Lu Mingfei, become the King of Elden!

Chapter 3 The Orcs of Famyazra

Chapter 3 The Orcs of Famyazra
Lu Mingfei poured the empty Holy Grail bottle into his mouth, but didn't taste a single drop.

He shakily hung the bottle back on his waist, his back pressed against the damp rock wall, panting heavily.

I thought I had become stronger.
In the end, it almost turned into dog food (a euphemism for witnessing a romantic relationship).

Dealing with the pack of wolves alone had already exhausted Lu Mingfei's energy, and while exploring the cave, he was almost bitten in the neck by a gray wolf in the darkness.

But to have managed to fight his way here all by himself, that can be considered progress, right? He twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing a self-deprecating smile.

Unfortunately, they had run out of ammunition and food.

If he were to return to the Blessing Point to replenish his Dewdrops, the place would reset as if time were reversed, meaning he would have to fight his way in again.

"Then all this suffering was for nothing?"

Lu Mingfei muttered to himself, turning his head to look at the cave glowing with firelight.

Is this what Grek's soldiers have been hunting or imprisoning?
It really gives you a bad feeling, as if something bad will happen as soon as you step into that place.

Well, since we're already here, we might as well take a look at what's inside.

The worst possible outcome is death.

These words sound heroic, but coming from Lu Mingfei, they sound somewhat absurd.

Lu Mingfei slowly stood up, put the torch back into his spatial storage, then put on a small round shield, and attached several animal bone throwing knives to his waist. He then gripped the single-edged knife that had been with him for a long time and was now chipped.

After making all the necessary preparations, Lu Mingfei took a deep breath and, with a mix of trepidation and unease, stepped into the cave.

A campfire burned in the empty cave, and large patches of old, brown bloodstains were congealed on the ground.

The figure standing in the firelight made Lu Mingfei's breath catch in his throat.

The monster was at least two meters tall, its humanoid body covered in blackish-gray fur, the ends of which were stained with brownish, old blood. Its face resembled a hybrid of a wolf and other wild beasts, with a prominent snout and a mouthful of sharp canines like curved daggers, all covered in blood.

With a blue face and fangs, and a ferocious appearance.

The most terrifying thing was the bloodstained, grotesque sword in its hand. Its jagged blade design was exaggerated and frightening, resembling a guillotine used for execution.

The campfire cast its shadow long, long on the rock wall.

Fam Azra's orcs.

When Lu Mingfei saw the monster, its name came to mind.

The term "orc" is quite fitting, since they resemble both humans and beasts.

Famyazra? What's that? A place name? Is there such a place on the border? I don't recall Brother Galai mentioning it before.
The oppressive aura emanating from the orcs was on a completely different level from that of ordinary soldiers, demi-humans, and wolves. Their strength was perhaps comparable to, or even greater than, that of the Grik Knights standing before the ruins of the pass.

Is he going to fight such an enemy?
Why not just slit your own throat? That would be a quicker and less painful death.
Although he was thinking this, Lu Mingfei still took a deep breath, tensed his body, and accelerated the flow of blood to every muscle so that he could unleash his full power at any time.

After so many battles and so many deaths, Lu Mingfei finally managed to resemble a warrior in some way.

At least, he won't run away at the first sign of danger anymore.

In the words of those chuunibyou (delusional teenagers), what's this called again? Ah, the heart of a warrior.

It's just that she's so afraid of pain that she doesn't dare to die casually.
Death is painful and frightening, so every death should bring its due value.

That way, I'll die less often in the future.

The flames flickered.

"Roar!"

A grating roar erupted, carrying with it the stench of decay.

The ferocious and bloodthirsty orc brandished his greatsword, tearing through the air as he frantically lunged at Lu Mingfei!

Swah——

Lu Mingfei's pupils reflected the approaching blade, and his body reacted to dodge before his thoughts could even process it.

"This time, at least we should see its moves clearly before we die."
-
Lu Mingfei lay slumped beside Cifu, the shadow of the rocks reflected in his empty pupils.

Bullshit Warrior's Heart
I'm just an ordinary college student, why should I fight this monster?
Do they really think they're some kind of S-class hybrid?

Putting aside its astonishingly powerful thrust, the sheer force of its three-meter-long broadsword was enough to overwhelm anyone in close combat. Even more terrifying were its continuous, relentless slashes, like a storm of blows, which tore his limbs to pieces, leaving a trail of blood and gore.

And with that calf-like strength, the small round shield couldn't withstand it at all!
Even worse, the single-edged knife that had accompanied Lu Mingfei through countless days and nights finally broke.

Of course it will break.
After all, it was just an ordinary iron weapon.

This is simply adding insult to injury.

The single-edged knife is lightweight and swift, very easy to use, and has a peculiar property: repeated slashes will cause the enemy to bleed profusely, making it an essential tool for home, travel, murder, and robbery.

But now there isn't even a substitute.

The only belongings of the soldiers were heavy longswords and pickaxes.

Should we fix it?

The blacksmith's table in the church was covered in a thick layer of dust and rust.

He can't even swing a hammer properly, so how could he possibly use a forging table?

Brother Galai can craft arrows and bone-shaving knives, but repairing weapons?

This is even more absurd than a high school student saving the world!
Do we have no choice but to change our weapons?

Tsk.

Ironically, the only weapon he was truly proficient with was this broken sword.

Lu Mingfei felt a strong urge to give up again.

I want to escape.
He fled back to the Church of Arele and waited day after day for the little devil to come and rescue him, to take him back to the civilized 21st century, away from this bloody and barbaric world.

The idea was nipped in the bud.

He tried to do so, but was eventually driven mad by loneliness and isolation, and had to leave the church again.

"What the hell is this life?"

Lu Mingfei muttered to himself.

"What the hell is this life?"

Lu Mingfei suddenly sprang up and slammed his fist into the rock wall.

"boom!"

Gravel fell in a soft rustling sound.

"I've had the worst luck imaginable," Lu Mingfei said, giving the rocky top the middle finger. "Being a loser in my original world was bad enough, but now I'm suffering every single day after transmigrating?"

"Chu Zihang said I'm S-class!"

"Caesar said I have potential!"

"The results of it?!"

Lu Mingfei threw the broken knife in his hand hard to the ground.

"Go to hell! You lived like a dog in your original world, and now you want to be a dog in this borderland?"

The roar of orcs echoed from afar.

He reflexively shrank his neck, then stubbornly stuck it in place, which was both comical and ridiculous.

This action made Lu Mingfei suddenly quiet down.

How similar it is! How similar it is to myself when I was being bullied by Zhao Menghua, wanting to hide but not daring to.

"alright."

He stood up unsteadily and tucked the broken knife back into his waistband.

"At least this time no one said, 'Lu Mingfei, you should drop out of school. Stop dragging our class down.'"
