Chapter 55: The Quidditch Invitation
Chapter 55: The Quidditch Invitation
After circling a few times on a flying broomstick
Sheehan remained awkwardly standing in front of Mrs. Hodge:
"Madam Foster, may I fly a little higher?"
"For those mischievous little wizards, my answer is no, but..."
Madam Hooch raised her hand, and an equally old broom flew into her grasp.
"Let's go, what are you waiting for?"
The wind howled, and Sheen hovered ten feet above the ground, able to clearly see every dent on the grass caused by the passing ball.
The southwest corner stands, where the Golden Snitch usually appears, are just to the right front, and the gilded railings gleam gently in the morning light.
Below, a meticulously manicured meadow stretched out, where several young wizards could be seen peering out and exclaiming in surprise at the wizard flying alongside Lady Hooch.
With Mrs. Hodge's consent,
Sheen, embracing this long-lost freedom, climbed upwards. The broom trembled slightly under his control, but still obeyed his commands.
When he was over fifty feet tall, the entire outline of Hogwarts suddenly came into view:
The castle's spire pierced the morning mist, the Black Lake resembled a dark mirror, and the Forbidden Forest in the distance was a deep green ocean.
[You have practiced flying to a proficient standard, proficiency +10]
[You practiced flying to expert standards, proficiency +50]
……
A new flight-related title has been unlocked.
Mrs. Hooch followed Sheehan at a leisurely pace. Perhaps because she had been away from the Quidditch arena for too long, she had forgotten the terrifying talent of those top players.
She didn't even notice that Sheen was already flying very high; instead, she eagerly taught Sheen many practical skills.
Under Mrs. Hodge's guidance, Sheehan felt his fatigue recede.
This made his emerald green eyes, which were gazing into the distance, appear even more profound.
Magic is generated within the wizard's body, but further descriptions of it become vague.
The only certainty is that its total amount, or magical level, will increase as the wizard grows.
So when a wizard is exhausted and unable to cast spells, is their magic truly depleted?
If this is correct,
So where does the more powerful magic of emotions, or mental state, come from?
As he paddled across the grass, Sheen found his answer.
Just as a normal person cannot mobilize all the muscle power in their body, the same is true for the magic within a wizard's body.
The training called flight allows the dormant magic within a wizard to slowly awaken.
This pace is destined to be slow, but it is extremely meaningful.
Of course, Sheen believed that the daily spell practice, transfiguration practice, and even potion brewing were all doing the same thing, just at different speeds.
In a room where the fireplace was burning brightly, a pair of hands that had been tirelessly grading papers suddenly stopped.
Minerva McGonagall felt a gentle breeze, and she raised her stern eyes, instantly spotting the young wizard flying gracefully—
His robes fluttered freely, like a bird in flight.
"Quidditch..."
Professor McGonagall's lips unconsciously curled up as she lowered her head to continue working.
She abruptly looked up, instinctively walked to the window, and glanced at it again in disbelief—
Yes, that's right, not just a first-year wizard, but also that little guy Green.
How could that sickly seed she brought be flying in the sky?!
"Thank you, Mrs. Hodge."
With his limbs completely numb and sore, Shin slowly descended to the ground. He was drenched in sweat, but still had enough energy to cast a Cleansing Charm.
So that a clean broom could be handed to Mrs. Hodge, who had landed smoothly.
Interested in playing Quidditch?
Mrs. Hooch nodded with even greater satisfaction. Disciplined enough, self-controlled enough, and talented enough—it's rare to find a child with such talent.
Sheehan was taken aback; his memories of Quidditch were still from the books.
The first Quidditch World Cup was held in 1473.
Many fouls were recorded at the time—for example, transforming the chaser into a skunk and attempting to chop off the goalkeeper's head with a large cleaver;
There were also a hundred vampire bats released from under the robe of the Transylvanian team captain.
Sheehan silently shook his head. "Even if you become a great Seeker?"
Mrs. Huo Qi was somewhat surprised.
The Seeker position has a fascinating allure – because they have historically been the best flyers on the course.
Therefore, "Kill the seeker" is the first rule in Brutter Scringer's "The Batting Bible".
Sheen shook his head even more violently.
What a terrible Bible...
"I think you have a very good chance of joining the national team. Every team has a great mascot and..."
Mrs. Hooch's words came to an abrupt end.
Bangals have captured a black dragon from the Hehidari Islands as their team mascot.
Because at this moment, Sheen was shaking his head so hard it looked like a propeller.
He felt that compared to the Hehidari Black Dragon, he was perhaps more like a mascot.
Sheen thought,
Let the Hehidari Black Dragon be the Seeker.
He quickly fled the Quidditch pitch.
With light steps, he went to verify his conjecture about the wizard's magical abilities.
He didn't notice the gaze of the tall witch in the dark green robe.
In classrooms,
Hermione and Justin were talking in hushed tones.
It turns out that when the topic involves a person that everyone is interested in,
Ending the conversation became difficult.
Sheen focused intently on practicing the Clear Water Like a Spring spell, aiming to master at least the basics of both spells...
"...Eight, nine...one more time!"
Shin muttered to himself with a hint of excitement, "Although I can't be sure if this awakening of magic is permanent, it's still quite significant."
Sheehan had never seen these descriptions in any book.
"It could also be because I haven't read enough books..."
Sheen thought about it carefully again.
Open the panel again:
【Clear Water Like a Spring Mantra: Apprentice Level (45/300)】
Progress is slow but steady.
[Title: Junior Pilot]
[Slightly increases perception of flying broom magic, greatly enhances flying talent]
Significantly enhance flying talent?
Sheen looked down curiously:
[Wizard Sheen, Flight Talent: Gold]
No change?
Perhaps this significant increase is based on normal standards.
Sheen thought,
Or perhaps it was improved, but the limitations of the Golden Legend were not broken?
While waiting for his fatigue to subside, Sheen opened "The Advanced Potions Guide".
Learning to fly was for the Ravenclaw Tower, which I almost couldn't climb; learning spells was for the scholarship I wanted.
Learning potions, however, is for a much longer-term goal—
That is to earn Galleons.
Ample resources will provide more support for Sheen's magical studies.
As a first-year student at Hogwarts and an orphan, Sheen didn't have many choices.
Especially after hearing Professor Snape's words, whether intentional or not, and after a long period of deep thought, Sheen clarified his goal.
