Chapter 15 Breakfast Routine

Chapter 15 Breakfast Routine (Collect and Read Further)
Jiang Che was awakened by the aroma of fried eggs. After groggily opening his eyes, he found himself back in bed!

Last night, I only remember falling asleep without knowing how, and then it seemed like someone was whispering in the middle of the night, which lured me away.

Jiang Che felt much better than yesterday. When he opened the door, there was no one in the living room! Looking towards the kitchen, the sunlight shone through the window, making Yoona look like she was being gilded.

Yoona stood in front of the stove with her back to him. She was wearing simple loungewear, her hair in a bun, revealing the back of her fair neck. Holding a spatula, her expression was full of clumsiness and earnestness.

This scene made Jiang Che's heart feel as if it had been gently poked a second time by something unknown.

He quickly shook his head, finally understanding why the Kingdom of Women was considered the most difficult obstacle in Journey to the West. "This is absolutely deadly!"

"Awake?" Yoona seemed to have eyes in the back of her head, not turning her head, her voice slightly hoarse from just waking up:

"Hurry up and wash up, get ready for dinner."

"Oh...oh." Jiang Che responded and quickly slipped into the bathroom. The face in the mirror was still Lin Yoona's, but for some reason, looking at herself wasn't as comfortable as looking at the real person.

On the table were two bowls of something that looked... well, very much like porridge. Next to them was a plate of fried eggs that actually looked pretty good, with golden edges and a slightly crispy brown color, which looked quite tempting.

Yoona sat at the dining table, picked up a spoon, and stirred the bowl of porridge in front of her, seemingly assessing whether it was edible.

She glanced at Jiang Che, who had just sat down, and decisively put down her spoon. "Isn't it obvious we have ready-made guinea pigs? Anyway, it's unlikely to kill anyone, so let's eat as much as we want."

With gentle, doe-like eyes, she looked at Jiang Che, gesturing for him to start eating.

Jiang Che felt a chill run down his spine from her gaze.
"You...you're eating too?"

"Ani~" Yoona said in a voice so sweet it could kill:

"You're the patient, you eat first."

"Patient my ass!" Jiang Che's lips twitched uncontrollably. "When has this deer ever spoken to me like that! It's definitely not a good thing, could she have poisoned me?!"

I looked down at the porridge, then, steeling myself, scooped up a spoonful and put it in my mouth. I chewed it a couple of times.
"Wow, Yoona, this is how you cook! It's so delicious!" she said, giving a thumbs up.

Yoona breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this, but then felt something was off, so she continued to look at Kang Cheol.

But seeing that Jiang Che was about to finish his bowl of porridge, his cheeks were bulging out, and he was showing a sincere Yoona smile.

Seeing this, Yoona was completely relieved, her doe eyes instantly brightening. "Could it be... that I really have a talent for cooking?" She scooped up a spoonful and put it in her mouth...

"What?!" A gasp nearly lifted the ceiling. The rice grains in the porridge were rock hard—it was completely undercooked! Yoona's eyes widened suddenly, her pupils instantly igniting with anger as she locked onto Jiang Che.

As soon as Jiang Che saw Yoon-ah fall for it, with a "poof," the porridge that had disappeared returned!

"Kang! Cheol!!!" Yoona's voice was so disgusted by the sight that it split, and her hand reflexively reached for the pillow next to her—ever since she decided to beat up Kang Cheol twice a day, she has never been without the pillow!
Seeing that Yoona had already grabbed the cushion, Kang Cheol's survival instinct kicked in instantly, and he tried to distract himself with food:

"Wait! Wait a minute! Look at this fried egg! It's big and round, it looks delicious! Trust me!"

Yoona wasn't having any of it, and instantly threw the cushion she was holding at me:
"You dared to fry an egg! You dared to lie to me! You dared to spit it back on me?!"

The scenario is repeating itself, but this time it's Yoona vs. Taeyeon, not Yoona vs. Yoona.
Jiang Che frantically dodged:

"Sis! Be reasonable! Didn't you trick me into eating first?!"

"You still dare to argue?!" Upon hearing this, Yoona intensified her attack, waving the pillow around in a blur.

five minutes later.

Jiang Che sat back down at the table looking disheveled, but this time it was Yoona who had her face ruined.

Jiang Che looked at Yoona's seemingly flat chest and still puffed up in anger, and decided to sincerely praise the fried egg, since it looked really good!

