hall.
Suddenly, the fire lizard on the edge leaped into the air, spinning wildly in the room, crackling and popping sparks, accompanied by some loud noises.
Percy, his voice hoarse, berated Fred and George. The salamander spewed out orange-red sparks from its mouth, a truly beautiful and spectacular sight.
It fled into the furnace amidst a series of explosions. All of this made Sheen's already pleasant and relaxed mood even more leisurely.
He was going to take a day off, and Professor McGonagall required him to travel around various parts of Hogwarts.
The professor sternly warned him that if a young wizard trained his magical abilities too aggressively, it could backfire.
The professor told him he had to get a good night's sleep to relax his tense mind; the balance between work and rest is timeless.
At the entrance of the auditorium, two pairs of eyes were fixed on Sheen:
"Justin, are you sure this will work?"
Hermione had to tilt her head back, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to see Justin from behind the mountain of books.
“Of course it can work. Have you forgotten what that knight said? He’s wearing a knighthood from the time of King Arthur. You know, knights never lie.”
Justin walked over confidently.
Beneath the enchanted ceiling (which was a gray, overcast sky this afternoon), bowls of porridge, plates of pickled herring, mounds of steak, and dishes of pudding were laid out on the long tables of the four houses.
Hermione and Justin sat down next to Sheehan, with Hermione's "Intermediate Transfiguration" spread out on a milk jug.
“Well, Sheen, I mean, it’s the weekend, and I’m afraid I need a little help…”
Justin spoke with a hint of embarrassment.
Sheen, pondering what it meant to maintain an excellent level of magical skill, nodded silently.
"I need the History of Magic Notes..."
"I just finished supplementing the section on the Arthurian era. My recent history of magic assignments start from page 65."
"There are also herbalism, astronomy, and potions classes..."
"Yes, but you'll have to practice the specific details. The instructions are detailed in the book."
"Oh—I forgot to mention, I also take Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms classes..."
Sheehan paused for a second, then glanced helplessly at Justin.
"Hermione has the Charms class notes, and you have the Defense Against the Dark Arts notes."
"You're so clumsy! You've been found out—"
Hermione blushed slightly.
"That's not important, Hermione."
Justin's smile became even warmer.
"You and I both know that without the notebook, Sheen can only rest."
While they were discussing in hushed tones,
Michael, standing to the side, had already widened his eyes, and the next second he started shaking Anthony:
"Look, look, this is what a friend is, a friend who can save a life on a death weekend!"
Hey! Can't you two do something right?!
The young wizards were always noisy. In the corner of the noisy long table, Neville ate his toast, occasionally glancing at the clamorous crowd before lowering his head again.
Suddenly, Michael grabbed her and put his arm around her.
"Hey Neville, I've been feeding you pudding all week, did you even get into that place?"
Neville hesitated, then remembered that Sheen's guidance always ended in the second corridor.
He seemed to have never seen that place before, so his breathing quickened, and his lips trembled with anxiety.
"without……"
“Merlin’s underwear—” Michael’s eyes widened even more.
……
evening,
The darkness gradually descended from the direction of the Forbidden Forest.
Sheen walked slowly, a magic lantern in his hand illuminating the stone path beneath his feet.
Before the invention of the "Fluorescent Blink" spell, wizards used magic lanterns for illumination.
Sheen could sense the spell set inside it—a combination of illumination spells distinct from "Fluorescent Blink," which appeared more powerful but also consumed more energy.
If the brightness of the fluorescence flicker is one, the maximum brightness is seven;
Therefore, the minimum brightness of the magic lantern is three, and the maximum is even more than twenty.
This originates from an older set of spells within it, which appears to be inscribed in runes.
There's a vague notion in the magical world that the older something is, the more powerful it is. This doesn't mean that magic itself hasn't progressed, but rather that compared to the simple and easy-to-use "standard spells," ancient magic is quite brutal.
Everyday spells like "Open Sesame" are quite powerful and are often used by young wizards in duels, resulting in many deaths and injuries.
Ancient magic spells took an incredibly long time to cast, a fact that is documented in international wizarding duels:
Wizards often pursue magical power, only to be defeated because they are too slow in casting spells.
For example, there was once a wizard who wanted to cast a spell with an extremely long channeling time. If he succeeded, he could conjure a mountain to smash his opponent, but his opponent defeated him with a single weapon.
Modern magic has been simplified over more than a decade by the magical community. This results in modern magic being cast incredibly quickly but with far less power than ancient magic, and its main uses may also be very different: for example, the cutting spell was usually used for execution in ancient times.
However, for Sheen, once his proficiency reached a certain level, standard spells would eventually become insufficient for him.
This also made Sheen realize something—no wonder so many powerful wizards, after reaching a certain stage of their studies, would take the initiative to learn runes and even more ancient magic; there is an upper limit to this.
Deep contemplation of magic has become an integral part of Sheen's life, and in his leisurely state, it is a form of relaxation for him.
Just as he took out Dumbledore's letter, pondering how to stay at Hogwarts indefinitely,
He saw a figure pacing back and forth on the stairs, trying to hide in a corner.
“Sheen—”
Neville practically mustered all his courage to shout it out.
Sheen stopped, and when he turned around, Neville turned around too, as if it wasn't him who had called out.
This made Justin, who was peeking in from the classroom door, burst out laughing.
In the classroom, Hermione was practicing the Levitation Charm.
Her desk was covered with all sorts of notes, and several books she had borrowed from the library were still unreturned, only to be covered by newly borrowed books.
Sheen's desk was slightly different. He usually memorized unimportant books, but he would still carry important books with him after memorizing them.
Just like the book "Theory of Magic," this also resulted in his desk being neat and orderly. Apart from the occasional refreshing of delicious desserts, everything else was traceable.
“Excellent magical skill obviously involves both practice and theory, and practical skill is the sole criterion for testing theory…”
A shorthand quill hovered above the light blue notebook as it recorded.
"A wizard's magical skill is usually demonstrated in practice through spells and transfiguration, and potions can also be considered one of them..."
Headmaster Dumbledore's request aligns perfectly with Sheehan's current goals, as he is already making preparations to deal with potential dangers at Hogwarts (such as trolls and "pure-bloods" who discriminate against Muggle wizards).
So he approached Neville while making plans for his goals after Monday.
