Chapter 241 The Dark Building
Qin Ziwen handed the weapon to the eagle for safekeeping, and then went to the foot of the mountain.

Soon, he noticed a man carrying an axe sneaking towards the woods.

Seeing this, Qin Ziwen's lips curled up. He thought to himself, with so many people, how could no one slack off?

As soon as the man entered the woods, he found a clearing and sat down, and a hand was placed on his shoulder from behind.

The man was startled, jumped up, turned around, and saw Qin Ziwen standing behind him. He thought it was his supervisor.

"I wasn't slacking off, I just came to see if there were any suitable trees," the man instinctively defended himself.

But they soon realized something was wrong.

Because Qin Ziwen's demeanor seemed somewhat different from that of the people in the building.

After scrutinizing him for a moment, he hesitated and asked, "Are you from an urban village?"

Qin Ziwen wasn't surprised that the other person didn't recognize him. He smiled but didn't explain.

How could more than three thousand people possibly know each other, especially since they didn't have any special identifying symbols, such as a yellow cloth tied around their shoulder or a green scarf on their head?

"Damn, you scared the crap out of me," the man muttered as he sat back down.

“You guys look pretty tired.” Qin Ziwen sat down next to him.

Speaking of this, the man couldn't help but swear, "Damn it, they're all a bunch of animals, even worse than my boss! They treat us like cattle."

At this point, the man sized up Qin Ziwen and gave him a suggestive smile. "You're from the urban village, right? What kind of girl do you like? How about I introduce you to a few? Boss Xiang on the fifth floor, he has good stuff there, especially Guan Guan, big breasts, lots of water, and a perky butt."

Seeing that Qin Ziwen's expression remained unchanged, the man's eyes darted around. "Don't like this one? Then go to the sixth floor. Sister He has a few college students there. They used to work part-time at maid cafes. The service is a bit limited, but..."

Seeing that Qin Ziwen still looked normal, the man's heart pounded. "You don't like playing with men, do you? Well, I do have men, but whether they suit your taste is another matter. I'm a pretty upright person and I don't like to use back channels."

The more the man talked about it, the more disgusted he became.

He knew that in the past two maps, too many people had died in the building. Because of the high number of deaths and the intense pressure, many people indulged in debauchery to numb themselves, not only engaging in wild and unrestrained activities, but also becoming perverted.

But he is still a staunch traditionalist.

Shrinking his neck, the man silently shifted his buttocks back, watching Qin Ziwen leave.

We arrived at the foot of the Hongding Building.

Many people were coming and going inside and outside the building.

Qin Ziwen simply swaggered in.

The elevator had been out of service for a long time. Several staircases next to it, however, were open.

The Hongding Building is very tall, with a hollow interior structure. When viewed from above, it resembles the Chinese character "吕" (Lü).

Unlike those new office buildings, Hongding Building was built in 2005 and is considered one of the earliest high-rise office buildings in Jiangcheng.

The building was influenced by Hong Kong Island, so the interior retains a courtyard.

The exterior walls have been renovated, but the interior space retains the original structure.

(PS: These are raw photos taken inside the Hongding XX Building and heavily edited. They are based on a real building; the exterior is an office building, and the interior space is as shown in the picture.)
The stairwell floor was very clean, but on the outer wall of the courtyard, patches of dried blood clung to the wall.

The air smelled indescribably oppressive.

It smells sour and is damp and stuffy.

Long poles hung along the corridor, with clothes drying on them.

The doors of the rooms were all tightly closed, though occasionally one door was open.

Qin Ziwen arrived on the third floor. A room in front of him had been opened up, and many people were going in and out. The smell of burning coal wafted from inside, accompanied by the clanging of metal. That must be the blacksmith shop.

Qin Ziwen wanted to go and take a look, but the blacksmith shop was blocked by two burly men at the gate.

Qin Ziwen withdrew his gaze and continued walking upstairs.

This time, he carefully walked through the same floor and confirmed that it was on the lower floors. There were five fire exits from floors 1 to 5. Three of these exits were limited to floors 1 to 5, while the other two main safety exits ran through floors 1 to 8. After reaching the eighth floor, one had to "go straight, turn left, and then turn left again" to transfer to a new staircase. This process was repeated, with the two main safety exits changing positions every eight floors.

Qin Ziwen knew part of the reason for this. The Hongding Building was connected to a shopping mall, and several safety exits on the lower floors could directly lead into the mall. However, it was clear that only the building was traversed, and the mall itself did not follow.

The building's internal emergency exits were very complex, and Qin Ziwen silently memorized their locations.

Upon reaching the thirty-second floor, they discovered they could not go any further.

Both safety doors were blocked.

The space above is clearly a "private space" belonging to the upper floors.

"Which floor are you on?" A questioning voice came from behind. A bald man wearing an apron and humming a tune, who was fastening his belt, walked out of the house behind him.

Seeing that Qin Ziwen did not answer, a hint of vigilance flashed in the bald man's eyes. Just as he was about to turn around, Qin Ziwen rushed up to him and grabbed him by the neck.

The man's face turned purplish-red, and he weakly pounded his strong arm.

After glancing around to avoid being discovered, Qin Ziwen dragged him straight into the room he had just come out of.

Upon entering the room, Qin Ziwen felt as if a pause button had been pressed.

He stared blankly at the incredibly shocking scene before him.

Inside the room, the windows were open, and on the ceiling, on a string of iron racks, hung strips of dried hands, legs, and other parts of the torso, like dried meat, densely packed on the ceiling.

When the wind blows, it sways, as if waving.

On the table next to it was a large blue plastic bucket, from which came a pungent smell of blood.

The cutting board holds the freshly prepared "ingredients".

Qin Ziwen looked around in disbelief, then looked down at the bald man in his hand.

He closed the door behind him, then grabbed the boning knife from the cutting board and held it to his neck. "If you dare to scream, you'll die."

When the hand choking him was released, the bald man coughed violently, but with each cough, the cold blade on his neck drew an inch closer.

He trembled all over and cried, "I'm just a cook! The person was already dead when he was delivered. If you want revenge, go find someone else."

revenge?

Qin Ziwen looked at the cutting board. Although the ingredients had been dissected, it was clear that the owner of the food was young when it was alive. The food was very fair and tender, and a head was placed next to it.

Her black hair cascaded down the edge of the blood-stained cutting board.

In addition to the smell of blood, there was another indescribable odor in the air.

A hint of disgust flashed in Qin Ziwen's eyes.

It's not even enough to describe it as perverted.

Seeing that Qin Ziwen didn't speak, the bald man quickly spilled the beans, saying, "The person was already dead when they brought him over. They said he jumped from the sixth floor when the guests weren't paying attention, and it has nothing to do with me."

"How long have you been cooking this meat?" Qin Ziwen asked.

"Meat?" The bald man was taken aback. "Aren't you from our building?"
