The Law of Heaven
Chapter 7 The Mirage of Heavenly Principles
Chapter 7 Heavenly Principles: The Mirage Dragon
For the past eighteen years, Aihara's life has been like strolling slowly through a quiet old alley, accompanied by the dim sunset and a gentle breeze.
Now his understanding has been completely overturned. The dim alley under the setting sun collapsed with a crash, and the real and dangerous world broke in like a wild beast. Without any time to react, he could only fully arm himself and prepare for battle.
Clearly, the robbers' plan was to raid Area One and then try to force security personnel and ordinary people into the emergency exits. They could have used the rows of seats as cover to maintain a safe position and suppress fire from above, but when the rear was attacked, the situation became somewhat out of control.
Aihara, positioned at the highest point in the darkness, unleashed a barrage of fire from his dual automatic rifles, sending the robbers scrambling for cover and screaming in terror.
The weapon he was carrying was the Tavor assault rifle, a product of the Middle East in the 1990s. It is a relatively lightweight and durable weapon with strong adaptability. It adopts a bullpup design, is compact and efficient, and has a high rate of fire.
Normally, even assault rifles with relatively low recoil require two hands to maintain accuracy, but Aihara, with his exceptional physical abilities, tamed this ferocious weapon with just one hand, displaying impressive skill in both.
Initially, he just sprayed bullets at the target randomly, but with his infinitely magnified and precise perception, he quickly mastered accuracy.
He moved swiftly in the darkness, as agile as a ballerina who had been immersed in dance for decades, weaving between multiple bunkers while simultaneously unleashing a barrage of fire.
The robbers were caught in a pincer movement and were in a terrible predicament. They could only divert some of their firepower to guard their rear, which greatly reduced the pressure on the security guards.
"Damn it, Number Five has betrayed us! We have a traitor among us!"
"That's not number five. That guy must have been killed in a mishap."
"It seems the intelligence was wrong. There's actually a Creation-level Immortal in this venue. He hasn't even used his abilities yet, and we're already out of control!"
The robbers communicated via walkie-talkie, reporting: "Boss, Number Five has been caught. Someone was wearing his clothes and stole our backsides."
A cold, sinister voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"Received, you guys retreat first."
The robbers exchanged glances, then pulled out smoke grenades from their waists and threw them out.
Thick fog rolled in from the darkness, and the robbers scrambled through it to escape.
The security guards, lacking infrared imaging equipment, lost sight of their target in an instant and could only retreat to cover, panting heavily.
Aihara, who had actually awakened his telepathic abilities, was able to pinpoint the robbers' location precisely. The smoke in the darkness was almost useless in front of him, but he did not continue firing because he had run out of bullets.
When the intense gunfight temporarily stopped, the tourists who hadn't managed to hide in the safe passage but instead chose to take cover in the corners breathed a sigh of relief. They had never seen such a large-scale operation before, and felt as if they had stepped into a Hong Kong movie.
Aihara released his senses and was surprised to find that no one was injured. The gunfight just now was extremely intense, and he himself had been hit by a bullet, but fortunately, it was stopped by the bulletproof vest on his chest.
At that very moment, he sensed a white figure flash behind the projection equipment, as if someone had taken advantage of the smoke to leave the scene.
Aihara had a sense of familiarity, but he didn't have time to follow up.
"These robbers are clearly not ordinary people. Many of them were shot, but none of them are incapacitated. The robbers also mentioned ancient artifacts. Could it be that everything Master Zhou said was true?"
He used deep breathing to control his irritable emotions and forced himself to calm down.
The existence of superpowered individuals in the world is already a proven fact, but if Master Zhou is also one of them, then he has to question the overall level of this group.
“Those bandits called me the Immortal Race, and the dragon-shaped bracelet I fused with is an ancient relic… Is this group's target the ancient relic stored here?”
Aihara pondered for a moment, then his phone suddenly received more than ten text messages.
The sender of all the text messages was Yi Ran.
"Brother Yuan, are you still in the bathroom?"
"If you're in the bathroom, don't come out! There's a gunfight outside!"
"Most people have already evacuated through the emergency exits, but it's not safe here either. The robbers were lying in ambush here beforehand, and we couldn't escape; we were forced to the fourth floor!"
"Brother Yuan, you must call the police after you get out!"
Aihara frowned as he looked at the text message.
"Anyone not involved in the scene, evacuate with me immediately!"
