Chapter 180 An Unexpected Incident During the Date
Chapter 180 An Unexpected Incident During the Date
“It’s your duty to pick out the right underwear for me!” Ita shouted.
"Hey, keep your voice down."
Caesar noticed that some people around him were casting curious glances at him. When he saw that they were two teenagers, and considering what had just been said, they all showed amused expressions as they watched the spectacle unfold.
Ita shrank back and lowered her voice: "Anyway, Caesar, you can't just leave me hanging and make me choose for myself, can you?"
Caesar stared at her for a long time, then sighed:
"How old are you? You still need Caesar to buy your underwear."
His gaze swept across the rows of brightly colored fabrics, picking one up to examine it, then picking up that to look at it.
Ita followed him closely, having already planned everything out. Once Caesar made his choice, she would use the excuse of trying on the underwear to take him backstage. There, a lone man and woman would be watching her try on the underwear he had personally selected, half-naked. Then, she would pretend that she couldn't reach the straps and ask Caesar to help her tie them. With such an ambiguous interaction, she was sure their feelings would intensify.
Caesar glanced around, seemingly remembering a crucial question he hadn't asked, and turned to look at Ithaca:
What size do you wear?
“This… Little M.” Ita shifted her gaze.
"Let's be honest."
“XS”
"The smallest size," Caesar muttered, not noticing that Ita's little mouth was pouting again.
"These two, please." He took down two sets of underwear and handed them to Ita.
"Isn't this the children's version?"
Both are children's sizes. The top is a vest style, and the underwear is boxer briefs with a small cat pattern on it.
"Are you very old?" Caesar countered.
“But…” Ita looked at the two bras in her hands. She hadn’t worn this style for two years. She was the head of the household now, and even if it was just underwear, wearing something so childish would diminish her inner authority.
Moreover, if she were to try on this kind of lingerie, she wouldn't even be in the mood to let Caesar see it.
The two walked out of the shop, their little scheme thwarted, and Ita still looked a bit sullen.
Caesar noticed a shop selling sweet wheat cakes nearby, pointed to it, and said to Ita, "Would you like some of those?"
"Hmm, either is fine," Ita said absentmindedly.
So Caesar bought two. The warm, soft wheat cakes smelled delicious, and taking a bite on a cold day made him feel refreshed.
While eating a pancake in one hand and holding Ita's hand in the other, the two chatted idly. Suddenly, a figure darted out from the crowd and crashed into Ita.
Caesar pulled Ita over, but Ita seemed to have targeted them, turning around and bumping into Caesar's shoulder with a thud.
Before he could say anything, the other person turned around and disappeared into the crowd.
"Caesar, are you alright?" Ita asked hurriedly, then glared fiercely at the spot where the man had disappeared.
"How rude! There are all kinds of people out there. They bumped into someone and didn't even apologize."
“It’s just a child’s prank,” Caesar said, but then he suddenly realized something, reached into his pocket, and looked up sharply.
"What's wrong, Caesar?" Ita asked from beside him.
"He stole my wallet!?"
What kind of method is this? How could someone steal a wallet without even being able to sense it?
But he had to deal with a thief, so Caesar stuffed the remaining half of the bread into his mouth, turned around and rushed out. Ita's voice quickly faded from his sight.
With his Domination activated, even if the other party blended into the crowd, they couldn't escape his eyes. After dodging left and right, he discovered that the other party turned into a small alley, where the flow of people suddenly decreased. Caesar quickly noticed that the other party slipped into a shop in the alley and immediately followed.
This is a very low storefront with no sign. The double doors are so low that even slightly tall people have to duck to walk in, which makes one wonder what kind of business is inside.
There are almost no pedestrians here, and the only thing that comes to mind is a hiding place or something like that.
"Caesar!" Ita caught up at that moment.
Where is the thief?
“It’s hidden inside,” Caesar said, pointing to the shop in front of him.
"Hmph, I'll teach him a lesson when I catch him. How dare he steal our things!" Ita said fiercely, clenching her pink fists, and pushed open the door to go inside.
