Chapter 65 Corpse Explosion
In a flash, countless tactical ideas for dealing with the situation flashed through Ellina's mind.

Since magical attacks are ineffective against it, the only option is to use physical force to destroy it.

However, the large clumps of excrement inside the dung monster are highly toxic and corrosive; attacking it at close range with knives or guns would be tantamount to putting oneself in a desperate situation.

The most suitable means of attack would be the bow and crossbow.

Speaking of crossbows, she suddenly remembered two wood elf heroes.

During the war against the White Walkers a thousand years ago, the Wood Elves sent two heroes to join the allied forces: "Hand of Nature" Quen Galicia and "Eye of Nature" Aurora Florella.

Wood Elves have no concept of nationhood. Their two leaders are chosen through a natural ritual by a council of druid elders. The "Hand of Nature" is exclusively male Wood Elves, while the "Eye of Nature" is exclusively female Wood Elves. Through the ritual, the two can communicate with the spirits of nature and acquire the swordsmanship experience of past "Hands of Nature" and the archery skills of all "Eyes of Nature."

Therefore, in terms of swordsmanship and archery skills alone, no one in the allied forces could match these two heroes, after all, they possessed countless knowledge and abilities accumulated by their predecessors.

If Aurora were here with her bow, she could easily riddle this shit monster with bullets.

Such a thought flashed through her mind and was quickly abandoned by Ellina.

Aurora died in the battle to defend the forest, and her body should still be deep in the forest sea. It is unknown whether the wood elves found it later.

Sigh, I hope her body isn't found, otherwise she'll be resurrected by this necromancer sooner or later...

Ellina made up her mind and spoke up:
"I'll hold it off, you guys go first."

Although her tone was calm, the resolute intent behind it was self-evident: she intended to use a suicidal attack to forcibly delay the Shit Monster's pursuit.

“No need,” Renn said calmly. “You don’t need to go and die.”

The essence of high elves' flesh and blood is also very hard to come by, okay?

Although Ellina wasn't afraid of death, considering that being swallowed and digested by the dung monster was no different from drowning in a cesspool, she was actually mentally prepared to sacrifice herself. Therefore, she simply said indifferently:
"Give me whatever solution you have, or just let me die."

“It’s just ahead,” Raine said. “Keep going.”

Upon hearing this, Ellina said no more, but instead coordinated with Bersalia's spell, rapidly firing bolts of lightning backward.

Spells have no effect on the dung monster. Its massive body, constructed entirely of liquid, can easily absorb fire and lightning. Any destructive spells cast upon it are like stones thrown into a lake, only creating ripples that momentarily slow the dung monster's progress.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier, and the mountain path underfoot was extremely slippery. When running, the soles of my boots inevitably kicked up a lot of mud and sand, and it was easy to slip and fall if I was not careful.

"Blocked ahead!" Bersalia screamed in alarm.

The landslide caused by the torrential rain had completely blocked the narrow mountain road ahead, startling the two elves so much that their hearts nearly stopped.

"Dia!" In a flash, Renn roared, "Transform into a dragon!"

Dia's petite body suddenly swelled up, and her slender neck transformed into a massive dragon head, spewing a violent torrent of blazing flames at the mudslide blocking her path!
The dragon's breath instantly burned through large amounts of mud and gravel. The group quickly stepped across the semi-liquid mud pit, feeling as if even the air around them was on fire. Their skin, unclothed, quickly became scalding hot and stinging.

"Rain!" Bersalia finally couldn't hold back anymore. She didn't have Ellina's determination to not back down even if it meant drowning in a cesspool. "If you're out of ideas, let Ellina try her method!"

"We've arrived," Renn said calmly.

Everyone quickly looked ahead and saw charred remains of corpses everywhere on the road. Although their expressions were unrecognizable, their convulsing, struggling, and ferocious postures still revealed the immense suffering they had endured before death.

"Where is this?" Bersalia asked, her expression filled with surprise and doubt. "The group of nobles from Dragonpeak City who fled earlier..."

Raine had no time to explain; he simply cast necromancy, resurrecting all the charred corpses around him and urging the dung monster to charge at full speed towards the rear. The dung monster, using its slimy tentacles extending from its body, swiftly crawled across the cliff face in pursuit, completely unaffected by the landslide-prone terrain. At the same time, this slimy behemoth instinctively devoured anything it came into contact with, such as dirt and gravel along its path, thus continuing to expand its size.

Under Raine's manipulation, the charred corpses of the lizardmen ran swiftly along the mountain path, like moths drawn to a flame, only to be devoured by the dung monster's slimy body.

These charred corpses struggled and swam in the slime, trying to break free from the dung monster's body, but only sank deeper and deeper.

Watching more and more charred corpses line up to charge and be swallowed by the dung monster, Elrina suddenly remembered something and asked in astonishment:

"you want……"

Before he could finish speaking, Raine had already begun casting his spell with a cold smile.

Corpse Explosion Technique!
The hundreds of charred corpses swallowed by the dung monster suddenly exploded at the same time. The dung monster's slimy body instantly swelled by half a circle, seemingly trying hard to shrink back and suppress the implosion, but soon a large amount of dung burst out from several weak gaps.

Torn apart!

Everyone watched in shock as the previously unstoppable dung monster was quickly reduced to a puddle of mud... Suddenly, they all covered their faces, pinched their noses, and retreated hastily.

A dead shit monster stinks ten thousand times more than a living one!
“I understand.” After retreating to a safe area free of odors, Ellina finally caught her breath and said in a deep voice, “If it were the previous dung monster, these charred corpses would have melted and decomposed the moment it devoured them, and you would not have had a chance to use the Corpse Explosion spell.”

"So you deliberately used yourself as bait to lure the dung monster into chasing you for such a long distance, ingesting all the dirt and rubble along the way, thus reducing its digestive capacity and giving the corpse enough buffer time to explode!"

“You guessed right,” Renn said, “but there’s no reward.”

"Amazing!" Dia exclaimed, belatedly realizing what was happening. "So you planned this all along? To use these corpses to defeat that Stinky Monster!"

“It’s a shit monster,” Raine corrected her, saying slowly, “corpses are the necromancer’s best ammunition. Remember, if you want to fight a necromancer, you must be careful of the corpses around him.”

Dia was still praising him, saying how amazing he was, while the other two elves, though silent, secretly kept those words in mind.

After defeating the dung monster, everyone's magic and physical strength were completely exhausted, with very little left.

Considering the endless swarms of sea cockroaches that could appear behind them at any moment, everyone had to brace themselves and continue on their way.

As evening approached, the rain gradually subsided and finally stopped completely before dark—washing away the lingering stench from everyone's bodies.

Dia took out slices of hard wheat bread wrapped in waterproof paper from her handbag, spread raspberry jam on them, and distributed them to everyone.

Although Ellina and Bersalia are undead, their bodies are still alive (and they can even receive healing from life magic), so they also need food to sustain their movement.

"This jam is a bit too sweet," Bersalia commented after taking a bite of the sandwich, chewing, and swallowing.

“Of course jam is sweet,” Ryan said.

“We usually eat it with cheese, the salted kind,” Bersalia said with a nostalgic look, then added with a smile, “Little Dia, if I ever have the chance to go to the Red Soil Plateau, I’ll take you to try all the Dark Elf delicacies.”

"Will there be such an opportunity?" Dia asked Renn with hopeful eyes.

“No,” Renn said.

Daiya was stunned for a moment, then quickly puffed up her cheeks in anger.