He picked up a piece of fried egg and put it in his mouth:
"Wow, this egg is fried perfectly, Yoona! It looks so good..." Before she could finish speaking, she felt herself bite into something.

"Click."

The crisp sound was particularly abrupt in the quiet living room.
Jiang Che froze instantly. "Flip the table! I really shouldn't have had any expectations for Yoona's cooking in 2015!"

Yoona's ears visibly turned red. Seeing this, Jiang Che silently removed the hard object from his mouth, which turned out to be an eggshell.

"Ahem..." He cleared his throat. "...Um, Yoona..." Yoona's eyes shot over like knives. Thinking that Jiang Che was going to say some nonsense again, she reached for the cushion next to her, thinking that she should beat him up again.

"Fried eggs are still delicious! I, Jiang Che, hereby appoint you, Yoon-ah, as a top-level chef!" He then added a sound effect from the anime "Cooking Master Boy."

"Pfft, are you crazy?!" Yoona finally lost her temper, grabbed a napkin, crumpled it up, and threw it at her. "Just eat your food!"

Jiang Che wasn't annoyed. He chuckled twice and, sporting Yoona's face, started showing off his eggs with gusto.

Yoona looked at her face and felt both annoyed and amused.

But immediately after Jiang Che finished eating, the two fell into an awkward silence:

"Um... I'll wash the dishes?"

Yoona nodded, stood up, and rubbed her chest, which had no breasts:
"I need to catch up on my sleep. Last night... humph." She didn't finish her sentence, but Jiang Che instantly remembered her silent care last night, and his courage to be sarcastic immediately vanished.

"Oh, okay, then you should rest." Jiang Che said, bowing and scraping.
Yoona looked at her own face, which was making such a fawning face, and her lips twitched as she turned and went into the bedroom. But after a while, she changed into another set of clothes, casually tied her hair up, and went to the entryway to put on her shoes.

Jiang Che had just finished clearing the dishes and chopsticks into the kitchen when he poked his head out:
"Huh? Going out? Didn't you say you were going to catch up on sleep?"

Yoona bent down to tie her shoelaces:

"Yes, I'll go home for a bit."

"Go home?" Jiang Che's first reaction was bewilderment. He looked around:
"Isn't this your home? Which home do you want to go back to?" he said matter-of-factly, as if he were the master of the house.

Yoona paused in tying her shoelaces, straightened up, and looked at him with an expression as if he were an idiot, almost laughing in exasperation:
"Hey! Jiang Che! Are you stupid? I need to see my father! Father! Understand?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Che felt that his IQ must have dropped because of his lust for beauty.

Looking at his silly expression, Yoona suddenly seemed to remember something. This guy had inexplicably appeared in her life, wearing her face, making her angry in various ways, but also bringing her joy.

But he has no family or friends in this world, it seems like he only has this apartment and her... Shouldn't we let him go out for a walk? ...A pang of pity and heartache welled up in Yoona's heart.

Her eyes softened instantly, and her voice became gentler:

"You...be careful at home alone, don't wander off, we'll talk another day..."

"Stop, stop, stop!" Jiang Che felt goosebumps all over his body when he looked at Lin Yoona.

"Yoona! You should go now! Go quickly! Go see your father! Have a safe journey! Don't bother seeing me off!" He gestured for her to leave as he spoke.

Yoona felt her emotions were caught in a rut. "That brat really deserves a beating!"

She took a deep breath, glared at Jiang Che, said "I'll deal with you when I get back," and slammed the door shut.

After watching Lim Yoona leave, Jiang Che let out a long sigh of relief. Lim Yoona, radiating maternal warmth? Holding him and calling him "baby"?! The thought sent a chill down his spine.

"That scared me to death..."

He finished clearing the dishes and returned to the living room, picking up his phone. He unlocked it, connected to Wi-Fi, and opened his browser. The Bitcoin page was still stuck on that price that had broken his heart last time. He sighed and closed the page.

"Startup capital, startup capital... How can I swindle it from Yoona? Yoona is more cunning than a hornet's nest..." He lay on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling, pondering various money-making plans.

The warm sunlight shone on Jiang Che, making his eyelids droop. Just as one of them was about to be beaten to death—

"Ding-dong-"

The crisp sound of the doorbell instantly woke him up.

Jiang Che sat up with a start, his first thought being, "Yoona'er's back so soon? Did you forget your keys?" He shuffled towards the entrance in his slippers. "Coming, coming! You didn't bring your keys?"

Then he yanked the door open.

The person standing outside the door was not Lim Yoona.
