Chapter 27 Confession?

Jiang Che froze instantly: "Sit down my ass! There's Yoona upstairs. I'm afraid she'll scare you to death in the middle of the night. I'll have to host a banquet for you later!" Refusing directly wouldn't be appropriate! But what if she actually follows us if we agree?
Thinking of this, he subconsciously touched his phone, forcing a Yoona-style smile on his face: "Ahaha... Unnie, okay... Let's go then."

Taeyeon watched him quietly, then glanced at the completely dark sky. After a few seconds, she casually waved her hand and said, "I was just joking. Maybe next time. Well... goodbye."

The car door slammed shut, and the van slowly drove away.

Jiang Che watched the taillights disappear around the corner before letting out a long sigh of relief, muttering with lingering fear, "What the hell? You scared me to death! But she must have noticed something, Yoona, I'm so sorry!"

Exhausted, Jiang Che unlocked the apartment door with his key. The apartment was pitch black. He tiptoed toward Yoon-ah's bedroom and gently pushed open the slightly ajar door.

Moonlight flooded the bedroom, softly outlining the slender figure on the bed. Yoona seemed to be fast asleep; the thin blanket had slipped down to her waist, and the moonlight clearly illuminated her full, smooth forehead.

A small, straight nose, and lips that were relaxed naturally in sleep. The lips were a natural light pink, like newly opened petals, shimmering with a delicate, soft pearly luster under the moonlight.

The gaze travels downwards to the rounded, delicately shaped shoulders. One strap is still draped over the acromion, while the other has slipped down to the upper arm, revealing more skin.

The silky pajamas clung to the curves of her body, outlining a soft arc at her chest, while the fuller part of the curve was hidden in the shadow of the blankets.

But the shadow was not completely dark; under the moonlight, it seemed to be covered by a hazy mist. Only the arc of the pajamas' neckline, illuminated by the moonlight, hinted at the unlit outline below.

The entire scene is enveloped in a sacred yet fragile atmosphere. She sleeps like a jade statue carefully sculpted by the moonlight, exuding an innocent and unguarded charm, while the skin that is inadvertently revealed adds a touch of languid allure.

Jiang Che stood at the doorway, gazing at the scene. The tension and exhaustion from just moments before vanished like a receding tide. A strange sense of peace quietly spread through him.

He tiptoed over, carefully pulled the blanket up to cover Yoona's shoulders, and tucked in the corners of the blanket, afraid of accidentally waking her.

What Jiang Che didn't know was that Yoon-ah had already woken up a bit when he opened the door. The abdominal cramps had subsided, but she was still very tired.

She clearly sensed someone approaching; it was Jiang Che's presence. Gone was his usual carefree and boisterous demeanor; even the way he pulled the blanket around him seemed to carry a strange gentleness.

Yoona's heart began to race slightly, uncontrollably. A strange, warm sense of security, like a spring stream, quietly washed over her. She continued to pretend to be asleep with her eyes closed until she heard Jiang Che's footsteps leave the bedroom and gently close the door, at which point she slowly opened her eyes.

In the darkness, she stared at the familiar ceiling, her eyes filled with confusion: "Lim Yoona! What nonsense are you thinking! He's a troublesome guy with your face on his body! And he's a...woman!"
Wait… why am I wondering if he's a woman…? Impossible! Absolutely impossible! My stomach ache must be making me confused! Time to sleep!
The next morning, Yoona left home at her usual time. Her stomachache had subsided, and she felt much better. Looking up, she saw Kang Cheol busy in the kitchen, just as she had hoped.

Morning light streamed through the window, softly illuminating the busy figure in the kitchen. Jiang Che was intently frying eggs. Wearing Yoona's slightly oversized loungewear T-shirt, his figure was somewhat blurred in the halo of light.

The sizzling sound of eggs frying in the pan, the aroma of food filling the air, and the quiet figure in the morning light—all these elements combine to create a strangely warm feeling.

Thinking about what happened last night, Yoona leaned against the door frame, lost in thought for a moment.

