... listen to my whistle... three—two—one—"
Ms. Fokky blew her whistle.
Sheen gently mounted the broom, and Nimbus 2001 flew faster and soared higher than any other broom.
Beside him stood Harry, who looked as if he were facing a formidable enemy.
"Go for it, Harry, I'll give it my all."
As Sheen spoke, he transformed into a streak of light on the horizon.
"I see."
Harry gritted his teeth and kept pace with Sheehan.
The entire Quidditch stadium watched as the two hurtled through the air like lightning.
"The match has begun, and the biggest highlight of this match is still them!"
Harry Potter and Mr. Sean Green!
They have given us many wonderful matches—
Yes, we all know they are absolute stars of tomorrow, and I would agree if someone said they could become professional Quidditch players—”
Lee Jordan almost jumped up.
"Jordan, can you tell us about the game?"
Professor McGonagall's voice broke in.
The professor seemed more excited than usual, holding binoculars and keeping her gaze fixed on the two of them.
"No problem, Professor—we can see that Ravenclaw has begun their attack—Merlin, it's an absolutely insane attack!"
Lee Jordan said anxiously,
"Roger Ravenclaw almost scored—are they crazy? At this rate, they'll be exhausted soon..."
In the stands, Lee Jordan drew the wizards' attention; on the Quidditch pitch, two wizards who were a level faster than the other players attracted the attention of the players.
Their speed has increased to the point that it's difficult for batters to aim, let alone now that the batters are practically fighting each other.
"The Golden Snitch has appeared! Sheehan Green is in the lead now, he's too fast—Harry Potter has to be more aggressive, even if it's just a sneak attack on dear Mr. Green with his broom—"
Lee Jordan offered his advice eagerly.
"Jordan!"
Professor McGonagall trembled upon hearing this, and she rebuked him.
"Oh, Professor—look! That was close—Mr. Sheehan Greene caught the Golden Snitch by a single knuckle. Harry has to act now, with the broom, the broom tail, his elbow—"
Lee Jordan wished he could play himself.
He was completely unaware that the dean beside him was looking rather unwell.
"Beware, this is a shameful trick!"
Professor McGonagall called out a reminder.
"Professor, we can't worry about that anymore, we can't worry about that anymore—"
Lee Jordan was practically leaning out of the stands.
Professor McGonagall stared intently at the sky, feeling a mix of tension and excitement, just like she had experienced before.
"Almost there again!"
Lee Jordan screamed, "Harry finally made his move! He accelerated recklessly, and the two of them became entangled, both losing their bearings—God, Harry regained his senses first! A golden opportunity—"
Lee Jordan exclaimed in surprise, while Professor McGonagall looked worried.
"No—Mr. Green came from behind—"
Lee Jordan looked grim, while Professor McGonagall secretly clenched her fist.
"The battle is about to end—it's almost over—both are accelerating with all their might—collisions, turns, it's too fast, I can't see clearly—"
The whistle suddenly blew throughout the Quidditch pitch.
Lady Hodge indicated that the Golden Thief had been captured.
The Quidditch pitch suddenly came to a standstill as everyone looked up at the sky, awaiting the return of the two Seekers; the stands also fell silent for a moment, everyone waiting for the final result.
"Who is it? Who is it? It's Mr. Sheehan Green—oh!"
Lee Jordan roared in frustration.
"well done!"
Professor McGonagall didn't scold Jordan. Instead, she waved her fists excitedly in the direction the two had returned, shouting so loudly that her hat fell off.
"professor?"
Lee Jordan was stunned. Hadn't they lost the game?
Or are they not Gryffindor?
The crowd erupted in cheers. Sheen flew high above the crowd, a strange buzzing sound ringing in his ears. He clutched the small golden ball tightly in his hand, slowly flapping his wings.
He immediately looked at Harry, who flew away in frustration until Sheen caught up with him.
"Just a little short..."
He was still muttering to himself.
"Yes, that was close. You did a great job, Harry."
Sheen admitted.
“Next time, Sheen, I will be stronger than this time.”
Harry didn't look at Sheen and said seriously.
"I look forward to that time."
Sheen nodded.
When he turned around, he instinctively saw Professor McGonagall, who was excitedly waving her fist at him.
The professor seemed much younger, radiating energy.
"well done."
Sheehan knew what the professor was talking about.
He shifted his gaze again and saw Professor Snape with a slight smile and a nod, and an excited Justin and others.
As soon as they landed, Roger and Toya rushed over like madmen, grabbed Sheen's neck, and cried out in unrestrained joy.
The others rushed forward as well:
"We won the trophy! We won the trophy!"
Many arms were clasped together, the Ravenclaw players hugged each other tightly, shouting hoarsely.
Streams of blue water surged over the fence and into the stadium.
Countless hands rained down on their backs.
In the chaos, Sean only felt many voices and bodies pressing down on him, and then he and the other players were carried up by the crowd.
He was suddenly lifted into the light, at which point Roger roared hoarsely and excitedly:
"The mercenary plan was a perfect success, Ravenclaw's second consecutive championship!"
We are the champions! We are the champions!
Over there, Justin and Hermione were trying to squeeze their way to Sheehan, and Harry was dragged along by them. They were all laughing excitedly.
Sheen was carried to the stands, where Dumbledore stood, holding the enormous Quidditch trophy.
