Chapter 98 Jiang Cheyan

Although Sunny was still a little unwilling, she knew that Jiang Che was telling the truth.

She glared at Jiang Che in annoyance, but ultimately channeled her anger into her appetite, silently planning to offer an even bigger discount once a suitable itinerary became available.

Jiang Che secretly breathed a sigh of relief. When he looked up, he met Yoona's complicated gaze. He simply winked at her.

Yoona immediately looked away as if she had been burned.

Under the table, Taeyeon gently nudged Sunny's foot and whispered:

"Sun-kyu, don't be angry..."

Sunny retaliated by kicking her:
"Eat your food! Traitors have no right to speak!"

Over the next few days, Taeyeon and Sunny finally went back to their respective homes and mothers. Kang Cheol and Yoona both secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
They thought life could temporarily return to normal—although they both knew perfectly well that since that night, the so-called normalcy was long gone.

Although they were gone, their presence remained undiminished. Sunny, a capitalist aspiring to be like Li the Skinflint, quickly created a small group chat with an extremely arrogant name—【Girls' Generation and Temporary Workers】.

Ever since Jiang Che joined this group, he's found it incredibly fun. His back pain and leg aches have disappeared every day.

[Sunny: Jiang Che, please make your presence felt more in the group chat from now on, so I know you're still safe. (smile.jpg)]

Sunny: Get lost!

But Sunny still refused to give up:
[Sunny: Is that all you aspire to?]

[Jiang Che: Sigh, you don't understand. How can a sparrow know the ambition of a swan? You think I'm posting these pictures to let you know I'm safe? No, you're wrong.]

[sunny: ? ? ]

[Jiang Che: I post these things simply to share happiness]

As a result, she got really angry again.

Yoona and Taeyeon occasionally couldn't stand it and would send an emoji to try and calm things down, but Sunny would always attack them indiscriminately.
"You two are both obsessed with love and living in luxury, so shut up!"

Thus, the group chat smoothly devolved into a three-way battle...

After spending a few days in this warm group atmosphere, one morning, Taeyeon sent a message to the group.

[Taeyeon: Kang Cheol, what are you doing? Are you busy? (Little bunny.jpg)]

Upon seeing the message, Jiang Che felt a pang of doubt and replied: 【Not busy for now】

[Taeyeon: Ahem, there's a small fan meeting this afternoon, mostly just chatting, shaking hands, and signing autographs. Why don't you go for me? I'll just stay home and rest. I'll pay you.]

Looking at Taeyeon's message, Jiang Che seriously suspected that this woman was deliberately sending him money—and deliberately showing it to Li Bapi.

[Jiang Che: Ahem, send me the time and location. Is there anything I need to be aware of?]

[Taeyeon: There are so many things to be careful about. I won't go into the rest, but most importantly, please don't show off your four languages! I'm a terrible student, so I can't help you with that. I'll come pick you up later, so come to my place and change your clothes first.]

Jiang Che thought for a moment and replied "OK". After all, there was money to be made and he could also annoy Sunny, so there seemed to be no reason to refuse.

Not long after, the doorbell rang. Yoona was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, munching on an apple. Hearing the sound, she glared at Jiang Cheol with annoyance. She had mixed feelings about Taeyeon coming to her door; on one hand, she felt guilty, and on the other hand, she was inexplicably irritated.

Jiang Che got up to open the door, and sure enough, it was Kim Tae-yeon standing outside.

She was dressed casually today, wearing a baseball cap. Her eyes sparkled under the brim. As soon as she saw Jiang Che, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up. Her gaze was so eager that Jiang Che almost felt like he had encountered a human trafficker.

"Uh...Taeyeon, come in and sit down?" Kang Che stepped aside to let her in, feeling a little overwhelmed by her gaze.

"No, no, we're a bit pressed for time. Let's go straight to my place."

As Taeyeon said this, her head involuntarily peeked into the room, curiously glancing inside—and she met Yoona's expressionless face as she took a bite of an apple on the sofa.

Im Yoona: "..." staring coldly
"!!!" Taeyeon quickly looked away, then tugged at Kang Cheol's sleeve a little guiltily:
"Hurry up and go."

Jiang Che quickly made a hand gesture to Yoona:

"Then I'll go out."

Yoona bit into her apple and gave a muffled hum, which was an indication that she understood.

The atmosphere in the car on the way to Taeyeon's house was a little awkward. While driving, Taeyeon kept glancing at Kang Cheol in the passenger seat, making Kang Cheol feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Taeyeon, be careful! If you get into an accident, we'll both be trending on social media."

"Huh? Oh!" Taeyeon, like a kitten whose tail had been stepped on, immediately looked straight ahead without glancing to the side.

Upon arriving at Taeyeon's house, Kang Cheol instinctively headed towards the walk-in closet, ready to change his outfit. But as soon as he took a step, Taeyeon stopped him.

"Hey! Wait!" Taeyeon grabbed his wrist, her eyes darting around.

"There's still plenty of time! You...you can just stay here for now, don't rush to transform."

Jiang Che raised an eyebrow and readily sat down on the sofa:

"Okay, okay, I'll listen to you."

So, Jiang Che spent the morning at Taeyeon's house, still in the original body.

Taeyeon was clearly in a great mood, constantly asking him if he wanted to drink this or eat that, running around like a child who had just received a new toy, her eyes always lingering on him.

