Chapter 198 Reunion

Later in the conversation, I learned that this guy named "Half-Wolf" Blaze was also going to participate in the Red Lion City Battle Festival.

Lu Mingfei suddenly remembered that Warrior Jar had told him that in Stormhill, a wolf-headed fellow had helped him and told him about the Battle Ritual.

"Do you know someone named 'Alexander'... uh... pot?"

Lu Mingfei asked.

“That guy,” Blaze quickly recalled, “was a pretty good warrior, so I told him about the battle festival. So, he's your friend too?”

Lu Mingfei nodded.

“It seems that the path of a warrior,” Blazer’s voice was deep and magnetic, “is that no matter what fate he bears, he will eventually step onto the same battlefield.”

He chuckled softly, the sound sounding somewhat desolate across the vast Galid Wasteland.

"We've arrived at the Unbroken Bridge."

Lu Mingfei suddenly looked up.

On the opposite bank, the majestic Red Lion City stands tall.

It stands like a giant, guarding the edge of a chasm-like cliff.

Unlike the grandeur of Stoneville, which blends gold and storms, Red Lion City is more pure. Its lines are more rugged, its edges sharp, and its entire being exudes a rugged aura, steeped in iron and blood, from which it has weathered many battles.

Red Lion City seemed to possess an extraordinary military force, far surpassing that of Stoneville. Looking out, the city's perimeter was densely packed with defensive equipment, barricades, and chariots.

The only road leading to the city is this magnificent bridge.

At both ends of the bridge, in the soldiers' camps, campfires still burned, crackling and popping—a necessary measure to drive away the ever-present, corrupt beast of Galid.

But the Red Lion Legion soldiers who should have been operating these machines and patrolling and guarding them had vanished as if they had evaporated.

The empty tower stood silently in the wind of the wasteland, and the empty camp was only filled with the sound of burning flames. A sense of impending war permeated the air.

“During the battle festival,” Blazer seemed to see through Lu Mingfei’s doubts, gently touching his shoulder with his hand covered in black metal gauntlets, “the Red Lion Legion will retreat into the city. It’s their tradition, and also an invitation.”

They welcome every warrior who can traverse the Crimson Hell and reach this place.

He paused in his deep voice, indicating:
"Stop being in a daze and follow me."

Blazer clearly knew this place well. His tall figure moved with an air of elegance, bypassing the silent siege beasts and barricades, heading straight for the bridgehead.

There stood a peculiar, monument-like object, about half a person's height.

The stone tablet had a rough, weathered surface, but a perfectly round hole was carved out in the center. Within the hole, a vortex of silvery-white energy swirled, like a galaxy, emitting faint spatial fluctuations.

"what is this?"

Lu Mingfei asked in confusion.

“Oh, you haven’t seen this before.” Blaze patted his head, a gesture tinged with helplessness. “A portal. An ancient magical artifact used for quickly traversing space.”

He pointed to the silvery vortex and explained, "Put your hand in it, guide your magic to resonate with it, and it will take you to the predetermined location."

"Where can this take us?"

Lu Mingfei asked.

Blazer turned his head, his wolf-like mouth open:

"It will save us a lot of walking and allow us to reach the interior of Red Lion City directly."

"Oh! That's convenient!"

Lu Mingfei gave a sincere exclamation of praise, his tense shoulders relaxing slightly:

"Thank you very much!"

Blazer smiled but said nothing.

He was the first to approach the portal, placing one arm in the silvery-white vortex.

Blaze's tall figure blurred instantly, then vanished as if swallowed by a vortex, leaving only a faint ripple of magic in the air. Lu Mingfei hesitated for a moment, then followed Blaze's example and placed his palm within it.

It was a very strange feeling. Lu Mingfei could feel the flow of this silvery-white magic, like the flow of time and space.

He closed his eyes slightly, trying to mobilize the magic power within his body.

As his will shifted, magic slowly flowed from his palm toward the "door".

hum!
A pulling sensation far stronger than I had imagined came over me!

Lu Mingfei felt a sudden blur before his eyes, as if he had fallen into a kaleidoscope of turbulent currents. Then, he felt as if he had been stuffed into a high-speed spinning washing machine, and he lost all weight!

The world spun around him, and his internal organs felt like they were being churned. The intense dizziness almost made him vomit on the spot.

boom!
There was a dull thud.

Lu Mingfei crashed heavily onto the hard stone slab in a disheveled manner.

He felt his bones groaning, a thousand flies buzzing in his head, stars flashing before his eyes, and his vision blurred.

"Oh," a familiar, deep voice with a hint of helpless laughter came from above, "it seems you're not quite used to the 'aftereffects' of the portal yet."

A strong hand helped Lu Mingfei up.

Lu Mingfei shook his dizzy head and subconsciously said:
"Thank you."

"Oh ho ho ho ho, you're welcome, my friend."

A deep, warm, and honest voice suddenly rang in Lu Mingfei's ears.

The feeling was like someone speaking inside a thick earthenware pot.

Lu Mingfei jolted awake, and most of the dizziness was dispelled.

He quickly looked up and followed the sound.

A large, earthen-yellow vat stood before him, with a half-wolf knight standing beside it.

"Brother Pot!"

Lu Mingfei exclaimed with a hint of surprise:

"You're here already?"

"Oh hahahaha!"

Warrior Alexander laughed heartily, patting Lu Mingfei hard on the shoulder:

"You really came! I'm so happy, just as I expected. I arrived a few days earlier than you, and the Red Lion soldiers told me that the festival hadn't started yet."

"And do you know who this battle festival is for sending off? It's actually that war god, General Rataen."

I never expected to see a demigod, especially one of the most powerful heroes in the Shattered Wars...

Ah, I trembled all over, shaking violently.

Upon seeing his friend, Warrior Pot was overjoyed, his words brimming with excitement.

“Ah, I know,” Lu Mingfei patted his can, “That’s exactly why I came here.”

At that moment, a well-armored red lion knight dressed in red approached from not far away.

"Lord Blazer, you have arrived."

"Half-Wolf" Blazer nodded slightly to him.

It seems his identity is not simple.

“I’m sorry,” Blazer said, “for interrupting your reminiscing. But would you like to come with me to meet Lord Jellian of Red Lion City?”

He's a great hero, and he enjoys befriending warriors like you.