A security guard turned on his flashlight through the smoke: "I'll take you to a safe place to hide. Don't go into the emergency exit; it might not be safe there!"
The remaining security personnel huddled together and decided to go to the armory to retrieve more powerful weapons, since they had run out of ammunition after the recent firefight.
At this point, evacuating with the security guards seems like the best option.
However, Aihara did not intend to evacuate.
“The robbers already know someone is impersonating their accomplices, so this disguise is meaningless. I have to change into my own clothes. Fortunately, the surveillance cameras at the scene are all out of order, and I left very few traces. The robbers' clothes and shoes do have my fingerprints on them, which I'll have to figure out how to get rid of later.”
He forced himself to think calmly, took off his repairman's gear and stuffed it into his backpack, kept his bulletproof vest but put on his school uniform, keeping only his combat gloves.
He drew a captured tactical dagger and strode into the smoke, quickly heading towards the safety passage and running frantically down the stairs.
It wasn't that he had a strong sense of justice or responsibility, but rather that he couldn't control his inner fighting spirit and wanted to beat these robbers into a pulp.
More importantly, he felt that his second uncle's death might also be related to the superpower incident.
As for safety, Aihara wasn't worried. His mental perception had already covered the area, accurately locking onto the robbers and hostages upstairs. Through short-term observation and analysis, he hadn't yet discovered any enemies stronger than himself.
As long as we stay hidden and use our senses to observe, we can seize the most opportune moment and take down this group of robbers at the lowest cost.
This dimly lit environment was perfect for him.
·
·
In the dimly lit warehouse, the hostages were cornered against the wall. In the chaos just now, they had failed to escape through the back door and were forced to flee here under heavy fire, ending up in a dead end.
The robbers held their guns at a safe distance, but showed no intention of firing again, seemingly having achieved their goal.
Zhou Lunshuo squatted on the ground like a quail, covered in dirt and trembling.
"Grandmaster."
Yi Ran covered his head with his hands and huddled in the crowd, muttering softly, "Use your energy! I know you can do it, you can change the situation!"
Someone muttered, "The master's pants are all wet."
"What do you know, kid? That's sweat! You think energy just comes out of thin air? Which of you has power or influence? Hurry up and expose yourselves to buy some time. What if these guys lose patience and wipe us all out in one burst?"
Zhou Lunshuo said righteously and solemnly, "I understand, let's applaud!"
This time, no one applauded. The pretty girl in the corner cursed irritably, "Applause my ass! How can someone as stupid as you have the nerve to come to class? These robbers are obviously after the things in the warehouse. They just fired wildly in the hall and sent people to block the door from the back, just to trap us here."
She raised her hand to gather her naturally reddish long hair, the curled strands concealing her sweaty forehead. Her mixed-race features were exquisite and three-dimensional, yet still gentle and graceful, with a foxy charm in her eyes and a skin so white it was almost translucent.
Her face was covered in dust from the chaos, but she didn't look disheveled at all; instead, she had a kind of messy beauty.
Yi Ran turned her head and looked over, surprised: "Yu Xia?"
Yu Xia is now the undisputed school beauty at her school, and all the high school students in the city know her. Both her parents work at the police station; her mother works part-time as a forensic doctor, and her father is the police chief. Clearly, Yu Xia has gained considerable experience under her parents' influence and is able to analyze the psychology of robbers through their criminal behavior: "We should be useful to this group of robbers, otherwise they wouldn't have gone to such lengths."
"Yu Xia is right, we should be fine. If there's any real danger, I'll fight them to the death. I've studied Taekwondo for ten years!"
Qi Yuan chimed in from the side; he was the class monitor of Class 7 and a notorious sycophant.
"Don't worry, there's still one security guard there, isn't there?"
Old Wang, the foreman, clutched his injured buttocks and gestured with his chin toward the warehouse door.
"Are you the leader of this gang?"
Jane had already discarded her riot shield. She gripped the large-caliber Colt Python with both hands, aiming it at the enemy in front of her, fully alert.
"Heh, I know you. I never thought that the famous Mr. Jian Mo would be reduced to a lowly security captain in the Deep Sea Union."
The robber, a cigarette dangling from his lips, smiled coldly: "I know you're injured and your strength is much weaker than before, so don't try to intimidate me. I'll finish what I need to do soon, and until then... don't try to stop me."
They faced each other in silence, neither making a move.
Jane was isolated and helpless, clearly trapped here.
With hostages still in their hands, he dared not make any rash moves.
