Lu Mingfei, become the King of Elden!
Chapter 173 We Will Be Heroes
Chapter 173 We Will Be Heroes (Fifth Update!)
North of Galid Avenue.
"Let's say goodbye here."
Lu Mingfei looked at the large pot in front of him and said.
After emerging from Gale Tunnel, we traveled together for a while, each with our own pot, but all good things must come to an end.
During this time, Lu Mingfei collected sufficient supplies and runes. He had many things to do: go to the Great Blessing to find Xiu Gu to strengthen his weapon, find Rodrika to train his spirit, return to the Dragon's Feast Church to eat the heart of the earth dragon, and visit the old man.
Alexander the Warrior has only one goal.
Red Lion City.
Both were warriors who preferred to work alone, and this shared experience had forged a deep friendship between them.
The soldier's canteen swayed slightly, as if nodding:
"I'll be waiting for you in Red Lion City. You'll come, right?"
Lu Mingfei grinned:
"of course."
Warrior Hu stopped looking at Lu Mingfei and turned his gaze to the vast horizon in the distance. Even he, who was usually optimistic, seemed to be touched by this parting.
He spoke slowly:
"I was created as a warrior pot—numerous warriors reside within me, endlessly dreaming of becoming heroes."
This is my destiny, and that's why I will seek trials. I want to test my skills, hone my abilities, and challenge powerful opponents.
One day, we will become heroes—greater heroes.
His words transformed into his signature hearty laughter, echoing across the empty avenue:
"What do you think? Do we have a way to do it? Hahaha!"

The round table hall remained empty.
The huge round table silently occupied the center, and the flames in the fireplace flickered, barely dispelling the shadows in the corners, but unable to bring real warmth.
A deathly silence hung in the air, with only his own footsteps echoing clearly on the empty stone pavement.
But Lu Mingfei knew where the real warmth he could find lay.
He walked through the archway, and the clanging of the hammer striking the chopping board sounded like a symphony, bringing him a sense of peace.
The figure of the girl who always knelt in front of the small spirit-summoning stall, meditating silently, was still there. She heard the footsteps of the person coming, raised her head slightly, and looked at the person.
“Mr. Lu Mingfei,” Rodrika said with a faint smile, “you’re back.”
The girl's eyes flickered, sweeping over the hideous marks on Lu Mingfei's armor. Her gaze wavered slightly, as if she wanted to say something but hesitated. In the end, however, her words turned into a soft sigh.
She knew this was the unavoidable price of becoming "King".
Ever since Lu Mingfei pulled her back from the abyss of despair and helped her find her home as a spirit trainer in this Great Blessing, she has regarded herself as his "subject".
The maiden, blessed by the king, had neither the right nor the right to advise her lord to change his path. All she could do was silently strengthen the ashes he brought back in this corner, harmonizing the departed spirits to aid him on his journey.
Lu Mingfei scratched his head, looking puzzled. He didn't understand why the girl started sighing as soon as she saw him. He didn't seem to have offended Rodrigo at all.
In the end, he simply greeted Rodrica with a bewildered look on his face, and then walked straight toward Xiu Gu.
The furnace fire illuminated the blacksmith's scaly skin and focused eyes.
"Oh, it's you."
Xiu Gu raised his head, his voice low and hoarse:
"What good stuff did you bring this time? Your weapons need upgrading."
He skipped the pleasantries and got straight to the point.
Lu Mingfei nodded, silently taking out the forging stones he had collected from his bag. The heavy stones were piled next to Xiu Gu's anvil, making a dull thud. "It's really a bit beyond my capabilities."
Lu Mingfei handed the two swords to Xiu Gu and said frankly:
"The blade is wearing out faster, and it's not sharp enough anymore."
Xiu Gu's cloudy eyes swept over the materials, then he picked up the greatsword that Lu Mingfei handed him and brought it close to the fire to examine it carefully.
The two swords seemed a bit heavy in Lu Mingfei's hands, but Xiu Gu wielded them effortlessly, as if they were two pieces of wood.
“It’s not that it’s not sharp enough,” Xiu Gu said calmly, “it’s that its ‘laws’ are insufficient to break through the defenses of those creatures. The Lost Knight’s Greatsword is just a standard weapon; its power is not particularly strong.”
"Oh!"
Lu Mingfei suddenly realized.
This is indeed a world filled with laws. The world has its own laws, people have their own inner laws, and even weapons are imbued with the power of law.
"then what should we do?"
He scratched his head:
"Want to change weapons? I happen to have a legendary weapon on hand."
"Humph!"
Xiu Gu let out a cold snort, interrupting Lu Mingfei.
“Kid,” he raised his head, his gaze casually sweeping over Lu Mingfei’s tattered armor, “what do you think blacksmiths do? I had you collect forging stones just to strengthen your sword so you can die a little slower, right?”
What happened to your armor? Did a dog bite you? Take it off right now!
"Oooo!"
Like a rooster crowing, Lu Mingfei hurriedly and frantically took off his Lost Knight Armor, his words still weak and feeble as he tried to explain:
"I...I just thought it wasn't falling apart yet, so I figured...it could hold out for a while longer..."
Xiu Gu ignored him and picked up the forging stone that Lu Mingfei had brought. He examined it briefly, and the expression on his face finally softened a bit:
"It's of better quality than the one that the girl from the highlands brought. It'll make your sword even sharper."
Lu Mingfei watched as the blacksmith roughly gathered his greatsword and armor beside the furnace, knowing he wouldn't be able to get them back anytime soon.
He rubbed his hands together, the warmth of the fire briefly easing his weariness.
He turned and walked to the corner.
Rodrikia remained kneeling before her small altar, holding a lily of the valley from the cemetery in her hands, its pale glow reflecting off her downcast face. She didn't seem to be meditating; rather, she appeared to be offering solace to the ashes.
Upon hearing the footsteps, Rodrika naturally knew Lu Mingfei's purpose.
She raised her hands, lifted a small box beside her, and handed it to Lu Mingfei with great care.
"Mr. Lu Mingfei."
Her voice had a peculiar ethereal quality:
“Ingwell’s great spirit… has been harmonized. His will and soul are stronger, and he longs to continue the war.”
Lu Mingfei accepted his "Master Uncle's" ashes with both hands, his eyes slightly focused. He saw the bright "+1" on the ashes and nodded in satisfaction.
Rodrica was enhancing a named ashes for the first time, so it took a little longer. After that, she could hide behind her senior apprentice and shout "666" again.
He didn't linger any longer, carefully put away the box that carried the spirit of Ingwell, and turned to walk towards the blessing area in the round table hall.
It's time to go see that old man.
