Chapter 371 Yabuki Sakura (Bonus Chapter 6)

When Lu Mingfei arrived at the familiar two-story building, he found that there seemed to be guests there already, and they had arrived even earlier than him.

A girl in a black suit stood downstairs, her hands pressed against the crease of her trousers. The black fabric couldn't hide her beautiful figure; she was curvaceous, slender, and tall.

She stood ramrod straight, like a loyal guard or bodyguard.

But Lu Mingfei didn't remember when Angers had ever hired such a female bodyguard, or rather, would a super hybrid who could take on a next-generation species at the age of 120 need a bodyguard?
However, this girl has very long legs and is indeed very beautiful. Perhaps the old man has finally realized he has a successor and has begun to lead a decadent life.
The girl seemed to sense the unfamiliar gaze and slightly turned her head to look in Lu Mingfei's direction.

Lu Mingfei was surprised by the girl's strong sixth sense. Logically, she shouldn't have discovered him, because out of habit, he had concealed most of his presence.

Now that he had been discovered, Lu Mingfei simply walked up to him openly.

The girl silently looked at Lu Mingfei's tattered school uniform, then at the King's Army greatsword in his hand, her expression momentarily pausing.

Seemingly recognizing him, the girl bowed in greeting.

"Yabuki Sakura, affiliated with the Japanese branch executive bureau."

Her voice was clear and cold, seemingly sharp as a sword, yet also like a flower in early spring.

"Oh oh oh"

Lu Mingfei was surprised that the girl would suddenly greet him, so he quickly nodded in return.
"Lu Mingfei, a freshman or sophomore at the Kassel main campus? A sophomore."

Because of the constant travel, frequent business trips, and injuries requiring recovery, Lu Mingfei almost forgot what year of college he was in.

He instinctively reached for his head to scratch, only to find his hand covered in black ash and sticky alchemical residue. He quickly put his hand down, creating an extremely awkward situation.

The girl named Yabuki Sakura didn't seem to pay him any attention. Upon hearing his name, her cool eyes flickered slightly, and she bowed again, her movements as perfect as a textbook example of etiquette.

"I've long admired your S-class reputation. Director Genjiro is currently upstairs meeting with the principal."

Her explanation was concise and to the point, clarifying why she was guarding the place and the identity of the guests upstairs.

"Director Yuan?"

Lu Mingfei was stunned for a moment before he realized what was going on. It turned out that the big boss of the Japanese branch had arrived; no wonder there was such a uniquely charismatic "bodyguard" downstairs.

But why did Angers call him over when the Japanese branch visited?

Lu Mingfei frowned slightly.

Could it be because he had just taken office as the elder of the Secret Party, and as the leader of the Secret Party, Angers wanted to build relationships with the princes who were enfeoffed in Kassel around the world, so as to win their support in the future and undermine the school board and control the government?
He was wondering whether to go upstairs directly or wait, when Sakura Yabuki slightly stepped aside, clearing the way to the stairs. Although she didn't speak, her meaning was clear—

You are perfectly free to go up.

As soon as Lu Mingfei stepped onto the second floor, the heavy, carved wooden door was pulled open from the inside. Yuan Zhisheng, dressed in a black suit, was nodding slightly to Angers to say goodbye when he looked up and saw Lu Mingfei standing at the door, disheveled and carrying a greatsword from the Monarch's Army.

“Perfect timing,” Angers’ voice carried a perfectly timed smile, as if he had anticipated this moment. He gracefully turned to the side and introduced Yuan Zhisheng, “Zhisheng, come here, let me introduce you. This is our Kassel College’s S-rank, the newly promoted dragon-slaying hero, the youngest elder of the Secret Party’s Elder Council, Lu Mingfei.”

Lu Mingfei was slightly taken aback. This series of glittering titles left him a little dazed.

Yuan Zhisheng's deep gaze fell on Lu Mingfei, his eyes calm and unwavering, like a deep pool, revealing neither joy nor anger. He stepped forward, bowed slightly, and spoke in a steady tone:
"Mr. Lu, I've long admired your name." He then extended his right hand, a hand with distinct knuckles that looked powerful.

Lu Mingfei looked at the clean, slender hand, then glanced down at his own claws, which were covered in black ash and unidentified alchemical residue, and hesitated. But the other person's hand remained suspended in mid-air, its posture impeccable. In the end, he steeled himself and extended his "black claws" to grasp it.

"Director Yuan, hello." He felt like a coal miner.

Angers seemed oblivious to the slightly awkward handshake and continued in his gentle, magnetic voice:

“Wachi is also an outstanding graduate of our Kassel College. Like you, he also received the Principal’s Scholarship back then. Now he is a pillar of the Japanese branch and is here as a representative to report on his work.”

Genji withdrew his hand, his face remaining expressionless, and he simply responded humbly:

"Principal, you flatter me. I am unworthy of such praise."

He turned to Angers, "Then I shall take my leave. I will stay at the academy for three days. Please let me know if you have any instructions."

After saying that, he nodded slightly to Angers and Lu Mingfei again, and then left with Yabuki Sakura, who was waiting downstairs, with steady steps.

Lu Mingfei watched his figure disappear around the corner of the stairs before letting out a long sigh of relief. Without any hesitation, he plopped down on the soft sofa opposite Angers' desk, the heavy Monarch's Greatsword clattering against the side, making the floor tremble slightly.

“Hey Principal,” he said, tugging at his school uniform which was practically a rag doll, looking utterly dejected, “you didn’t call me here in such a hurry just to meet this ‘outstanding graduate’ of the Japanese branch, the head of the executive bureau, and maybe even get to know him a little better?”

Angers did not answer his question directly. He slowly sat back in his high-backed chair, picked up the cup of Pu'er tea that had not yet cooled, but his gaze remained fixed on the direction Yuan Zhisheng had left, his eyes deep.

He took a small sip of tea, then slowly turned his head to look at Lu Mingfei, who was slumped on the sofa, his tone flat:

"Of course not. I called you here because there's something more important."

He paused, a subtle light flashing in his golden eyes.

"But before that... Mingfei, tell me, what do you think of that man from earlier?"

Lu Mingfei was stunned; he hadn't expected Angers to ask this so suddenly. He recalled Yuan Zhisheng's calm and composed demeanor, and the powerful soul fluctuations he had felt when they shook hands.

That aura was even stronger than that of an ordinary faded being.

If we had to be precise, his strength might be a bit higher than that of the city lord, Jellian, but the exact difference in their abilities depends on their martial arts skills.

“Very strong,” Lu Mingfei thought for a moment and continued, “stronger than my senior brother and Caesar combined. I think it would take a lot of effort to defeat him.”

If his words of power are very strange, then a 50/50 chance is not out of the question.

Of course, this refers to the normal situation where Dragon Feast is not used, Rune is not activated, and Bloodlust is not activated.

If he were to activate all of these abilities, even Lu Mingfei himself wouldn't be able to say how strong he truly is.

"Is it……"

Angers gently swirled the teacup in his hand, watching the orange-red tea soup ripple in the cup, as if savoring Lu Mingfei's weighty evaluation.

He whispered to himself:
"It seems that our Japanese executive director is even more formidable than I imagined."
