Chapter 108 Miyazaki Hidetaka's Daily Short Stories

Lu Mingfei held a torch in his hand and walked forward. The faint light dispelled the darkness and illuminated the gloomy underground cemetery.

The entire tomb passage was eerily silent, save for the clicking sound of his boots on the ground, echoing between the narrow walls.

After descending the stairs, you enter a relatively spacious stone chamber, with a path leading to the front and another to the right.

He cautiously looked around, and in the corner against the damp stone wall, Lu Mingfei noticed a strange protrusion.

It looks like some kind of man-made object.

He moved closer and looked more closely by the firelight.

It was a small statue less than half a meter tall, made of some kind of gray rock, covered with a layer of slippery moss and tiny water droplets.

The statue sits in a crouching position, its disproportionately large mouth stretched back, filled with sharp teeth, as if silently mocking. On its head, a pair of ears sprout curved horns resembling those of a goat, and a forked hand axe is prominently displayed in its hand.

With its pointed ears, curved horns, and eerie smile, it bears a striking resemblance to the image of the devil in some Western cultures.

Lu Mingfei subconsciously took a half step back, his brows furrowed beneath the visor. This kind of thing seemed completely out of place in the graveyard of the hero Ingwell.

This doesn't seem like something that should appear in a hero's graveyard.

Or is this a traditional cemetery decoration from the border region culture, or perhaps a tomb guardian beast?
"This thing is actually quite well-made."

Lu Mingfei muttered to himself, looked around for a while, and finding nothing amiss, turned around to explore the cemetery first.

Just as he turned halfway around and took a step to leave—

call out!
A thin, swift, ghostly shadow shot out from the corner of the shadows without warning!

The figure was ridiculously short, yet its movements were incredibly fast! A dim arc of light from its hand tore through the air, accompanied by a piercing shriek, and slashed straight at Lu Mingfei's unsuspecting lower back!

puff!

Warm blood spurted out!

The surface of the hand axe seemed to be enchanted by some special power, easily breaking through Lu Mingfei's defenses and tearing a huge wound!

Lu Mingfei's pupils contracted sharply, almost as an instinctive reaction. He suddenly exerted force in his waist muscles, and the greatsword in his hand instantly drew a silver arc in the dark environment!
Clang—Sizzle!
The feel of it is very subtle; it doesn't feel like cutting through flesh, but rather like striking some kind of hard rock structure.

Lu Mingfei waved his torch, his eyes instantly locking onto the hunched, monkey-like attacker—the same little devil who had previously appeared lifeless.

Before he could utter his curse, another whooshing sound suddenly came from above!

call out!
Two dark figures descended from the sky, their rusty forked hand axes aimed straight at Lu Mingfei's skull!
At the critical moment of life and death, Lu Mingfei forcefully twisted his heavy body—

Clang!

The axe blade grazed the armor plates on the back of the neck, leaving a blinding spark!

"Isn't it over yet?!"

The furious roar made the tomb passage vibrate.

Lu Mingfei didn't even have time to turn around. He resolutely raised his left foot and slammed it hard onto the ground with tremendous force.

boom!
A gray-white storm suddenly opened up, expanding in a ring shape, instantly creating a violent hurricane wave in this small tomb chamber!
Stormy foot!
Bang—crack!
The imp had nowhere to hide in the storm-filled tomb and was slammed against the wall by the powerful force.

The monsters made a sound like shattering pottery, and after being pulled out twice, they turned into a pile of stone fragments.

Lu Mingfei covered the wound on his waist; the torn flesh was particularly glaring, and it was covered with a greasy substance that kept inhibiting the coagulation of the blood.

He took a sip of the Holy Grail's dew, the warm current flowing through his body making him feel better. Then he stepped forward, knelt down, and picked up a few shards of stone left behind by the demon. "Such faint magic."

Lu Mingfei murmured.

This reminded him of the three towering giants he had seen on the Tower of Nymgford.

The same artificial creation, seemingly made using some special process and then imbued with magic, usually only deceives intruders in the form of a statue. Because of the low level of magic on it, it is not detected by those with high perception.

Once activated, it will attack according to a pre-set pattern until the opponent dies, making it the perfect graveyard guardian.

"...Is it a golem used to guard the tomb?"

Lu Mingfei twitched the corner of his mouth. Although his kidneys were still aching slightly, he felt a little better looking at the grayish-white stone slag on the ground that had become harmless.

"Isn't this a great start?"

He muttered softly:

"Even though I'm the one who's famous."

Lu Mingfei stretched his limbs, and the healing effect of the Holy Grail Bottle made him feel much better. His hope was rekindled—now that even the little devil guarding the tomb has appeared, how far away can old man Ingwell's treasure be?
The more he thought about it, the more wonderful it seemed. He could almost see runes and equipment beckoning to him, and his steps quickened as he stepped into the long passageway ahead.

This clearly leads to one of the burial chambers, either the main burial chamber or a side chamber.

Clearly, the person who designed the cemetery did not place any guards in the passageways; they were completely empty, and you could see almost to the end at a glance.

smoothly!

Just as he strode forward, almost about to burst into song "Good Days" to mark the occasion—

Click!

A faint mechanical sound suddenly rang out beneath my feet.

"Ok?"

Before Lu Mingfei could react to what the unfamiliar crisp sound meant, the stone wall in front of him suddenly shook!
Whoosh!Whoosh!Whoosh!
The narrow tomb passage was instantly filled with the piercing sound of wind being torn apart. Three rockets shot out from hidden compartments in the stone wall in quick succession, one after another, making it impossible to defend against.

"grass--!!!"

Lu Mingfei tried to raise his Storm Greatsword to block, but it was a drop in the ocean. He barely had time to awkwardly hunch his neck and try to bury his head in the meager protection of his shoulder armor—but it was clearly too late.

Puff! Puff! Puff puff puff!
A dull thud as flesh was struck!

First, the excruciating pain of the arrow piercing his knee caused him to stagger, followed by the brutal penetration of an arrow soaked in kerosene into his abdomen and thigh!

when!
The faceplate was broken.

Within that pierced head, a glint of molten gold light flashed for a fleeting moment, filled with disbelief.

Then that golden light went out completely.

"Damn... Senior Yura... Next time... I'll still... follow you... to... chase... Bloodfinger......"
-
After what number death?

Lu Mingfei's figure suddenly materialized at the blessing point at the river entrance, his heavy breathing echoing in the tomb chamber.

He slammed his greatsword to the ground and shouted in a fit of rage:

"Damn it! Which bastard put three little devils in front of the door opener?! I curse you to come home and find three of them squatting at your door!"