Just then, Jiang Che seemed to notice the gaze and, after scooping the fried egg out of the pan, casually asked, "Awake? Feeling better?"

Yoona was pulled back to her senses by his voice. Suppressing the slight flutter in her heart, she immediately remembered the important matter. Her doe eyes scrutinized her: "Hmm, much better. By the way, how was the radio station yesterday? Nothing went wrong, right?" Her tone was a little nervous, after all, she was an imposter. Hearing this, Jiang Che's hand holding the tray trembled almost imperceptibly, and the corner of his mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Countless images flashed through my mind in an instant: praising Yoon?, the language prodigy Yoon?, the carefree Yoon?, Yoon tripping and falling in the parking lot?... and Taeyeon's death stare that seemed to see right through me...

This is...where do I even begin?

Looking into Yoona's clear yet questioning eyes, Jiang Che's mind raced. He decisively chose to play dumb, instantly transforming into the genuine Yoona, his eyes so clear they seemed to reflect her face: "Don't worry, don't worry! It's perfectly fine! I acted really well yesterday!"

"I was well-behaved the whole time! Shy! Talked very little! Smiled a lot! Absolutely didn't cause any trouble! Even Taeyeon unnie praised me!" As she spoke, she flashed a smile reminiscent of Rock Lee from Naruto, her eight teeth gleaming.

Yoona was momentarily stunned by his Lee-style smile, and doubts began to creep into her mind: That smile... it looks so guilty! And Taeyeon unnie would praise him??

Seeing that Yoona's expression was off, Jiang Che immediately changed the subject: "Oh! By the way! Speaking of which, there was a little incident in the parking lot yesterday!" He deliberately lowered his voice, sounding a bit gossipy and excited.
"You know Byun Baekhyun, right? He came to see Taeyeon unnie! He was quite emotional, saying things like he liked her and about opportunities... but his manager stopped him in time!"

As he spoke, he observed Yoona's expression. "From what they were saying, it seems... it's about your company?"

Upon hearing this, Yoona simply gave a faint "hmm," picked up a slice of toast, and seemed uninterested in the topic. Her eyes were still lingering on Kang Cheol's face, clearly still pondering his suspicious smile from earlier.

Seeing that she wasn't taking the bait, Jiang Che suddenly remembered something and blurted out, "Oh... what about Li Shengji? I remember... it was around this time too?"

He casually brought it up, but secretly glanced at Yoona's reaction.

Upon hearing this, Yoona's eyes finally stopped showing confusion, but instead held a hint of amusement:
“Oh, that,” she swallowed her food, “was so bad that the railway workers’ strike was so big and had such a bad social impact that the government needed a big news story to divert public attention. It was a collaboration between the two sides, each getting what they wanted.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Che suddenly realized, "Oh—!" For some reason, he felt a little happy, and a relaxed expression involuntarily appeared on his face.

While eating breakfast at the table, Jiang Che kept glancing at Yoona. Seeing that she seemed to be in a good mood, his inner calculations started racing: He'd known Yoona for so long, and he should have done a good job, cough cough. He'd even helped Yoona so much, so it should be enough, right?

The more he thought about it, the more hopeful he felt. His eyes grew brighter, and he started stealing glances at Yoona more and more often.

Yoona felt extremely uncomfortable under his gaze, and even the fried eggs on her plate suddenly lost their appeal. She put down her spoon, looked up, and asked directly, annoyed, "Hey! Get to the point! Stop looking at me like that! It's disgusting!"

Jiang Che's spirits lifted! "You're the one who told me to say this!"

"Yoona, um," he cleared his throat, sat up straight, and looked serious. "So, I'm really going to say it?"

Yoona: "Okay, go ahead."

"Yoona, what do you think of me?" Jiang Che's face was full of seriousness.
Yoona's heart skipped a beat when she heard this. Looking at his serious expression and recalling his clingy gaze just now... an absurd thought instantly flashed into her mind: This guy... could he be about to confess his feelings?!