It was almost noon, and Jiang Che felt bad about just sitting there, so he got up and skillfully made his way into the kitchen:

"I'll just make something simple for lunch, Taeyeon. What would you like to eat?" Taeyeon followed closely to the kitchen door, her eyes brightening even more.
"Anything is fine! Everything you make is delicious!"

Taeyeon ate two simple bowls of fried rice with egg, thoroughly enjoying them. Watching Kang Cheol clear the dishes, her eyes softened with tenderness.

Seeing that it was almost time, Jiang Che got up to change his clothes. He casually changed into a crisp white shirt, paired with light blue ripped jeans and white sneakers. He then tousled his hair in front of the mirror to create a relaxed look.

When Taeyeon walked out of the dressing room, although she already knew that Kang Cheol could transform, she still felt a little scared when she saw another version of herself walk out of it.

Jiang Che noticed her expression and casually gave her a gentle pat on the head.

Taeyeon's initial shock vanished, but she muttered, "Oh dear, touching his head means I won't grow any taller!" She then quickly pushed him away.

"Let's go, have a safe trip!"

"Don't you need to wear makeup?"

"No need, no need," she waved her hands repeatedly.

"There are dedicated makeup artists at the venue to help with the makeup!"

After going downstairs, I found a black van following the signs. The window rolled down, revealing a slightly unfamiliar male face, around thirty years old, wearing black-rimmed glasses, and looking somewhat thin.

"Taeyeon, over here." The other person waved, their tone quite familiar.

Jiang Che opened the car door, got in, fastened his seatbelt, and spoke naturally:
"Oppa, shall we go?"

The agent skillfully shifted gears and started the car, glancing at her through the rearview mirror before instructing her:
"Taeyeon, you've attended many fan meetings, so I won't go into too much detail. Just remember the same old advice—be careful. Anyway, call me anytime if you need anything. Don't let my thin frame fool you, I can definitely protect you."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Che subconsciously glanced at his manager's refined, even slightly thin, figure, and his lips twitched slightly.

"Heh...hehe, then...thank you for your trouble, Oppa." Jiang Che responded with a dry laugh, then asked with a hint of doubt:

"Weren't there any bodyguards arranged?"

The agent explained:

"Because this is a small fan meeting, most of the attendees are long-time fans. The number of attendees is not large, and the event will not last long. There will be security personnel on site to maintain order, so we did not bring any extra bodyguards."

Jiang Che nodded, indicating that he understood. The car slowly drove into the three-story parking garage of a building and came to a stop.

He then followed his agent to the adjacent venue. Once backstage, the makeup artist and stylist quickly tidied him up before signaling that he could go on stage.

Jiang Che walked onto the stage, looking at the fans holding up "Taenggu" support signs below, and felt a little uneasy. He took a deep breath and, imitating Taeyeon's usual greeting, waved softly:

"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Taeyeon from Girls' Generation~"

The audience erupted in enthusiastic screams.

Originally, Jiang Che had kept in mind Taeyeon's repeated instructions—not to be reckless and to maintain the image of a slacker!
But as time went by, he became more and more relaxed, and his demeanor became increasingly natural.
During the chat segment, a fan asked, "Taeyeon unnie, do you love me?"

"Love it!"

"If you had 2000 won, how much would you give me?"

1000 Korean won

"That's 2 million won."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Che thought to himself, 'I don't even have 2 million myself, you're dreaming!'

But he smoothly continued:

"It's still 1000 won, because my love for you has never changed."

This remark drew laughter from the entire audience.
During the interactive segment, a female fan went on stage and was so nervous she couldn't speak. Jiang Che naturally walked over, reached out, and gently ruffled her hair, just like a kind senior student.

"It's okay, don't be nervous, I won't eat children."

The female fan's face instantly turned bright red, and a chorus of jealous and excited screams erupted from the audience.

The manager, standing to the side of the stage, stared in disbelief, his mouth slightly agape, his mind filled with questions. Taeyeon's aura today… for some reason, it gave him the strange feeling that someone from the boy band next door had come down for a side job.

The fan meeting concluded successfully. Jiang Che maintained his professional smile and waved goodbye amidst the fans' reluctant gazes.

Escorted by his manager, he was walking towards the parking lot. After taking the elevator to the third floor, Taeyeon called him, her voice filled with nervousness:

"How was it? Didn't you give yourself away? Nobody suspects anything, right?"

Jiang Che responded with a smile as he walked:

"Relax, relax, everything's going well, the fans are all very lovely. It's just..."

He stopped abruptly before he could finish speaking.

Beside the van, four shady-looking men with menacing eyes were either leaning or standing. They had red, yellow, green, and purple hair respectively, and were holding baseball bats. They were clearly there for them.

The manager's face paled, and he instinctively shielded Jiang Che behind him.

Jiang Che's eyes instantly turned cold, and he quickly whispered into the phone:
"I'll hang up now, we'll talk later."

Before Taeyeon could react, he immediately hung up the phone, stuffed it back into his pocket, and stared expressionlessly at the four thugs who were gradually surrounding him.

The dial tone of the call ending rang in Taeyeon's ears. Holding her phone, her heart skipped a beat for no reason—had something happened to Kang Cheol? Why did he hang up so suddenly?
Jiang Che quickly scanned his surroundings. The parking lot was full of cars, but completely empty. It was clearly too late to retreat to the elevator now, so he decided to probe the other party's intentions first, feigning confusion and surprise on his face.
"Um... gentlemen, is there anything I can help you with?"