Three robbers were carrying metal boxes sealed with tape. These boxes clearly contained the company's collection of rare antiques, also known as ancient relics.
“These ancient artifacts are all locked with combination locks. Even with our limited access, we don’t know the passwords. Killing me won’t help. You can’t take any of this stuff with you.”
Jian Mo narrowed his eyes and smiled, "Why bother?"
The robber scoffed, "Who said we were taking it away?"
One of his men took a sculpture covered with a black cloth from his backpack, carefully placed it on the ground, and clasped his hands together in worship.
The moment the black cloth was ripped off, Jianmo froze.
It was a sculpture made entirely of wood, with a lifelike ancient dragon coiled on a withered tree root. Its slender body was as rugged and enchanting as a mountain ridge, poised to take flight.
"Ling Shu!"
Jianmo murmured unconsciously.
Zhou Lunshuo, who was in the corner, was startled and exclaimed, "Oh no! This group of people is going to use the spirit of the ancient artifact to offer it as a sacrifice to the heavens!"
The robbers suddenly attacked, pinning down the defenseless hostages and slashing their wrists with tactical knives, causing blood to gush out.
"Don't touch these children!"
Old Wang, the squad leader, tried to stop him, but was smashed to the ground with a rifle butt, and his wrist was cut open. The blood that flowed out was preserved in a glass container.
Qi Yuan, a taekwondo master with ten years of experience, was pinned to the ground and had his blood drawn. He was in so much pain that he cried out in agony, his tears and snot mingling together.
Yi Ran almost fainted; he was naturally squeamish about blood.
"Don't move around, cover the wound, and don't let it bleed too much."
Yu Xia's delicate face was as pale as paper. The intense pain made her subconsciously bite her lower lip and forcefully cover the wound on her wrist.
She had already figured out some clues; the reason the robbers hadn't killed her was because they needed her blood.
"Your blood is very pure and is well-suited to be offered to the great principles of Heaven."
The tense atmosphere suddenly changed. The robber turned around and glanced at them, his smile chilling: "To be precise, it's to be offered to... Heavenly Principle Mirage Dragon!"
The robbers poured the blood they had collected onto the ancient dragon sculpture, causing the intertwined dragon body to glow with an eerie red light, and the densely packed scales to become scorching hot, as if a dormant soul had been awakened, and the demons danced wildly in jubilation.
Blood flowed down the curves of the ancient dragon sculpture, crawling and writhing on the ground like a living creature, outlining an ancient and complex magic circle with a mysterious rhythm hidden within.
The robbers placed the metal box containing the ancient artifacts into the magic circle. The cold, lifeless box began to tremble silently, and its hard outer shell was illuminated by a halo of light emanating from within, as if a dormant spirit was reviving in the darkness.
"Let's welcome this great moment."
The bandit leader cheered, "Kill them to celebrate!"
For a fleeting moment, the robbers raised their guns, ready to pull the trigger.
Jane Mo is caught in a dilemma between stopping the ritual and saving the hostages.
A fraction of a second later, a faint silver light flashed in his eyes, and like an arrow released from a bow, he pierced through the air and circled in front of the hostages, leaving behind a series of fragmented afterimages.
boom.
The roar of Tavor assault rifles echoed through the warehouse.
The three robbers were sent flying by the lightning-fast kick, and the assault rifles, still glowing, were knocked from their hands and fell onto the hard marble floor.
The fourth robber successfully fired his gun, but missed the hostage who was unable to resist.
Because Jane used her back to block the bullet.
Yi Ran and Yu Xia stared in shock at the security personnel they had never met before.
"Damn it, it's still not fast enough."
Jianmo was pale and swaying precariously.
Just as the robber leader turned around, drew his gun, and was about to finish him off, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor, accompanied by terrified screams.
"Boss, something terrible has happened..."
Bang bang bang!
The gang leader turned around and fired three shots at him, the gun barrels belching thick smoke.
He already knew that someone impersonating his subordinate had infiltrated the area, and he had been on guard ever since. When he heard someone approaching, he acted without hesitation.
But he suddenly paused.
Because the voice sounded familiar, it really did seem to be one of his men.
The robber who had been shot looked down blankly at the three bloody holes in his chest, when suddenly a dark figure darted out from behind him and ran wildly through the darkness.
Aihara glided forward and stood in front of the bandit leader.
"Ding."
In that instant, he exhaled a breath of stale air, recalling the game he was most familiar with from his childhood, and with all his might, locked onto the enemy who was right in front of him.
