Chapter 359 Sigismund's Obstruction

Chapter 359 Sigismund's Obstruction (Third Update)

The message briefly described the situation of being attacked by an organized group of unidentified Greenskins and clearly pointed out the possible conspiracy behind it.

Great Sage Vox responded with extraordinary speed.

The fact that the communication was connected almost instantly upon the request demonstrates the importance Neksam attaches to Chen Yu and his project.

“The situation is known, Sage Chen Yu.” Vox’s voice, mixed with mechanical noise, came through, his tone grave. “Hold on, reinforcements have been mobilized immediately. Two full-strength frigates of the Faith, and…” He paused slightly, emphasizing the next part, “a Titan combat group belonging to the Steelhound Chapter, will accompany the frigates to your location as quickly as possible.”

A Titan battle group! This far exceeds the conventional force required to deal with a small-scale orc attack.

Vox's move was not only a full guarantee for Chen Yu, an important collaborator and "contributor to the ancient STC," but also a demonstration of Nexus's determination and power to forge a world, in an unquestionable and forceful manner, to the hidden mastermind behind the scenes and to all the forces in the galaxy that coveted this place.

Any threat against Chen Yu and his research will be seen as a direct provocation against Neksam and will provoke a devastating response.

"Reinforcements are expected to arrive in your star system's orbit in 78 hours standard time," Vox added. "During this time, ensuring your safety and that of the core project is the highest priority."

Communication ends.

Chen Yu incorporated the new timeline into the operational plan.

With such a substantial promise of reinforcements, the immediate orc threat seemed even smaller.

However, his vigilance was raised to the highest level.

The forces behind the Greenskins that could launch such a precise attack are far from ordinary.

He mobilized more computing power and began to analyze and trace the final trajectory of those green-skinned meteorites before they entered the planet's orbit, trying to find clues about the hidden enemy from the background radiation and gravitational disturbances of the starry sea.

The real storm may have only just begun to brew.
-
Just as Chen Yu's Deathworld base was under heavy attack from the Orks, Sigismund and his Black Templar fleet also encountered unexpected obstacles in the warp.

The once stable subspace route suddenly became extremely violent, with surging energy turbulence and materialized malicious whispers forming a deadly storm that tore at the ship's Geller force field.

The massive hull of the "Eternal Expedition" trembled violently in the energy turbulence, and alarms blared throughout the bridge.

"Supreme Marshal! The Geller force field overload has reached the critical point! We must immediately escape the subspace!" The navigator's voice was distorted with pain, his third eye enduring unspeakable pressure.

Sigismund gave the order without hesitation: "All ships, evacuate immediately! Set the coordinates to the nearest physical space!"

The fleet struggled to tear open the boundary between reality and illusion, stumbling and falling back into the material universe.

However, what awaited them was not a peaceful void—

The moment they left subspace, a large number of IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) signals suddenly appeared on the sensors.

A massive fleet, exuding an aura of decay and death, had been waiting there for some time.

The hulls of these ships were covered with pustular turrets, green slime seeping from the seams of the armor, and a sickly green light flickered inside the portholes.

The faded but still legible insignia on the ship's hull proclaimed their identity: Death Guards.

“They’re Mortarion’s lackeys!” roared a Black Templar warrior, his hand already on his sword hilt.

The traitorous fleet did not hesitate for a moment.

The moment the Black Templar fleet completed its escape, a barrage of macro cannons and laser beams tore through the void and rained down on them.

Several corrosive torpedoes, leaving green trails, struck a frigate on the flank of the fleet first.

The warship's void shield crumbled rapidly in the face of the eerie corrosion, its armor plates melting away like rotting flesh, and soon exploded into a foul-smelling fireball in space.

"All hands on deck, prepare for battle! For the Emperor!" Sigismund's voice echoed throughout the flagship via the ship's communication system. "These traitors and the appearance of the warp storm are no coincidence; they are trying to stop us from reaching the world of the dead."

The massive hull of the "Eternal Expedition" began to turn, and the weapon arrays on its sides lit up. As a Queen Glory-class battleship, its firepower was sufficient to contend with a small fleet.

When its first salvo roared out of the cannon barrel, the entire void trembled.

A massive beam of light pierced straight through the midsection of a Deathguard cruiser, triggering a series of secondary explosions.

However, the Death Guard's fleet should not be underestimated.

Their ships, blessed by Nurgle, displayed remarkable resilience, continuing to fight even when severely damaged.

The green pus turrets continuously spewed out corrosive energy orbs that adhered to the void shield of the black Templar ship, constantly weakening its defenses.

A fierce battle in the void ensued.

Lasers crisscrossed, torpedoes flew across the sky, and flashes of light from explosions appeared continuously in the cold universe.

Sigismund stood on the bridge, his face grave.

He clearly realized that a hidden mastermind was using the power of chaos to prevent him from meeting Chen Yu.

"Send an encrypted message to the world of the dead," Sigismund ordered the communications officer, "informing Sage Chen Yu that we have been intercepted by traitors and will be delayed in our arrival. At the same time..." He looked out the porthole at the approaching Death Guard ships, clenching his fist, "and beg him to hold on no matter what."

Sigismund stared out the porthole at the traitor's warships that reeked of decay, a cold rage burning in his eyes.

He loosened his clenched fist and drew his power sword from his waist with steady, powerful strokes. The sword gleamed with a faint blue light as it was activated.

"Prepare for boarding torpedoes." His voice, carried through the communicator, resonated throughout the flagship with an undeniable resolve. "Templars, board with me. It's time for these blasphemous traitors to experience the Emperor's wrath firsthand."

He did not choose to continue remotely commanding this war of attrition from the bridge.

The most effective way to deal with these stubborn traitors, the Death Guard, is to strike at their heart and tear apart their command core with a power sword and explosive bombs.

The glory of the Black Templar is forever forged in close combat.

The side armor of the "Eternal Expedition" slowly opened, and several menacing boarding torpedoes, like unsheathed swords, drew deadly trajectories in the air, accurately striking the flagship of the Death Guard fleet—a ravaged but still massive plague cruiser.

The torpedo, carrying Sigismund and the most elite Templars, pierced the traitor's warship's decaying armor like a scorching dagger.

The moment the docking was successful, the hatch exploded open.

"For the Emperor! For Dorne!"

Sigismund's battle cry was like thunder, and he was the first to rush out of the torpedo compartment.

The power sword flashed a deadly arc, instantly cleaving the two Death Guards, armor and all, in two.

Rotten bodily fluids and twisted metal splattered everywhere, yet they couldn't touch him at all.

Behind them, the Templar Knights surged out like a tide, the roar of slug guns and the buzzing of power weapons instantly filling the narrow passage.

They formed a tight formation, with Sigismund as the vanguard, and relentlessly pressed towards the bridge.

Every swing of the sword, every shot, was imbued with the deepest hatred for the traitor and the most fervent faith in the emperor.

Sigismund's objective was clear—to find the ship's commander, the traitor hiding in the rotting bridge, and use his head to declare that the will of the Black Templars was unstoppable.

He must end this battle as soon as possible; Chen Yu in the world of death is still waiting for reinforcements.

Anyone who tries to obstruct this meeting, whether Greenskins or Chaos traitors, will be reduced to dust by his sword.