Inside was a long corridor, very warm, and filled with a sweet aroma.
At the very back is a crystal curtain. Pull it open and you'll find a room lit by dim pinkish-purple lights.
In the center of the room stood a long table, piled high with miscellaneous items. Seated behind the table was a woman whose head was covered by a headscarf.
"Good afternoon, lost sheep." A faint, ethereal female voice echoed in the room.
"Where's the thief?! He ran into your place!" Ita shouted angrily.
"I can see that you two are confused. Do you need me to guide you?"
"I'm asking you, where's the thief?"
"It was the migration of souls that led you two here; a preordained destiny has already connected us."
The ethereal female voice continued to speak, as if it were a pre-programmed response.
Bang!
Ita stepped forward and slammed his hand on the table, shouting at her, "If you dare to say another word, believe me, I'll smash up this lousy shop!"
"Where are you?!"
"Uh, what?" The other person finally seemed to snap out of their daze, no longer giving that cryptic reply.
She turned her head and pressed a button on the wall, turning off the dim pinkish-purple light and replacing it with a bright incandescent bulb that illuminated the small room.
She reached up and took down a small megaphone hanging on her collar, and the sound returned to normal.
So even the voice I heard just now was fake.
"Excuse me, who are you two?" she asked, though she hadn't yet removed the headscarf covering her head.
“We just encountered a thief who stole our wallets and hid here, which is why we chased him in,” Caesar said, pulling back Ita who was about to explode.
"Oh, is that it?"
She gave a faint laugh, then turned and called out, "Little Mist, come out!"
With a thud, the ceiling above made a sound, and a figure fell down. The figure pulled down its hood, revealing a pair of dark gray wolf ears, and a fluffy tail trailed behind it.
Turning around, they found themselves facing a werewolf of similar age to them. She appeared to be a girl with brownish-yellow eyes, short dark gray hair, and a face that clearly belonged to a prankster, watching them with a cheerful expression.
"Thief! Where's the wallet?" Ita shouted.
"Don't be in such a hurry, I'm just playing around with you guys." The werewolf girl, known as Little Mist, said with a smile, taking Caesar's wallet out of her pocket and tossing it over.
"I just like to race with others. I saw you earlier and thought you were pretty good, so I came up with this idea to race you. Sigh, I didn't expect you to be so slow. It took me ages to catch up. Looks like I won." She shrugged and said.
Caesar opened his wallet to make sure nothing was missing, then put it away. He stepped forward, grabbed Xiaowu's wrist, and tried to drag her out.
"Hey, hey, what are you doing? I already said it was a joke," she quickly said.
"I don't care about your opinions, go tell the police," Caesar said coldly.
With such skillful techniques, who would believe he wasn't a habitual thief?
"Wait, wait, I was wrong, I was wrong, okay? It was just a joke, why did you take it so seriously?" Xiaowu was clearly anxious and tried desperately to pull him back.
"Trying to run away? You stole something, I'm being lenient by not beating you up!" Ita said fiercely.
"No, how about we settle this privately? Please don't send me to the cops! I'm an illegal immigrant with no household registration, and even this shop doesn't have a business license!" Xiaowu said hurriedly.
"Really? What does that have to do with me?" Caesar chuckled.
"Wait, wait, Marlene, Marlene, save me!" Xiaowu shouted to the woman over there.
“Ahem,” the woman called Marlene coughed and said to them.
"I'm sorry for the trouble, but Xiaowu is actually a good child. She just likes to play pranks. If you two forgive her, I'd like to give you a free fortune telling."
"Fortune telling?" Ita noticed a crystal ball on the other person's table, and the cryptic words he had just uttered sounded very much like those of a fortune teller.
"Yeah, yeah, Marlene's fortune telling is really accurate. Why don't you ask her to predict your marriage prospects?" Xiaowu said, seizing the opportunity.
"You," Ita blushed instantly, glaring at the other person.
“I desperately need your divination this time,” Caesar said.
Who cares about this kind of pretentious nonsense?
"But what if I were a diviner from the Hellanells family of astrologers?"
