Chapter 129 Staying Overnight
Chapter 129 Staying Overnight
Ita had already changed into Yumilia's clothes and was sitting on the sofa with her head down, her face still flushed, even the tips of her ears were burning.
Yumilia was sitting behind her, combing her long hair, with an embarrassed smile on her face.
Caesar had finished cleaning the kitchen and was now sitting to one side reading a newspaper.
The atmosphere at home is a little awkward right now.
"Oh dear, I didn't expect Caesar to come back at this time. Otherwise, you two would definitely be happily hugging each other, right?"
Yumilia said with a smile, seemingly trying to break the awkward silence.
"Well"
But those words made Ita even more ashamed, and she covered her face, not wanting anyone to see her embarrassing state.
She actually appeared in front of Caesar in such a daze; how could she face him afterward?
"By the way, didn't Ita go to Caesar's school today? How was it? Now you can go to school together again," Yumilia said.
Caesar then seemed to realize something and looked at Yumilia: "You actually knew Ita had come to the capital before, but you kept it from me for the past two days, right?"
"Huh? I remember we still have a beef rib at home. How about we have grilled ribs for dinner tonight?" Yumilia quickly changed the subject.
"I already told you it was a surprise for you, Caesar, that's why I told Yumilia not to tell you yet," Ita muttered to herself.
Caesar paused for a moment, then asked, "You've met Freya too?"
"I've seen it before."
So Freya knew all along, but he didn't.
“Oh, Caesar, today is the day we reunite, let’s not worry about anything else. It’s rare for Ita to come to our house today, we should celebrate properly,” Yumilia said.
She ruffled Ita's hair: "Although we didn't make the mousse cake, we still have a lot of ingredients left. How about we bake some cookies in a bit?"
“Yes, I love anything Yumilia makes,” Ita said.
“Alright then, you guys wait here for a bit, I’ll go bake some cookies right away.” Yumilia said, getting up and heading to the kitchen.
Only Ita and Caesar remained in the living room.
Ita was still shaken by what had just happened, her face slightly flushed, and she kept glancing at Caesar.
Just as he was about to say something, Caesar spoke first:
"Ita."
"Hmm, what's up?"
“Come inside with me, I want to show you something,” Caesar said.
"Ugh?"
Ita looked slightly surprised, as if she had thought of something, but Caesar had already gotten up and walked towards his room.
She hesitated for a moment, then followed him inside, but to her surprise, Caesar mysteriously closed the door as soon as she stepped inside.
Suddenly, something strange popped into Ita's head. Could it be that Caesar felt embarrassed to see her naked, so he was planning to let her see him naked too?
This is really somewhat
Just as she was lost in her fantasies, she saw Caesar squatting by the wardrobe, taking out the pipe from inside.
Yumilia had originally planned to throw this away along with a broken kettle, but Caesar had secretly taken it back before that, and she hadn't noticed.
However, after Yumilia touched it, the curse aura on it dissipated. However, when it was sealed before, the sealing spell was also tainted with some of the aura, and now only a little bit remains.
“This is it. I found it in the building that was attacked. It seems to carry some kind of cursed aura. See if you recognize this aura,” Caesar said.
"Oh dear." Ita concealed the disappointment in her eyes and reached out to take the pipe. But Caesar withdrew his hand:
"Let's just leave it like this. The source of the cursed aura on it is uncertain, so try to avoid contact with it," he said.
After all, this is a curse targeting the dragon race. Although it is very weak now, it's best to avoid touching it if possible.
Upon hearing Caesar's description, Ita knew this was no simple matter, and his expression turned serious as he savored the aroma emanating from the pipe.
After a moment, she frowned slightly.
"It feels...familiar, like I've encountered it somewhere before."
"You've encountered this before?" Caesar's eyes widened slightly.
According to her, there are only two possibilities: either there were still members of the Spirit Corpse Clan lurking around Ita in the past, and Ita had encountered a spell they had set up.
In addition, Ita had met the owner of this pipe before, who was the black cat sorcerer.
Of course, the two may have happened together.
"To say I've encountered it isn't quite right. It seems I've only heard of it. Ah, no, that's not what I mean either. Anyway, it's all vague, and I can't remember it now," Ita said, troubled.
"Yeah."
Ita's words made him frown, as if they carried some kind of unsettling secret.
But seeing Ita racking her brains to recall, she couldn't get any more information out of him for the time being.
“Alright, Caesar, I’ll have my family help you search. Expanding the search area will surely yield results,” Ita said.
Caesar nodded: "However, as you may have noticed, the aura emanating from this item has a certain connection with the dragon race."
Ita paused for a moment, then nodded: "Indeed, this aura is particularly unpleasant."
She pondered for a moment, then asked, "Caesar, could it be that this thing belongs to the people who attacked the building?"
Caesar nodded, then noticed a flicker of worry in Ita's eyes.
Ita seemed worried about something, which meant that she must know something about the culprit behind the attack on the building, the black cat sorcerer.
His gaze lowered slightly, then softened again.
He reached out and ruffled her hair.
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious. Even if danger occurs, I will protect Ita."
Ita felt the warmth coming from above her head, and the corners of her mouth pursed up.
"Yes, I believe in Caesar."
That evening, the two of them helped Yumilia prepare a large and sumptuous meal. The three of them chatted and laughed at the table, reminiscing about fond memories of the past and the interesting things that had happened to them over the years.
During this rare time of family reunion, Yumilia remarked that it would be even better if Freya were here, as that would truly make the whole family together.
At this point, Caesar inexplicably thought that if Sia were to come as well, wouldn't that be considered a four-generation household?
As it grew late, Delina came up again to remind Ita and ask if he had returned to the mansion.
“I won’t be going back tonight,” Ita said. “It’s a rare opportunity, and I want to spend more time with Yumilia and Caesar.”
"Yes, sir." After hesitating for a few moments, Delina obeyed her command and turned to go downstairs.
"Is Ita going to stay here tonight?" Yumilia asked excitedly.
“Well, I won’t be leaving tonight,” Ita said with a squinting smile.
“Great! Let’s all sleep together tonight! I can even tell you stories!” Yumilia said happily.
